Yea V does look kind of Arabic or partly southern European. And I have considered plastic surgery. But the guys still look like themselves predebut. And to top it off, plastic surgeons have said most of the guys have likely had little to no work done. I think their makeup plays a role too though.
Makeup definitely accentuates facial features in both pleasant and unpleasant ways. I have a big nose for example, and a makeup artist I used to be friends with one day did a look on me for her portfolio, and she contoured my nose in such a way to make it look really narrow. I like my nose big personally, but I have yet to figure out how the frick she did it. Tanning, being well hydrated, hairstyles, being tired/fatigued, being sick, weight gain/loss, can all make a person look like they've had plastic surgery when they really haven't.
I think Tae is very unusual looking, not in a bad way, just not a typical Korean face. Asians like to insist the only way to tell Asian ethnicities apart is by accent and this is very far from the truth because each ethnic group has a predominant facial structure. Tae's eyes, and the roundness of the tip of his nose, are his only distinctively Korean features (that nose shape is super common among Koreans, nobody else seems to have that). Otherwise, Tae looks totally different from other Koreans.
If we look at NJ, YG, JK and even J!n, they are definitively Korean. NJ's eyes are unique for sure, but he's got the standard Korean face, same goes for YG just smaller. Tae and JM are the only who don't have typical Asian features at all. I'd love to know what an anthropologist thinks of their faces. I did study some anthropology so I maybe could jump into that, but I don't wanna make this post crazy long.
NJ had a nose job a few years ago, which he made a public post about right before he got it done. I think the only other thing he's had is maybe something with his chin or jaw, since the shape has changed significantly since debut.
I could go on forever about JH and how much plastic surgery I think he's had. Armpits insist he's never had a nose job but his nose looks totally different from when they first debuted. His cheeks and jawline look different too, regardless of what weight he is. He's had a ton of work done, you can clearly see it. JH was very handsome during their Dark & Wild album release, but after that nose job his whole face changed and he's never looked as handsome as he once was. There was a lot of internet bullying, especially on twitter, regarding JH. If that bullying drove him to ruin his face I wouldn't be surprised. Like, I will never tell people what they can and cannot do with their body, when it is their choice and not due to outside influence. (And why people thought he was ugly back then, before surgery is beyond me. That man was attractive and those people were delusional).
As far as JM is concerned, I don't know what the hell is going on with his face! He clearly gets botox, like, he takes stiff to the next level. But his features tend to be morphological, like at different times he's looked shockingly different and then he'll reappear looking less stiff and like he hasn't had surgery at all, and it confuses the crap out of me. Also, the filters he uses on his selfies to make himself look younger and also like his eyes are Caucasian instead of epicanthic, annoys the snot out of me.
I don't think J!n, YG, or Tae have had plastic surgery, though I do think for a while in 2021 and 2022 YG was getting botox injections. It's kinda obvious with how unnaturally stiff his face was. I do recall him complaining about wrinkles in livestreams over the years. Wrinkles that I don't even see...
I think Hive might be obsessed with YG appearing ultra young and being very thin/petite. He's talked about being bullied by Hive staff on two separate occasions to stop gaining weight because they're worried he won't fit his stage clothing. Like, who gives a crap? Buy new clothes! Thing is, when YG was bulking up a couple years ago, his popularity rose, and people were talking less about JK (internet search stats from 2020, 2021 ad 2022 back this up). So I really think Hive don't want him to ever look masculine, and want him to keep on with the petite, dare I say "twink" appearance. A lot of armpits have this obsession with fanart that depicts YG being ultra smaller than the bandmate they're pairing him with, and they draw him childlike too (They claim it is "size kink", but what they are drawing is NOT size kink). It's pretty obvious what they are trying to portray there, and it's sick. The fact that Hive wants to feed that is even sicker.
If we look at the album photos for the Young Forever album, in every photo they are dressed like school boys and look insanely "young", even though at the time they were all in their early and mid-twenties. But any of them could've passed as teenagers in those photos. And I refuse to believe that it goes along with the album name, because it's one thing out of a history of things Hive has done to make these guys look young and innocent and fair, to obviously appeal to predators.
