in a way Christianity has human sacrifice and eating. People drink wine and eat wafers as if they are the blood and flesh of Jesus. People nail themselves to crosses and whip themselves for their religion. It seems very dark and evil.
this does not seem like the religion of love

then theres the fact if Jesus is real, he was against wealth, pro helping the poor and quite modern when it comes to womens rights. Can we say any christian religion follows his teachings

The current pope does try to be less ostentatious than the last but i dont know i dont trust him. Protestants (the middle image) try to be less like the Catholics but still horde money and well the mormons...

Can we really believe the people who brought us witch trials, tribe/native slaughter and the Spanish inquisition are the good guys?

I have the below book and it goes into detail about the history of the bible and well it is really dark

I see a bunch of sheep following something so blind. It’s no different than the supposed trust voters put in the government.

Just remember though. Mistrust means you’re paranoid according to captain kirk

oh god atheism isnt much better and is pretty much a religion in its own right and has led to what this forum was about. Atheists have replaced a god with transgenderism and sex
I tend not to call myself atheist because of this

Religion itself. Christianity, catholicism, muslim faith, hinduism, buddhism, norse pagan stuff. So many of it has similarities that really make you wonder how much is real within what you believe religion wise.

Then add in like so many other facets in society. Race, class, gender. Religion has that same tribal like mentality like

“I’m right, you’re wrong, so agree with me”.

It’s all so full of division and lures people in en mass

Religion is one of humanities worst mistakes. All it does is cause suffering, war and death. The fact the last 2000 years people have been fighting each other over the same god.

Prove that the verses you post are actually from Jesus. Prove historical accuracies. You don’t have a problem trying to bring down other religions. Funny how you seem to put down muslims, but are now referring to the quran. Hmm.

If I wasn't a Christian I'd probably be a muslim myself because I like its toughness..:)
But Jesus did stuff that Mohammed never did, like his 37 miracles which kind of gives him a supernatural edge which grabs me on a sci-fi level-

Jesus said- "Even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father" (John 10:38)

"Hey Lazarus mate, come on out of there"

Gotta admire that muslims only worship one God. That’s something I agree with.

Everything else has been around for hundreds of years. It’s hard for me to think that any of that has not been tampered with

The stories in the bible were all word of mouth until written down sometimes thousands of years after the occasion, even the testaments of Jesus's disciples are either second/third hand accounts or written 60+ years AFTER Jesus was dead/ascended.Even all the churches admit this

1- Fact is, we know enough about the gospel writers to do a "This is Your Life' TV show about them..:)

Gospel-writers Matthew and John were disciples and wrote their gospels in c70 AD and c95AD, Mark wrote his c60AD, he was a friend of Jesus's right-hand man Peter, and Luke wrote his c65AD, was a friend of Paul who spoke with the risen Jesus.

Matthew, formerly Levi (Mark 2:14; Luke 5:27) son of Alpheus, was formerly a tax collector (Luke 5:29-30) one of the 12 apostles handpicked by Jesus (Matthew 9:9), he wrote his gospel between c.60 and 80 AD after Mark wrote his first.

Mark, a friend of Jesus's righthand man Peter (1 Peter 5:13) also called John, Mark was a cousin of Barnabas (Colossians 4:10), a helpful co-worker of Paul (2 Timothy 4:11), and wrote his gospel c.60AD not long after some Apostolic Letters were written: i.e., James, Galatians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Corinthians, and Romans. His mother was one of the Marys (Acts 12:12) from an influential and probably wealthy family, and so some speculated that the last supper was held in their home and that he was the young man in Mark 14:51-52 which is not in the other accounts.

Luke, a doctor (Col 4:14) and a gentile convert (Luke 1:2) probably by Paul who became his traveling companion (Acts 17:1; 20:5, 6-21:18 ). He wrote his gospel c.65 AD.

