INFJ here! Took the test four times in a span of several months and came up with the same result so I'm going with that although I agree with what JoChris said about the MBTI, post #322. Also, confession: I used to wonder if I was crazy before I learned I was an INFJ which really helped me start on my journey of self-discovery. Anyway, this is a cool and fun thread and I'm glad I found it. I haven't studied the other personality types as much as my own so this is a great place to start! I've already learned so much! :D
Another INFJ I see.

Mysterious.

I understand the F means "feelings".

Feelings are something mysterious. And dangerous.

*considers whether feelings should be outlawed... is leaning towards "yes"*

What exactly do INFJ do? They think with feelings?

*is baffled*

ahem!!!!!!!!!!! ahem!

I thought you were INTJ???????????

you are INFJ?

*puzzled*

this is exactly why I haven't taken the test since high school. I don't want to get a different result and end up confused.

*thinks about the INFJ personality type*

*thinks some more*

*is baffled too*

*is also super torn between whether feelings should be outlawed or not*

In other words, I'm a walking paradox. Because I have super strong and sensitive emotions, I'm an empath but at the same time, I'm brutally and chillingly logical and no-nonsense which also makes me a psycho. But to answer your question, yes and no (in my case). Yes cuz I use both thinking and feeling a lot and sometimes actually them at the same time but also no because usually, although depending on the situation, I use thinking and hard logic. I hope I didn't just confuse you more :p Feel free to ask any more questions, now's your chance! ;)

I am shocked. @JoChris should get credit because she actually called it.

I'm surprised. It makes sense, though. I'm a lot different than I was in high school. My personality has changed. It's weird- I feel younger as I get older.

Listen- you sound confusing. I know you can't see my facial expression but I am thinking about giving a stern look of disapproval. That post is really confusing and I haven't read most of it because I saw it was confusing. Stop being confusing.

*is confused by INF people*

Well that explains why you seem excessively logical to me..... and why I kept having to correct from INTJ :p:D

Edit: My result now:

Introvert(75%) Intuitive(31%) Feeling(19%) Perceiving(12%)

  • You have distinct preference of Introversion over Extraversion (75%)
  • You have moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing (31%)
  • You have slight preference of Feeling over Thinking (19%)
  • You have slight preference of Perceiving over Judging (12%)

My mother is INFJ. I know what you mean exactly. We are similar but very different.
Do you feel an intense need for control, planning and organization? I am her polar opposite in that area.

E.g. My messy house would stress her out big time!

My apologies. I saw a question and I tried to provide an answer and obviously did not succeed very well. To put it very simply, an INFJ is the nicer, more confusing version of INTJ who overthinks all the time. Be glad you are not one of us!

Yes! I pretty much always need a plan and a purpose in order to do just about anything. What type did you say you were btw?

You're fine, I was just expressing my incomprehension of the INF types. I think my thinking is dominated by logic. It is true I have feelings.... somewhere. But my personality is more dominated by logic I think and..... emotional stuff puzzles me.

Now, that is something which intrigues and confuses me. I guess I had always been super aware of my emotions ever since I was little I didn't really stop to think about those who might be different than myself (oops). I mean, I can totally understand a personality dominated by logic but not understanding one's feelings? I don't know who's more confusing here, hehe

:D:D very apt for this thread.
Here’s How You Feel About Contradictions, Based on Your Personality Type

https://personalitygrowth.com/heres-how-you-feel-about-contradictions-based-on-your-personality-type/

INFJ

INFJs are in and of themselves a contradiction, it is simply a part of who they are. INFJs are paradoxical people, with opposing qualities that are completely baffling to others. While the INFJ can seem distant and withdrawn, they are extremely caring and affectionate. While they believe in others, they often struggle to truly believe in themselves. They can sometimes even give advice that contradicts their own behaviors, simply because they have a hard time really inspiring themselves in this way.

(am so not like that btw...…….

INTJ

INTJs definitely do not appreciate contradicting behaviors, and strive to be stable. They don’t like to do things that contradict their words or their inner beliefs, and will certainly not appreciate this in others. Someone who consistently contradicts themselves is someone the INTJ does not want to be around. While they do not like contradicting actions, that is not quite the same as someone who possess contradicting or paradoxical qualities. INTJs do sometimes certainly appreciate people who have qualities that appear a bit contradicting, since those are their natural traits and this can even be intriguing.

much better......

Looks like we're pretty much polar opposites on this one. Thank you for that! Don't know about everyone else but trying to understand other's perspectives this way is fascinatingly eye-opening. Maybe its cuz I'm so open to contradictions?
