What complex? I’m talking about individuals here.Nurses surely deserve more than some jackass sitting on a board opening an envelope or some frat boy with a c average who got into a good school because his daddy went there and then gets a job in upper management because daddy’s friend runs the place.
State. Medical or military industrial complex worship. Fucking tired of it all.

Nurses never get enough appreciation, they run the hospitals. Don't blame nurses for your country being awful enough to consider universal healthcare bad just because people would rather have millions die or end up homeless just to not wait a couple minutes during uncritical appointments. Nurses are one of the most underappreciated people in health sciences related professions and are not paid enough.
I'm surprised US is still tooting on their backwards thinking. You still pay so much taxes but your taxes go EVERYWHERE except in places where they can benefit you and then you think Europe is somehow bad?

Also personal experiences should hardly come in between your view of professions. Just because someone once told me to fuck off doesn't mean literally everybody in that profession is evil and should be "lined on the wall".

Imagine being salty that someone gets praise LOL

Not a statist, I hate the military and the medical system is fucked but nurses are not the sum of the medical industry. They’re the reason it works at all. I just don’t get your anger towards them
The system is taking the care away and nurses are the front line of that.

Trust me, nurses are on the low end of my anger. The US system is fucked. I did not witness good quality of care recently and all my research supports that it is wide spread.

I think the EU is bad, not Europe.

Blame the politicians and the voters.

You can't get top notch care in a country with no healthcare especially when you aren't worth billions.

You only get good quality care when you pay cash. It’s fucked up. But I wouldn’t necessarily blame the healthcare staff for that. They literally have no say in the matter.

And I can still be pissed with people that stay in bad fields.

That’s another catch 22 though, right? So when you sign up for training in a profession your a kid, you are idealistic, you don’t realize the politics involved. Then you get in the job that you spend tens of thousands of dollars to get the qualifications for and realize it isn’t what you thought it was, that their are competing forces getting in the way.. and you either leave or try to do the best you can within the system.

Where are they leaving to, though? Realistically. They have to pay off the loans and it’s not like there are decent paying jobs falling out of the sky.

BULLSHIT. They secure sweet deals for nurses that divert narcotics.
??? Well, that isn’t one I’ve heard...

What do you think the unions (for nurses it’s usually SEIU) should be working on?

I’m out of my element here, you’ll need to inform me.

Yeah, it's problematic. I agree.

I thought no one would be stupid enough to try and internally take disinfectants? I want that data too. I thought Trump never implied to take it? Lol

yeah it’s funny how it went from non skilled labor to essential over night.

all work has dignity, all work deserves a living wage and praise. hope that’s a lesson we take from this crisis

while we’re on the subject, sanitation workers have a much higher death rate than cops but no one seems to think they are heroes

I think the union should work on what members say. Unfortunately, members usually just want more money instead of what really matters to their field.

In my experience, the care is the same no matter how you are paying, but the people who are paying with medicaid/medicare are changing the way we give care because it is lower compensation overall. The healthcare system needs to learn to live with less in reality but to do that you would have to switch to treatments that cost less money.

But universal healthcare in the US will only work temporarily at most because at the federal level, it will never have greater priority in competition with military spending. Locally, it might work well, but no one can afford to try to get a local universal healthcare program going when most of the people who could help support it for the rest of the people who couldn't are taxed heavily already by the federal government.
