She is making those at the left foam at the mouth as well in that they are seeing the party in some respects go so far left that they will not get the votes needed next election. There are plenty of dems that do not like her ways. As for a college degree...it meant something years ago but now you are simply getting in debt for perceived stature in life. I will be the first to admit that recent college grads have not lived enough real life to get politics fully. It doesn't matter, for there is no way she wins any election unless we have all been drugged and dumbed down further. And that would be pretty bad in that we already live in a dumbed down society controlled and distracted by divide.
@Colonel Valerio It's not just right-wingers, though. She is making the entire power structure foam at the mouth, including the establishment democrats, because her ideas are a major threat to that structure and its concentrated wealth and influence.

@The Zone Describing her as "far left" is actually "far from reality". She only seems "far left" because of the Overton window and because of media gaslighting. On the real political spectrum that exists in reality, she is nowhere near the extreme left, she just isn't a centrist like most dems, and refuses to pay lip service to centrist ideologies just to win votes, which pisses off the democrats for obvious reasons.

Look! There is no way Bernie would have won in a landslide with all the protests on his followers part and socialism. That is quite a spin that sure as heck cannot be proven. By this logic, he is running again and will romp over Trump? The reason many overlook Trumps issues is that he at least slowed the PC roll and that is enough for many voters to stay with him. Hillary is not a centrist. She is what the dems were at one time, plenty left without going all the way there.
Like I mentioned in the other thread, this is just how the media spins it: "socialism" is a divisive word so obviously they will use it as much as possible.

What don't you see Faker? I never said Hillery was far left, I said the party had moved far left and she was once considered left enough but now a centrist within her party which is going far left as hard as it can. So, let's keep quotes accurate and not ad-libbed. *unintentional humor on ad lib(eral). And no need for the snide pictures. You can make a point with words.

So, Bernie Sanders will defeat Donald Trump in the coming election. Maybe, I need more Kool-Aid or just wishful thinking for there is no way on earth America will elect a socialist this go round. I think that is major wishful thinking on the part of three posters here who are pretty wrapped up in leftist politics.

He isn’t a socialist. He’s a democratic socialist and I really wish people would stop using the terms interchangeably, they are not the same thing. Not even a little bit.

In every head to head poll they ran last cycle Bernie beat trump by a wide margin, far ahead of Hilary’s projections . So who knows but maybe. They are appealing to the same economic insecurities of voters, he’s historically been NRA friendly, he’s a white male, and he’s a Washington outsider or atleast was for the vast majority of his career. I think personally it would be a close fight.

And I prefer to go by my gender pronoun of Surf Master. That still makes me just the Zone, at the end of the day. I love the labels that many on the left create and support. Not really, I don't, nor do others and that is why socialist is still unelectable in reality.

That’s apples and oranges bro... they are two ydifferent ideologies and by calling him a socialist when he isn’t one you are ascribing beliefs to him that he doesn’t hold.

That would be like calling you a Jew when your a Christian.

There are plenty of countries that are shining examples of democratic socialism and if someone could point out a legitimate failing or even concern with any of these countries I’d be willing to reconsider but as it stands this is nothing but fear mongering using a boogie man word from another time to influence uneducated people into voting against their best interests.

Trump is down 13.1 on average in polls and people are waking up to the fact that his tax scam is only good for the rich. When the working man get's his tax returns back this and year and gets less or owes it's only going to get worse. Healthcare is consistently polling at the top of people's priorities and universal is popular with the people, so is student debt relief and many others from Sanders' platform.

True, Trump will try and demagogue "socialism" (it's why Venezuela is the news ) and abortion ( this will drive the most ignorant group of voters to the polls, Christians ) but people will see through it. Anyone will beat Trump unless there is a war or a terrorist attack, but Sanders is best positioned. He has enthusiasm that HRC lacked and in a week 1million people as volunteers and over 10m dollars from the people.

Oops, I wasn't talking about Hillary, I was referring to AOC, whom you referred to as "far left". Sorry for the mix up. Also, the Clintons have always been centrist democrat.

This is exactly what the establishment wants you to think since it's beneficial to their agenda. Bernie is not a de facto socialist, he is democratic socialist, as already mentioned above.

I stopped reading your post Colonel when you said a policy was only good for rich boys like me. Rich boys? That seemed personal.

I'm sure you have heard worse on here, even from myself. Lighten up man and don't be such a snowflake. It is the truth that the tax scam is good for people in your brackets and not for anyone else.

I edited my post for your feelings.

I will not point out the comedy of you calling me a snowflake, but simply want to see the forum stay more civil as it has been of late. There was a lot of toxicity here a short while back that we are all digging out from. All comments from certain types were personal before and it set a bad precedent for discussion.

I do not have a horse in this race but.....
That is really an unfair characterization of another human being.
People like Cortez are trying to bring some of the benefits that many countries in Europe including Canada have.
There is no need to portray them as thoughtless.
The US military gets unnecessary and increasing funding from public purses at the expense of important public works and meaningful public programs. Programs that many other western countries have deemed important for their polity.
Socialist third parties can play a role in regulating unfettered capitalism. Both sides should check the excesses of the other.

I'm sorry, but she is young, and until recently, a nobody, with no apparent knowledge or experience in anything, who has presented America with a ridiculous Green New Deal. The following is a direct quote:

Like I just introduced the Green New Deal two weeks ago, and it's creating all of this conversation. Why? Because no one else has even tried. Because no one else has even tried. So people are like, 'Oh it's unrealistic. Oh it's vague. Oh it doesn't address this little minute thing,'" she added. "And I'm like, 'You try. You do it. Cuz you're not. Cuz you're not. So, until you do it, I'm the boss.' How about that?

I don't think calling her thoughtless is unfair at all.

I love Canada and I am grateful and proud to live here, but we have a guy just like her as our Prime Minister right now, and it makes me want to cry. He's wasting our money and doing no good at all, just like Ocasio-Cortez will when they give her some tax dollars and some real power. We don't need clueless and arrogant leaders with no experience telling us their way is the only way.

....but hold on you have been shamelessly lauding Trump on this very forum as "doing a great job". As a Christian Zionists you have virtually gloated over the current status quo.
So this bold statement makes you a hypocrite....at best.

Well you seem to love the choice I provided.

Congress is supposed to be to represent the interests of the people in their districts. I think shes doing fine at that and her constituents seem to agree, if they don’t they will vote her out next time. Are you familiar with her district?

I’m bored waiting for a snow plow so I can go to work so I’ll just give you a little idea about her district..

Cortez represents the 14th district of NY, which is comprised of parts of queens and the Bronx. It is mostly hard working middle and lower class people, lots of immigrants and minorities and if the worst predictions about climate change come true an area that will be significantly impacted if not entirely unlivable due to coastal flooding (nyc is a coastal island and most is anticipated to be under water if nothing is done, especially the poorer outskirts areas where nyc itself has not dedicated flood barriers in their own budget)

Considering the demographics and specific concerns of the area she is representing she is doing exactly what she is supposed to.
