Thus, those who make this argument would have Christ teach that He came not to destroy the law but to destroy the law. That doesn't make sense, does it?
That is not what Christ is teaching, the word fulfill means that it is COMPLETED, there is a significant difference between destroying and fulfilling something. Let us take a Prophecy for example, say this one:

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel
.

Jesus didnt come to destroy this Prophecy, as in get rid of it as tho it is of no use or value, instead He came and FULFILLED it. He completed everything necessary so that the Prophecy itself is no longer in effect going forward. Jesus was born of a Virgin and was called Immanuel, therefore that Prophecy is completed and no longer binding and necessary to be in effect moving forward from Christs Birth on...

That is the meaning of FULFILLING, vs the idea of destroying. If Jesus came to destroy the Prophecy then He would have stated it was pointless and has no need and get rid of it, which Jesus clearly tells the Pharisees some of their man made laws needed to be destroyed, because they interfered with the Law that they supposedly were keeping:

Mark 7:1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.
10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:
11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.
14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:
15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

So in these Scriptures we see that the Pharisees had a man made tradition that called for people to wash their hands before they eat, however the Disciples at that time didnt follow it and so the Pharisees tried to call Jesus out on that and how does Jesus respond? He brings up the fact that they have changed the Law of Moses that called for them to stone their disrespectful children and replaced it with their own Law that as long as the child gives a "gift to God" or pronounces something as being in service to God, then no longer would the child be penalized as the Law stated.

Here is a good overview of how the Pharisees used this and broke the Law:

Hence to say of anything, "It is Corban," was to say that it had a prior and more sacred destination. And when it was something that a parent might need, to say, "It is Corban," i.e. it is already appropriated to another purpose, was simply to refuse his request and to deny him assistance, and so to break one of the first of the Divine commandments. Thus the son, by crying "Corban" to his needy parents, shut their mouths, by opposing to them a scruple of conscience, and suggesting to them a superstitious fear. It was as much as to say, "That which you ask of me is a sacred thing which I have devoted to God. Beware, therefore, lest you, by asking this of me, commit sacrilege by converting it to your own uses." Thus the parents would be silenced and alarmed, choosing rather to perish of hunger than to rob God. To such extremities did these covetous scribes and Pharisees drive their victims, compelling a son to abstain from any kind offices for his father or his mother.
https://biblehub.com/commentaries/mark/7-11.htm

So Jesus shows them how they have usurped the actual Law and created their own Law while trying to accuse Him of not keeping the Law. Jesus clearly shows that the washing of hands was NOT part of the Law of Moses and then DESTROYS their false Law saying it is not what enters your mouth that defiles you its what comes out of your mouth.

IF Jesus would have stated their made up Law concerning "Corban" was correct and stated it overruled the Law of Moses at that time, THEN Jesus would have DESTROYED the Law. Jesus states that He fulfilled the Law and the Prophets, so is there anywhere we can point to and see clearly that because of His Life Death and Resurrection, something that was in the Law was changed and no longer in force going forward?

Is what I am saying concerning Fulfillment Biblical?

The Law of Moses states that THERE MUST BE SACRIFICE for Sin, I can quote dozens of Scriptures but one should suffice:

Lev 4:1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done, and shall do against any of them:
3 If the priest that is anointed do sin according to the sin of the people; then let him bring for his sin, which he hath sinned, a young bullock without blemish unto the Lord for a sin offering.
4 And he shall bring the bullock unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord; and shall lay his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill the bullock before the Lord.
5 And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation:

6 And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, before the vail of the sanctuary.

So if the idea presented by Phipps concerning Christ destroying vs fulfilling is correct, then this Law should still be in force, however Christ came and fulfilled this Law with His Death and Sacrifice on the Cross and therefore this Law was FULFILLED and is no longer in effect. Of course Phipps and other Sabbatarians would agree that the Law of Moses in this aspect was FULFILLED and no longer to be in force to us today.

So we can see that when it suites them to argue concerning this, they will indeed recognize that Jesus FULFILLED the Law of Moses and thus in FULFILLING it, it is no longer in force or effect to us today.

The next argument is usually to try and differentiate the 10 Commandments from all the rest of the Law of Moses, and of course they dont believe that the other 603 Laws are really in force to us today, because they were FULFILLED in Christ. So the real question comes down to a few things.

One, is the 10 Commandments part of the Old Covenant?

Another is, does Scripture state that the Law can or has been changed?

So are the 10 Commandments part of the Old Covenant or not?

