I don't think Trump is a shoo-in for reelection even if Biden wins the primary. I think Trump won many of the swing states because he was running against Hillary. I don't think he will have the same advantage in those states if Sanders or even Biden wins. Biden is the definition of a puppet, but Hillary was a wolf. Therefore, even Biden has greater potential than Hillary did in the swing states.
Trump won because Hillary lost — to a point. Trump had a clear message, while Hillary did not, and if Biden has a better message than she did, I’ve yet to hear it. Voters will have also had almost four years of Trump by November, and things aren’t looking nearly as bad as they said they would.

Biden doesn’t have to overcome the stuff Hillary would have to beat Trump, but he’s got no message, possible dementia, and Hunter hanging around his neck, while Trump has a good record (strong economy, no wars) and has gained support from some of the minorities that Biden will be counting on. I think Biden’s going to get shredded.

Trump hasn't gained minority support. It's going to be the same %s, just need to see the turnout.

Your campaign for Trump is fascinating. Trump won because Hillary lost entirely. Trump does not have the support that you think he does nationwide. In the last election, there was a rise in the Libertarian movement because both candidates sucked. There were articles that were published afterward that the Libertarian vote is what tilted the scales in Trump's favor. In particular, the Libertarian vote was blamed for Trump winning Florida. There honestly could be some truth to this. People hated Hillary and Trump during the last election and the LIbertarian party had one of the best turnouts that they have ever had last time. If this election turns out to be a two-party race instead, it will end up being a very close race.

Trump's message may have been "clear" on a couple of issues. However, they were the most absolutely ridiculous issues, like building a wall. His talk about the wall he was going to build is some pretty good evidence that Trump may be suffering from some dementia himself. It was one of the most ridiculous political talking points that have been introduced in my lifetime. Not surprising in the least that this wall has not manifested yet because it was one of the most ridiculous political talking points that have ever been introduced into our presidential debates possibly ever.

So it may have been "clear," but being clear does not mean this was some sort of demonstration of intelligence.

He has cut illegal immigration a lot with his policy requiring them to stay in Mexico while their bs asylum claims are heard.

Here is an article about the influence the Libertarian and Green Party had on Trump winning the election by gaining Wisconsin, Michigan, and Florida. I would say that it doesn't matter who wins the Democratic primary. They will both have a shot at winning all three of these states and that would be enough to bring an end to the era of Trump.

Considering how he won the swing states last time, the controversy over his efforts to cut immigration might be enough for any Democratic candidate to win the swing states this year too.

I am not going to blame black people for this. I’m blaming the corporate establishment. They have successfully brain washed and fear mongered people into voting against their best interests yet again.
as a mixed race person I have to say I am very dissapointed in the black support for Biden. It's like they are still trying to cling on to anything Obama. He is not running for heaven's sake !!! and he wasn't that good for black people anyways !!!

Its disheartening to see how easily people can be manipulated. The majority of these people cannot be as clued up on politics as people on these type of forums. I bet most people haven't even watched any debates, they probably dont even know anything other than "he was Obama's vice Prez"

What a shame.

Not really. His immigration agenda is popular in swing states. You think working class people in PA want their state flooded with refugees and illegals?

Black people are easily to manipulate and low information people by and large. They carried Hillary last time too.
A lot of white people are easy to manipulate as well. Just say some racist shit, and they are sold. What do you think happened in 2016 ? It wasn't smart people who voted for Trump. Didn't Trump brag about getting stupid people to vote for him ?

The immigration issue is mainly centered around border states. PA is not usually a state where this issue centers, because it is not on the border and the US has not really been affected the refugee situation happening in other countries. Statistically, 6.5 percent of PA is made up of immigrants. https://www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org/research/immigrants-in-pennsylvania

I have not seen anything saying that the border states are supporting Trump in regard to immigration. All I have seen is that it is an issue that is pretty well split with as much as 50 percent offended by his approach and possibly 50 percent that thinks being offended by it is an exaggeration of how bad it is. However, no one is praising Trump's approach in significant numbers, which suggests that the swing states are open to new possibilities this year.

And swing states don't want more. Border states are split because of all the non whites who have already gotten in those states. I think we all know how whites in Arizona feel about the issue by and large.

the elites are setting up an easy win for Trump.

the Democratic party deserves everything comming to them in November.

But honestly I dont think they are trying to win. Just like 2016 the real election was the Democratic Primary. Once Sanders was sidelined, they could all breathe easy.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this because I had come out strong against people who said this in the past, but I kind of want Trump to win to wake all these idiots up, I am so dissapointed right now.

well my suspicions about Fox News and a lot of the Republican operatives going soft on Bernie over the last few months seems to be correct. I think THEY KNOW that Biden is going to be the nominee, and I think they are trying to show sympathy for Sanders in an attempt to either steal some of his voters or keep them at home in November.

Trump went to get dirt on Biden in Ukraine, before he even officially announced his candidacy. They knew ahead of time the fix was in to set up Biden as an easy Trump victory. Watch all these new scandals pop up in the general election. I think they are setting up for a lanslide.
