I'm not a fan of this crony Capitalism we have going on but I sure as hell have studied history and know that communism has never worked thus far (I'm sure someone's going to come along and say that whatever countries have implemented communism in the past were not really communist). No one said that you don't have to earn money. In socialism usually, those who are cannot work due to disabilities are being taken care of. Also the automation of industries is forcing a lot of people to be out of work. A socialist country would take care of those by providing a way to not starve to death and have a roof over their head.

"Lazy ass"? Like I said, automation and industrialization has forced millions of people to be out of work. This is a direct result of capitalism because corporations are replacing workers with machines. It's the nation's responsability to handle this by taking socialist measures, otherwise people would starve due to lack of work.

But not all jobs are being replaced my machines. They should be able to find a job (I know thats not easy). But to depend on the govt for that is just encouraging laziness.

Social programs are usually flexible for this. They could have some kind of income for a period of time, then being given training for a new job. But there will always be people who cannot work for some reason and a purely capitalist system would be responsible for those people's death because they would no longer fit in the system. Unless people are allowed to grow their own food and have a place to live in a land of their own, then they would be totally dependant on the capitalist system.

My neighorhood is out in the country. So we grow our own food.

It's expensive usually. Also those who can't work would not be able to afford it...and I won't go into those who try to be energy sufficient by using alternative energy sources such as solar power - they are usually jailed for that.
