"If “dying from” is defined as dying with presence of COVID-19 antibodies, then once we reach herd immunity, which it seems is close in many places, then about 80% of all deaths can be classified as coronavirus deaths. Not that they’d do that! Heaven forfend! This is humor."

Last tuesday in england, when the preliminary weekly figures came in for death registrations, it was THE WORST WEEK EVER!!! (for the last 20 years)

20 years ago was 2000, apparently a bad flu year.
I don't remember anything happening that year. it was all Y2K and new millennium stuff.

Only time will tell with this. I will look at the new numbers on Tuesday.
See if they are the worst EVER!!! ot just the worst since.

Because probably 1349 would be the one to beat. percent of pop.

Are you still down in Florida? Are detox’s and rehabs still taking people? I feel like they would need to but not enough beds on a good day..

I’ve seen a couple deaths on fb that I’m assuming were od’s too. Young, no cause given and I know the lifestyle they were in.. it’s unfortunate it’s always the same people falling through the cracks. I had hoped the lack of fentanyl would have made the overdose numbers go down..
That's what people were worried about with addicts. Not the OD's, but the serious Withdrawals.

There is a very disturbing statistic revealed here, the whole thing is disturbing but nevertheless the USA is ranked 38th in the world for medical quality of care but is ranked number 1 in the world for the cost of that care.

As I've stated before, lab rats.

Man, she felt like she was releaved she can say this without being accused or persecuted.

My friend and I have always thought that about fighting Drunk Drivers, if they really really wanted to stop it, they'd put mandatory interlocks in cars, that's if they really cared and did any means necessary.

Have to find a video with just the interview. People will view and think about what she says, more than this one with the guy at the end, they'd watch the end and then immediately see it as Anti-Vaxer propaganda.

It's good to see there are still some sane individuals around who just aren't buying into this media madness.

*warning* Contains bad language

*2nd warning* Due to airborne bodily fluids it is advisable to watch this video with adequate PPE.

Let em have it Vic!

Nearly 3,300 inmates across four US state prison systems tested positive for coronavirus - but 96 percent were asymptomatic

Maybe the beach goers took this into account and decided to rush to the beach?
Beaches across the nation are packed as people ignore social distancing to sunbathe and relax on the sand as governors' pleas to stay at home fall on deaf ears

Doesn’t seem to be good news for the beer industry..that doesn’t matter does it?

More than one million kegs of beer are sitting in empty stadiums, bars and restaurants across the US as breweries plan to deal with potential $1billion fallout

Thats like saying a certain university is not being used 10 days after it was opened. It takes soooo much to get a hospital running.
They opened it because there were so many cases..it should have been up and going the first day of that were the case.

They would need to move nurses, doctors and other administrative staff, get all the facilities up, appoint people and lot more. At the same time they can't let the other hospitals get understaffed and overworked plus its just been 10 days.

Things take time Lisa.

I’m sure if they had people to fill the beds..that wouldn’t have been a problem.

I"ve brought up before that the methods of counting Corona deaths is different from country to country, but within the US its even different from state to state.

Some states will count Covid deaths with symptoms but no positive Covid test, others will only count it with a positive covid test.

To compound the problems apparently there have been reports of both false positives AND false negatives.

this is all a mess.

"The chief executive of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust said it was a "good thing" the hospital had not received patients."

If this is a good thing, they can accept patients.

'Empty' Nightingale hospitals could be used to treat non-coronavirus patients after it emerges just 'dozens' of victims of the pandemic have been taken to Britain's four new NHS centres
  • Ben Wallace said empty beds at the seven Nightingales could be used for others
  • Those including cancer sufferers or 'stepdown' patients might be treated there
  • Nightingales remain largely empty despite having capacity for 11,000 patients

source? numbers? all years, months?
government. ONS figures.

The phrase 'worst ever' was used in various forms in the tabloids and uk news channels.

This is the ONS page.

Here is the BBC on the numbers

The tabloids had a lot more hyperbole, but it was a week ago, so difficult to find now.

I did post about this then, with links.
I have linked the ONS data a few times.
They do a new one on Tuesdays.
Official number of deaths registered in England and Wales.

I feel like the situation with drugs in Florida is just generally out of control. I have a lot of friends who moved down there to get clean and came back more fucked up then ever... recently a friend got shot in the face around Christmas and then at the beginning of March got ran over. I don’t even know if he survived tbh. Haven’t heard a word.. West palm. All over drugs.

I really do just wish drugs were smited off the face of earth or something. It’s the worst saddest thing ever..

@rainerann have they done any studies to see if these people 70 days out are still contagious? They told my uncle at the cdc testing site that 72 hours after no fever he’s not contagious anymore. It’s very confusing.
I am sorry to hear that. I have lost buddies to suicide by cop, overdoses and suicide.

Well, the problem might be that some of the "rooms" are pretty clicky, but it is really up to people's choices. People often stray after treatment. You can however stay clean and sober in Florida.

"A third were linked to coronavirus, but deaths from other causes also increased, suggesting the lockdown may be having an indirect impact on health."

"Nearly 185,000 people have died in 2020 compared with around 175,000 on average over the past five years at this point of the year."

There is no big increase on a 3/4 month basis.
