In either case, even if I was “worried about money” - you support people who are trying to do the right thing. Because there is always someone worse off than you.

My town has a very high poverty rate and a lot of people that live here are hurting very badly right now. I am comparatively well off. You don’t take things for free just because you can, when it could be taking it away from someone who needs it more.
