Yep, in 2016 USA watched Foxnews or CNN (red vs. blue) all night for the Donald Trump victory over Hillary Clinton- allegedly was one of the closest in the country’s history with Trump losing the popular vote by 3 million but winning the electoral college 304-227.
2020; Biden -doesn't campaign at all, slurred speeches and wins. No more will I stay up all night anxiously watching the news showing one candidate winning, only to be told another is the winner in the future headlines. Yes, I think it will be a circus, a possible insurrection, as before. 2020 Biden wasn't the first seemingly fake/staged/stolen election, remember the Bush recount in
2000? It was a long wait period of
vote recounting in
Florida weeks after
Election Day in the Presidential race between
George W. Bush and
Al Gore. The Florida vote was ultimately settled in Bush's favor by a margin of 537 votes out of 5,825,043 cast when the
U.S. Supreme Court, in
Bush v. Gore, stopped a recount that had been initiated upon a ruling by the
Florida Supreme Court. Bush's win in Florida gave him a majority of votes in the
Electoral College and victory in the presidential election.
Or, for us older people, Kennedy (who was later murdered in Dallas) every one said the S. Giancana Chicago mob got him voted in the
1960 United States presidential election in Illinois took place on November 8, 1960, the nation's second-closest race following
Hawaii,
Illinois was won by
Senator John F. Kennedy (
D–
Massachusetts), running with Senator
Lyndon B. Johnson, with 49.98% of the popular vote against
incumbent Vice President
Richard Nixon (
R–
California), running with former
United States Ambassador to the United Nations Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr., with 49.80% of the popular vote, a margin of victory of only 0.18%.
[3][4] As of 2020 this is the last time that a Democrat would win Illinois by only a single digit margin of victory.
