Socialism doesn't "always cause harm"

If this were true, then why does the United States and their western partners always have to sanction socialist nations and try to isolate them from the world economy ?

If Socialism were "destined to fail", they wouldn't need to wage economic warfare on these countries like they always have done throughout history.

The problems with "socialist countries" usually have been sanctions and outward interference and sabotage.

No socialist country has ever been treated with respect as an open trading partner and not been attacked in some way of fashion.

Again you cannot attack a country, isolate and sanction it and then blame their economic system for any ensuing problems.

OK, when you say “socialist”, do you mean the Scandinavian countries that all the Berners keep insisting are what they’re talking about? Because I don’t recall any of those “socialist” countries being sanctioned, or isolated economically.

Democratic socialist countries - which is what sanders is proposing - like Denmark are capitalist countries with robust safety nets/“socialist” programs in place. No, we don’t sanction them because they are still capitalist, just like sanders America would be

But arguing that “socialist” countries like Venezuela etc failed because of socialism alone (when they aren’t even actually socialist to begin with) isn’t an honest argument if you are ignoring the role western capitalist countries took in helping them fail - sanctions etc as described above.

These are two separate conversations which people like to try to hook together to muddy the waters and protect the establishment. It doesn’t work on people with any sort of education whatsoever - see the high proportion of educated people voting for sanders/warren.

They’ll try socialism here and then find out that it really was tried before and will find out firsthand why it doesn’t work...just like all the Californians leaving California because they messed it up to live in a better place that they will also mess up...those things never seem to change.

All anyone is proposing Lisa is the same tax scheme we had pre Reagan.

Please back up your silly talking point.

Cuba, USSR, Venezuela, Libya, Nicaragua, Vietnam

pick a country that was overthrown by the CIA during the cold war.
But Bernie says countries like that — none of which were overthrown by the US, at any time, by the way — were “authoritarian communist”, and not actually socialist at all.

Socialism or something close doesn't work in multicultural, heterogeneous societies. Too much disunity and distrust. Anyway, Bernie is cooked.

Your a little bit like a broken record huh?
Just the facts ma'am. I'll keep saying them until something changes. I wish I bookmarked the study about income inequality and demographics. Homogenuous countries respond to income inequality with government solutions. Heterogenuous countries respond by retreating even further into free markets.
