“What does it mean to have fallen from grace?

a situation in which you do something that makes people in authority stop liking you or admiring you: The judge's fall from grace gave his enemies great satisfaction.”

Galatians 5

4Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. 5For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Another example of people taking words and phrases from the bible and removing some of the meaning?
e.g. falling from grace means we have fallen into sin. Legalism can be one of them.

I imagine a scenario where a someone is told by a parent to wait in the car and they will be back in a few minutes. If the person thinks “I bet they won’t come back, I will go and look for them” they have “fallen from trust”

To “fall from grace” is to cease trusting in God’s grace for justification and retreat into attempts for justification by works of the law instead, I.e, retreating from or discounting grace.
