I think the issue is Hamas leadership are corrupt. There are verifiable accusations that Israel created Hamas.

But the majority of Hamas soldiers today are actually Palestinians living under the brutal occupation.

Hamas is just a broad label anyway. There are various anti-Israel groups there. Which stands to reason. For decades, Israel has literally targeted children.
