World War is unlikely, since it will almost certain end with nuclear exchange, which is game over for everyone. No matter what plans and schemes the powers that be have, even they would be unlikely to survive it... And if they did, there wouldn't be a whole lot left to rule... Even after the fallout clears, there wouldn't be much to rule. And that's if in-fighting doesn't kill them off in mean time.


So no, I don't think WWIII is in the works.
