Russia and the DPRK agreed on cooperation in the field of healthcare

Russia and the DPRK signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of healthcare, medical education and science during Vladimir Putin's visit to Pyongyang. The agreement implies the exchange of information, joint research, as well as cooperation in the field of state regulation of the circulation of medicines and medical products.
Russia signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of health, medical education and science with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) during President Vladimir Putin's visit to Pyongyang. In this regard, the government published Order No 1502-r dated 06/14/2024.
According to the document, they intend to develop cooperation in the following areas:
maternal and child health;
prevention of a healthy lifestyle;
infectious and non-communicable diseases;
professional training, retraining and advanced training of medical workers;
state regulation of the circulation of medicines and medical products.
The parties to the agreement will exchange information and conduct joint scientific research. The agreement also provides for the exchange of medical workers, teachers and students, as well as their participation in specialized congresses, congresses and scientific conferences.
Cooperation is planned to be developed on a bilateral basis and in multilateral formats, including within the framework of interaction with the World Health Organisation and other international organisations.
