I don't think these places have any effect on some hearts, if that was the reality why people living in heart of Saudi are stone-hearted. Don't get me wrong, there are millions of poor Muslims who can't afford to get to offer a hajj and umrah. Allah is everywhere and he will give hidaya to whom he wills. I've seen many superficial Muslim who acts so pious after a hajj and umrah but do not take care of their fellow human rights, take away properties of their women. For me , a Gazan calling Alhamdullilah after their kids death is better Muslim compared to these so called rich Saudis performing hajj , umrah every year. Allah will not accept worship of hypocrites.
