With the world’s eyes on Afghanistan, how does the Taliban represent Islam?

I left when I felt like I had simply had enough of the arguments and the clashes of world-view that are the bread and butter of this place. 11,111 posts seemed like as good a number to leave on as any.

however…

A certain passage came to my mind….

Genesis 7 verse 13 says “on the very same day” that the rain began to fall on the earth, Noah and his family entered the ark. Everyone came through the one door on the ark. Others were invited, but only those whom God said would come entered in. Only those who were called entered in through the one door.

Then, verse 16 tells us that “The Lord shut him in.

What came over to me was that despite me finding some people difficult or rude, I don’t get to call time on them. Noah didn’t shut the door, God did.

Grace is at the core of the Gospel. The Lord has shown it to me, and I am supposed to show it to others, which means the door stays open.
Whatever you say Red. Fact is you said "goodbye" but went no where.

Interesting how you posted this, the daily fail.. and Seek liked it.

While those without an agenda might actually take a look into Russia and the Taliban and get a better idea of what the Taliban is all about. You know, the non-ZIonist version.

Taliban is all about persecuting christians.

We are watching for things according to bible prophecy which once again seem to be eerily taking shape. Exciting times. The Bible keeps on proving itself as the word of God.

2- As for lying, you said I use porn and prostitutes.
Prove it, because if you can't, it makes you a liar plain and simple, and the internet is of course a fibbers paradise.
As Hamlet ruefully observed "It is as easy as lying"..:)
Speaking of porn, it certainly got my pulse racing in my younger days, but I later simply got bored with it because it was so cold and loveless.

In my younger days I tried going with prostitutes but it was so cold, loveless and unromantic that I soon gave it up.

So who is Tidal? The world may never know...
I've even announced multiple times that I'm in Houston TX.

1- Haha you're a funny guy..:)
I've posted pics of me and my street in Plymouth UK, and even a video of myself swaggering on the Hoe, and I've posted multiple anecdotes from my life.

2- I wish you'd tell us why you ditched Jesus, as I'm sure we'd all be interested to know for interest's sake.
All we know is that you say you're in Houston and you used to be a christian but you converted to Islam.
If you think Islam can get you to God, you may have a problem..:)

Maybe because i wasnt a complete and total asshole attacking a dozen members at once? Ya know, kinda like you.
When people remember you for the bad things, what does that say about you?

Much like your "taliban rhetoric" when you've been on VC for years and there has Always been a Muslim presence here. Still you choose ignorance.

Nope, i come from a small town of about 3000 people. All of them Christian....
Tidal admits to using porn and prostitutes....
....I've caught him lying several times

1- Whoa mate, you said in another post that you're in Houston which I always thought was a big city. Are there only 3000 people there?.. :p

2- I openly admitted to having used porn and prossies in my younger days, but you imply I'm still using it.
Be careful or it's the naughty step for you for twisting the truth..;)

3- What exactly do you claim I've lied about?

Tidal is super old and probably has dementia like Biden, it seems not a word you're saying is getting through to him. Probably a waste of time to keep arguing with him I doubt he's ever going to change

1. Would you like my life story? I was born in Indiana (small town USA), about 1200 miles north.
I moved to Houston around 2010. I've mentioned these things before several times.

2. Were you born a Christian? I think we both know the answer is yes, so you watched porn as a Christian, you hired prostitutes as a Christian. Which highlights my point, of "western" drawing away from God.

Lets go back 2000 years. Would Jesus, ever, Ever entertain the idea of using a prostitute?

I don't know how else to say it other then religion is continually being watered down. More are doing "what thou wilt" rather then holding to Gods commands such as pork being impure.

3. Without going back to look anything up, how about you saying Catholic priests are not Christian to only a day ago calling them a credit to Christianity. Which is it Tidal?

You might not believe it but sometimes people read what you say, and actually remember some of it. Such as your claim of 1/2 of Christians (Catholics) not being Christian at all.

The tangled web we weave... when we practice to deceive. .. then again maybe you're becoming senile?

Peace Tidal.

I'm joking with u man. I was being sanctified and still am.

What's right is right regardless of who they are.

Alot has happened since the old forums. It's not a rhetoric it's an opinion on this issue.

The CIA bribed warlords with viagra so they could r*pe more little boys.

