This reminds me of a rumor I heard recently, perhaps here in VC, about how somebody snuck a rider into the budget bill that passed in Congress recently, to nullify whatever law was passed in the 80's/90's to make genetic mutations of this sort illegal.

I looked into it, and idk if the story got warped, or "they" are cleansing the internet of original info, but that doesn't appear to be what happened. Apparently, some random congressman introduced a bill in 2005, making it illegal for anyone to use or introduce animal genetic material into human DNA, and vice versa. I know it sure didn't get any airplay in the news, or we all would have been like, "Yeah, that's a great idea. Pass that bill!"

As it turns out, the bill got NO attention from our other erstwhile representatives, and died in session, without even being voted on. WTF, right? So, while it's not technically legal for people to make chimeras, (human/animal hybrids), it's not technically illegal either, at least federally. Hopefully at least some of the states have seen to this, or we may have some serious issues in the near future. Especially if they're already "normalizing" it on tv. And of course, the chimeras in the show are children, so as to seem as cute and non-threatening as possible.

michael tsarion, in one his earlier lectures (in the alien and genetic manipulation CD set) claims that all this had been done before. all of those mythical beasts did indeed exist: the minotaurs, the centaurs... etc. they had been created by those beings who had helped create the adamic race.
here we are watching history repeat itself, with the descendants of these alien/beings on the cusp of doing the same thing again.