John the disciple, (John 13:23) son of Zebedee, the brother of James the "greater" (Matthew 4:21; 10:2; Mark 1:19; 3:17; 10:35) wrote his gospel c.95AD, the last to be written before Revelation. Also from a wealthy family (Mark 1:20; Luke 5:3; John 19:27). His mother was probably Salome (Matthew 27:56; Mark 15:40). He was one of the closest disciples to Jesus among the twelve (Matthew 17:1; 26:37; Mark 5:37; 13:3). He was zealous (Matthew 20:20-24; Mark 3:17; 10:35-41; Luke 9:49, 54). He became one of the leaders of the Jerusalem Church (Acts 15:6; Galatians 2:9) and of the seven churches in Asia (Revelation 1:11). He was banished to the island of Patmos where he wrote Revelation.

The catholic church may be dirty but the protestant church isnt much better
Protestant, Catholic, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism etc bore me out of my skull because I'm non-denominational and don't go to church because I don't need any of them to do my thinking for me..:)
Jesus said:-"You have one teacher, me" (Matt 23:10)
"And the common people heard him gladly" (Mark 12:37)
"There is one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ" (1 Tim 2:5)
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Heb 12:2)

And protestants really care about women? yeah there are women in the priesthood but they have still been brutal to women. Salem and the witchfinder general were protestant, all the witch trials in the UK, US and many in Europe were protestant led...

Whoa, forget organised religions and take the advice of the early Christians-
"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Heb 12:2)

Jesus showed how to treat women proper-

And naturally women LURVED him to bits-
"Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed his last. There were also women looking on from afar, among whom were Mary Magdalene and Salome, who followed him and ministered to him when he was in Galilee, and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem" (Mark 15:37)

Some of his followers ran off in fear of the Romans but women stuck with him to the end-

Nah mate it wan't Kirk, the bloke in that "own salvation" clip is Avon in Blakes Seven..:)

Mind you, speaking of Star Trek, its creator Roddenberry was a "sort of" atheist but at least he had the good sense not to ban religion from the show-

Religion in Star Trek

An alien 'god' demands Kirk worships him but Kirk replies-"Mankind has no need of gods, we find the One quite adequate" (OST: 'Who Mourns for Adonais")

McCoy says 'Lord forgive me" when he kills an alien with a phaser blast that's taken the form of an attractive human woman. (OST: The Man Trap)

The rebels on Magna Roma, a nearly perfect "Parallel Earth", seem to worship the "sun", which Uhura discovers is actually God's "Son" Jesus. (OST: "Bread and Circuses").

In the wedding chapel on the Enterprise we can see a sort of altar and some religious symbols, among them a cross (OST: "Balance of Terror").

The computer M-5 states: "Murder is contrary to the laws of man and God" (OST: "The Ultimate Computer").

Dr. Ozaba quotes from the Bible- "In His hands are the deep places of the Earth. Psalm 95, verse 4." (OST: "The Empath").

Spock, traveling back in time to save his own life, presents himself to his parents as a cousin making a ritual journey "to honor our gods". (TAS: "Yesteryear").

Vulcans, like many other races, believe in a spiritual place from which they as a people were born. Their name for this place is Sha Ka Ree ("Star Trek V")

Edith Keeler runs a Christian mission and soup kitchen in New York in the 1930s (TOS: "The City on the Edge of Forever")

There is a mention of a Christmas party (TOS: "Dagger of the Mind")

The Caldos Colony includes a church or chapel and we can hear the attendees say "Amen" (TNG: "Sub Rosa")

Kilana asks Sisko: "Do you have any gods, captain?" He replies- "There are things I believe in." (DS9: "The Ship")

Sisko recites from the Bible to his son's surprise. He also appears as a priest in Ben's hallucination (DS9: "Far Beyond the Stars")

Kasidy says she would like to have a priest to perform the wedding ceremony (DS9: "Penumbra")

Captain Saavik asks Admiral Kirk for suggestions. He replies- "Prayer, the Klingons don't take prisoners" (Wrath of Khan)

A church in VOY "Spirit Folk"-

Picard celebrates Christmas with his family in the Nexus ("Star Trek Generations")-

I believe you should research the Catholics role (with a focus on Jesuit teachings) in modern Christianity. Emphasis on the word “modern”.

These behaviors aren’t found in the Bible yet Catholics have done a really good job in screwing up interpretations, taking out books that expose them (the apocrypha) and spreading false doctrine (like the rapture) for modern day, ignorant, money hungry pastors to teach to their poor congregations.

Catholicism is high level satanism, in my opinion. Very powerful how they have made the whole world drunk with lies....