"The reality is that America lost its war in Afghanistan more than a decade ago, roughly around the time when CIA officers began bribing aging warlords with Viagra. The Americans knew all about the young boys the tribal leaders kept in their camps; because the sex drug helped Afghan elders r*pe more boys more often, they were beholden to America’s clandestine service. Losing Afghanistan then is the least of it. When you choose to adopt a foreign cohort’s cultural habits, customs for which the elders of your own tribe would ostracize and perhaps kill you, you have lost your civilization."

Ibn Khaldun's theory of history, described in his Muqaddimah, explains how the monotheistic nomadic tribesmen overturned a weak and luxurious sedentary culture.

There is no mystery about why the U.S. experience in Afghanistan ended in failure, embarrassment, and scandal. Nor is it a mystery why the Taliban took over Kabul so quickly. They were fighting for primacy. Their victory was foreordained.

The medieval Arab historian Ibn Khaldun explains the dynamic in his 14th-century masterwork, Al Muqaddima. History, he shows, is a repetition of the same pattern seen throughout the ages—a group of nomadic tribesmen overturn an existing sedentary culture, a civilization that has become weak and luxurious. What drives the success of the rising tribe is its group solidarity, or assabiya. Its awareness of itself as a coherent people with a drive for primacy is frequently augmented by religious ideology. The stronger the tribe’s assabiya, the stronger the group. Assimilating the conquered by imposing its will and worldview on them, the victor lays the foundations of a new civilization. But since, as Ibn Khaldun writes, “the goal of civilization is sedentary culture and luxury,” all groups carry the seeds of their own demise.

And so the struggle begins anew.

...

It’s frightening to see American leadership pulling America apart at the seams. And it’s shocking to see our constitutional order ripped to shreds as the establishment undercuts property rights, imposes capricious public health regulations, mandates experimental medical treatments, and holds political prisoners. But the lesson of Ibn Khaldun is that these destructive policies are simply indications that a cycle that has been repeated through the ages is once again in motion. To watch history erupt in our own timeline is indeed terrifying, but it is part of the natural order of human societies.

“Their prowess disappears as Time feasts on them,” Ibn Khaldun wrote of dying regimes. “They reach their limit, the limit that is set by the nature of human urbanization and political superiority.” Evidence of the establishment’s decay is everywhere you look—the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, the public health bureaucracy’s failed COVID response, even Obama’s 60th birthday. Who would publicly celebrate leadership of an effort to split a nation on behalf of a sectarian gang that is only kept from each other’s throats by driving them at a much larger force, one made more cohesive and angry by the elite’s incessant attacks? Only a deracinated and delirious regime would parade an assortment of celebrities from the worlds of entertainment and politics to demonstrate its self-arrogated superiority in front of a nation it locked down, bankrupted, and mocked—only an intoxicated elite with no one left to take away the car keys.

By definition, the numbers are always against elites—they consist of small coteries of leadership and their needy retinues. The success, indeed survival, of any elite depends on its ability to cultivate and maintain group solidarity. To make public demonstrations of breaking assabiya means they are forfeiting the privilege of leadership, which therefore, as Ibn Khaldun wrote, will pass to another branch of the same nation. While the ruling regime falls apart, he wrote, “the group feeling of other people (within the same nation) is strong. Their force cannot be broken. Their emblem is recognized to be victorious. As a result, their hopes of achieving royal authority, from which they had been kept until now by a superior power within their own group, are high. Their superiority is recognized, and, therefore, no one disputes their claim to royal authority. They seize power.”

We are part of history unfolding before us, as it has throughout time. But to be clear, what we are witnessing is not the end of America. It’s just the end of this particular branch of American leadership.

Nobody is “born a Christian”!

Right, babies are born with an innocent clean slate, but it's only later that they tend towards christianity unless its been hammered out of them by spiritual pollution from nonchristian parents and teachers and the corrupt perverse world that we live in-
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this....to keep oneself from being polluted by the world" (James 1:27)

@Daze - you asked @Tidal ”Were you born a Christian? I think we both know the answer is yes”

Nobody is “born a Christian”!
As a Muslim i believe everyone is born a Muslim. Whether they be Christian, Hindu, ect. The fitrah is the soul knows there is no god but God. Deviance comes from society, whether it be parents, school, ect.

But lets consider it from a non religious perspective. If a child has 2 Christian parents, they will be Christian, atleast until they can talk. If they have 2 parents who worship the trees the child will worship trees. Ect.

I don't need to explain this, a child imitates life around them, then end up worshiping what there parents worship, hence "born Christian".

Seeing Tidal is born in England, 70 years ago, there is a high possibility his parents are Christian.

I thought it was Christian belief that babies were born in sin?