Deut 4:13 And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

We can quote more, but it is readily apparent that the 10 Commandments ARE indeed part of the Old Covenant, and are NOT Separate from them. So too the second question, has or can the Law be changed?

Heb 7:12 For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

So we can establish clearly in Scripture that the 10 Commandments were part of the Old Covenant and we know that because of Christ there was "made of necessity a change also in the law." Therefore the idea that Christ couldnt or didnt or wouldnt come to change the Law is completely incorrect, the Scripture states that the 10 Commandments were apart of the Old Covenant.

With that said the next question is, what has become of the Old Covenant? Scripture tells us clearly what has happened to it:

Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

The Old Covenant was made Old, it was FULFILLED and according to Scripture it has VANISHED AWAY. Since we know that the Ten Commandments were apart of the Old Covenant, then we know that the LAWS of the Ten Commandments have also vanished and we are no longer bound by them, instead we are bound by the LAW of the New Covenant and what is that Law?

Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

1 John 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

This is the LAW of the New Covenant, this is the ONLY Law we have and are bound to, and it is above and beyond the entire Old Testament Laws, it surpasses them and all of the Old Testament Law is contained in it. So when it comes to the Sabbath or any other person who tries to put others back under the Old Covenant, the Scripture is clear we are no longer bound by ANY of it at all.

When it specifically comes to worship and days we ought to worship which is the same with food (another "Law" SDA and other Sabbatarians want others to keep), again Scripture is absolutely clear on it:

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ
.

There is no need to judge one another on what days we want to worship or what food we eat. If you want to worship on Saturday then by all means go for it, however the second you try and state EVERYONE needs to worship on Saturday you immediately go against clear Scripture and are in the wrong.

I believe it has already been mentioned but the entire idea of the Sabbath was REST from WORK, and as the Scripture in Colossians states all of these things were nothing but a SHADOW of what was to come in Christ. Christ Himself is the True Sabbath, He is our Rest, Rest from WORKING our way into Heaven, REST from Sacrificing and Legalism for Salvation or Justification before God. Israel (again a SHADOW) was the picture of REST from all the battles the Israelities went thru, just as Jesus is the REST from all the battles we endure in this life and will find that pasture of REST after Death.

The Old Covenant has passed away, Christ FULFILLED it, the 10 Commandments including the Sabbath Christ FULFILLED and all of them are just SHADOWS of what Christ would usher in, which is the New Covenant. We are no longer under the Old Covenant or its Laws and whoever tries to teach ANYTHING about going back under the Law is teaching Falsehoods. Paul went to great lengths to explain all of this and called out those who dare tried to get others to go back under the Law, because Christ has ushered in the New Covenant.

His Law is the only Law, His Covenant is the only Covenant, and His Rest is the only Rest that remains, Sabbatarianism is a False Doctrine, plain and simple...

Why do so many people worship on Sunday?

One of the czars of Russia, walking in his park one day, came upon a sentry standing before a patch of weeds. The czar asked him what he was doing there. The sentry did not know. All he could say was that he had been ordered to his post of duty by the captain of the guard. The czar then sent his aid to ask the captain of the guard. But the captain could only say that the regulations had called for a sentry at that particular spot. His curiosity had been aroused. The czar ordered an investigation. But no living man at the court could remember the time when there had not been a sentry at that post, and none could say why he was there, or what he was guarding.

Finally, the archives were opened and after a long search the mystery was solved. The records showed that Catherine the Great had once planted a rose bush in that plot of ground and a sentry had been put there to see that no one trampled upon it. The rose bush died, but no one thought to cancel the order, and so for many years the spot where the rose bush had once been was watched by men who did not know what they were watching. It became a tradition. They really did not know why they were there. They were just there.

Do you know that we have many religious teachers today standing guard over doctrines and practices, the origin of which they do not know, and they are certainly not rooted in the Scriptures. Simply a tradition. They think they are guarding some sacred plant of truth, when in reality they are standing guard over some weed of error.

This brings us to our first text today, found in Matthew the 15th chapter, verse 13: “Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.” That is to say, every religious doctrine and practice which is not rooted in the Holy Scriptures will in the end be destroyed. And if you want to stand among the victorious ones in the end of time then anchor your faith in the doctrines and practices that God Himself has planted.

How can we know truth? There is only one way, and that is to study carefully this book that God has given to us. When it comes to something so important to salvation certainly no Christian should depend upon the sayings of another man. He will not follow tradition but will search diligently what God has to say to him through the Bible.

