Will 2020 Election Result in Civil War 2.0?

I'm really not sure... it'll depend not just on who wins, but on whether the results are contested, on whether there's a supreme court ruling at that point, who that ruling would be in favor of, and how the public reacts to either the result or the ruling, whichever's final... and then there's the issues of voter obstruction, real and imagined, and how some politicians are even casting doubt on the mail-in system or trying to create new artificial deadlines. Then there's the role covid measures will play on balloting. Then there's the conflict between those who don't think Trump did enough about covid against those who are opposed to covid measures altogether, which creates yet another layer of division for America...on top of the racial and political division that's already present, and degenerating fast. It's just too many steps down the road, there are too many factors at play, to really know what's around the bend for America... and that remaining uncertainty is scary when the election is so soon. We can only hope for the best, and that whoever wins, Americans find a way to keep it a battle of wits and words, as politics should be. The alternative, violent unrest across the entire country, is horrifying to contemplate.

If Biden wins everything will more than likely get shut down... You basically know what your getting with him which is Obamas third term after a short 4 year break.

And at some point before his term ends, Kamela will step in due to his ailing health.

Truth is I dont think the elite are able to stir the kind of mass reaction they have been desiring to for so long. They need the majority of the population to be at the edge of their seat and invest all their emotions in this election and covid, because emotional people are easy to control. Its as someone pointed out though I believe at this point and time the general public is too comfortable and docile to react in the way the elite initially intended. If their nominee loses they can just go home and open a 6 pack and turn on their favorite sports team on their lazy boy and order a pizza. Its really only when the things that give people a sense of comfort start being taken away when a civil war will happen... If Biden or Trump loses some uproar will last for maybe a week or two, but then its back to netflix and evening yoga classes....

They can stage a civil war and use the media to paint the idea that all of america is up in arms, yet the reality is it will only be a small minority. All I ever see on television is covid and people on hazmat suits and people in respirators. If you bought into the media they would have you believe its ebola or the end of the world, yet none of that can be seen in reality atleast from where I am sitting. The media will dramatize everything as if there is a major shift about to occur and these riots represent the emotional state of all of America, yet it can only represent the outrage of a minority, because the majority will be too busy going about their life as usual and living a life of self indulgence and comfort.

To be fair, that started with Reagan.
Dude, nobody had cellphones until the mid- to late 90's. Reagan ended his term in 1988. How could he subsidize and distribute, via public assistance programs, technology that didn't exist? Not that he ever would, even if it did exist. I would hazard a guess and say Reagan was probably not okay with an excess of govt largesse in the federal welfare programs.

Violence After The Election Will Only Benefit The Powerful: Notes From The Edge Of The Narrative Matrix

Yep.
Nice find. Great to hear from anti-war activists like Johnstone.

MSM isn’t truthful. It isn’t even partisan. At least if it were partisan it would’ve spent the last four years attacking Trump for his warmongering and persecution of Assange, which would have been very politically damaging to him. It’s been lying by omission to Trump’s benefit, because it isn’t biased against Trump, it’s biased for the oligarchic empire.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Tells TV News Anchors Military Won’t Intervene in Election

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff held an off-the-record video meeting with TV anchors from CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News in which he asserted that the U.S. military will not intervene in the aftermath of the presidential election.

According to Axios, “The nation’s top military official set up Saturday’s highly unusual call to make clear that the military’s role is apolitical.”

Mark Milley also sought to “dispel any notion of a role for the military in adjudicating a disputed election or making any decision around removing a president from the White House.”

ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, CBS’s Norah O’Donnell, NBC’s Lester Holt, CNN’s Jim Sciutto and Fox’s Martha MacCallum were all participants in the call.

The meeting followed Joe Biden’s recent remark to the Daily Show’s Trevor Noah that he was “absolutely convinced” the military would “escort [Trump] from the White House in a dispatch” if he refused to leave office.

As we highlighted earlier, National Guard troops are already in place in several U.S. cities in preparation for any civil unrest, with polls showing 77% of Americans fearing violence to be likely.

The Biden campaign has already asserted that “under no scenario” will it allow Trump to claim victory tonight.

The former Vice President is also planning to address the nation and “assert control” as the president-elect if he is declared winner by news organizations, even if President Trump refuses to concede.
