It may seem unrelated, but I think allot of it has to do with the normalization of murder and war through entertainment. If you can get a society to become desensitized to mass murder you can normalize anything, because by then you have already numbed their conscience to one of the darkest things a person can be exposed to which is a gruesome murder scene. Think of how many murders and how much blood and guts the average person has seen(on television) by the time they reach adulthood. There was a study done that pointed out hundreds. It was before television that you could go your entire life without seeing someone shot or maimed or desecrated. Now it's an everyday thing on Netflix.
This is why the Bible tells us to guard our heart, because it can be hardened by evil. It's a shock and awe the elite use to desensitize us to everything.

...as a kid I knew what my parents watched and listened to was dark. Kids can see things more clearly in allot of respects, because their hearts are still innocent and not subverted by darkness. The heart changes the longer you subject yourself to evil. I used to listen to gangster rap. I knew it was evil but soon enough my heart had become so callous I was no longer offended by it. The vast majority of people have been subjected to the perverse, twisted, vile, and obscene for so long that they no longer see anything wrong. We now only shrug and say "so what?!" at the things past generations would be repulsed by.