Today we present the Bible text man has forgotten—the text God said to remember. In Exodus 20 we find the ten divine precepts of our Creator. These Ten Commandments govern man’s relationship to his God and to his fellow men. We seem to have little difficulty in interpreting the first commandment which says, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me;” or the second or the third that reminds us not to take the name of the Lord our God in vain; or the fifth that tells us to honor our father and mother; the sixth, that reminds us not to kill; the seventh, not to commit adultery; the eighth, not to steal; the ninth, not to bear false witness; or the tenth, not to covet. All Christians everywhere testify to the necessity of abiding by the principles of these divine commands of God. All are of equal importance. In James 2:10-12 we read: ‘’For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.’’

So all of these Ten Commandments are of equal importance. Let us be mindful that these Ten Commandments are unchangeable, unalterable. In Malachi 3:6 we are told: “For I am the Lord, I change not.” And in Psalms 89:34 we read: “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” Surely if the Lord Himself testifies that His law is unchangeable, that He Himself would not alter it, then we as mere men dare not tamper with this divine constitution of the government of God. In fact, the Lord commands us in Deuteronomy 4:2 “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you."

Among the Ten Commandments we find the forgotten Bible text, the very one God asked us to remember. Notice again, if you will, Exodus 20, read verses 8 through 11: “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.’’

Notice that this commandment is prefaced with the word “remember” "don’t forget this one." Could it be the Lord knew that of all His ten divine precepts this would be the one most forgotten by all? And so He said, “Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy.” Here the Lord makes crystal clear the day which He made holy as the Sabbath day. Notice verses 10 and 11 where He says: “But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God...rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.” And so as we remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy, we must remember also which day the Lord set apart as His holy day. That was the seventh day of the week, or Saturday, as we know it today.

Notice that this Sabbath commandment, along with the rest of the commandments was given through Moses in written form 2,000 years after creation. But the Sabbath itself goes back to creation itself. In Genesis 2:1-3 we read: ‘’Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.’’ There are some who think that the teaching of a seventh-day Sabbath is something new, but in actuality it is the oldest institution known to man, for it dates back to creation week itself, just as does the institution of marriage. It is interesting to note, too, that the seventh day Sabbath is not a Jewish day, for it was given 2,000 years before there was a Jew. Indeed, Jesus said in Mark 2:27, “the sabbath was made for man”—not for the Jew only, but for man.

Now, what was the purpose of the Sabbath? Why was it given in the very beginning of time? “It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.” Exodus 31:17. Here we recognize that the Sabbath, if kept by Christians, is a sign that they believe it was God who created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. In Exodus 20:11 the same reason for the Sabbath was given—”in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”

The Sabbath, then, becomes a memorial of creation, a sign or a symbol of the great creative power of God. The Stars and Stripes, the red, white and blue flag, stands today as a symbol of the great nation of America. It is indeed a privilege for every red-blooded American to salute and pledge allegiance to the flag. None of us would stand by idly and see the Stars and Stripes dragged in the mud. Dare we, then, fellow Christians, see the symbol of God’s eternal government torn away from its moorings and dragged in the mud of tradition?

Jesus is surely our example in all things. We will follow Him then in this matter of Sabbath observance, for Jesus was a Sabbathkeeper. “And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.” Luke 4:16. Yes, it was the custom, the practice, of Jesus to observe the sacred, holy Sabbath day. In John 15:10 Jesus testified: ‘’I have kept my Father’s commandments.” In Matthew 15:9 He says: “In vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” The seventh day Sabbath stands today as a commandment of God. The first day of the week, or Sunday-keeping, stands today only upon the traditions of men.

Multitudes of Christians today believe that there must be some good reason why Sunday-keeping has replaced Sabbathkeeping; some reason why the first day of the week is kept today instead of the Old Testament Sabbath. But the Bible is silent upon such a change.

Did the apostles keep the Sabbath? The followers of Jesus, after beholding the body of Christ in the sepulcher, “returned and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment.” Luke 23:56. There is no record anywhere in the New Testament indicating that the disciples or followers of Jesus honored any other day as the sacred Sabbath of the Lord.

In the book of Acts we find repeated references to the Sabbath long after the resurrection of Jesus. In Acts 13:14 we read: “But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.” In verse 42: “And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath.” And in verse 44: “And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.’’ As Paul continued his missionary journeys, he continued to honor the seventh day Sabbath. In Acts 16:13 we read: “And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.” Also in Acts 17:2: “And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures.”

Yes, it was the custom of Paul, as it was of Christ, to observe the Sabbath commandment. “And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks” (in the city of Corinth, Greece), Acts 18:4. He continued there for a year and six months (verse 11). and every Sabbath he was found in the church with the people.

The Apostle Paul, as he himself testified in Acts 24:14, that he, “believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets” kept this commandment. It was he who taught that the keeping of the law which was holy, just and good was not a means of salvation, but a result of salvation, an evidence that the love of Christ had entered one’s heart. As one who loved His Lord, Paul, like all the apostles, continued to follow in the footsteps of Jesus in obedience to the commandments of God. There is absolutely no text in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation indicating that a new Sabbath should be substituted for the old. In fact, there are only eight texts in the New Testament which mention the first day of the week. Surely if there was to be a change from the seventh to the first day, it would have to be mentioned in one of these eight verses.

Why, then, do many keep Sunday, you ask? Well, because they were taught to; because their mothers and fathers did, and their grandfathers, perhaps, before them; because they had thought it must be in the Bible; because you thought there must be some good reason for it. But as we put the first day, Sunday, to the test of Bible truth, we find it must fall, with all the other traditional teachings of mankind which came into the church during the Dark Ages. But in these last days, in fulfillment of Bible prophecy, the true Sabbath is again to be revealed as part of the great reformatory movement to take place before Jesus returns.

In Isaiah 58:12, 13 we are told of the great reformation which specifies the revival of the true Sabbath. ‘’And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words.’’ To those who accept this last-day revival of the true Sabbath, the promise is given in verse 14: “Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord.” What a day of delight it becomes when the true Sabbath, the seventh day of the week, is again accepted and honored as the Holy of the Lord.

The Bible also teaches that the Sabbath will be kept in heaven. “For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.’’ Isaiah 66:22, 23. What a privilege it will be to gather around the great white throne in the kingdom of glory each seventh-day Sabbath to worship our Maker and our Saviour!

It's comical to read about the religious Jews lying in wait to see if Jesus would heal someone on the sabbath and so in their minds break a Commandment.

What a bunch of small minded crooks !

You do well in loving your neighbour as yourselves... and that means at a bare minimum no killing stealing false witnessing or cheating your neighbour.

Closed Minds and Majority Rule

God’s Word has a lot to say to those who are willing to be corrected. The people to be the most pitied are those who have closed minds. They will resist any information that varies from their personal views. Their minds are made up, and they don’t want to be bothered by the facts. This is especially true concerning the subject of the Sabbath.

Multitudes have inherited opinions about the day to be observed weekly, and they find it very difficult to look objectively at any other viewpoint. Many of them know that one of the Ten Commandments requires the keeping of the seventh day of the week. They also know that the seventh day is Saturday. Yet they tenaciously follow the tradition of observing a different day from the one God commanded. They worship on Sunday, the first day of the week, for which there is no biblical command.

Why do they do it? Most Sunday keepers have simply accepted the practice of the religious majority in the community where they were raised; assuming that it has to be right because so many are doing it. Is this a safe assumption? Has the majority usually been right in religious matters?

The Bible clearly answers these questions in the negative. Every available source of information reveals that in religious matters, at least, the majority has always been wrong. Jesus Himself said, “And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man” (Luke 17:26). Only eight people went into the ark to be saved from the flood. Christ taught that only a comparable few would be saved at the end of the world. Said He, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:13, 14).

It is very true that the great majority of Christians today, including many famous evangelists and theologians, are keeping Sunday instead of the seventh-day Sabbath. That fact alone should not over impress anyone. Taken by itself, in the light of Christ’s words, it should raise a flag of warning. Truth has never been popular with the masses. And those in the majority today, as in all past ages, are not really looking for truth as much as they are looking for a smooth, easy, comfortable religion that will allow them to live as they want to live.

What, then, should be the test of the Sabbath truth? Just one thing, and one thing only—the Word of God. Unfortunately, millions have never studied the Bible for themselves on this subject. I propose that we test the Sunday-keeping practice of this majority group and find out if it is correct. If it is biblical, then all of us should accept it and faithfully keep every Sunday. If the Scriptures do not support it, then we should diligently search the Word until we find the day that our Lord has endorsed for us to keep.

The most honest way I know to approach this subject is to take a look at absolutely everything that the Bible says about the first day of the week. There are only eight texts in the New Testament that refer to Sunday, and by carefully studying these verses we can be certain that all the evidence for consideration is before us. If there is any biblical authority for keeping the first day of the week, it will have to be found in one of these verses.

Are we willing to face the consequences of this kind of exhaustive study? Here is where our prejudice will be tested! Can we open our minds completely to whatever this objective search reveals? These are not trick questions. Personally, I do not care which day is found to be the Sabbath. If the Bible teaches it, I will gladly keep Monday, Thursday, Friday, or Sunday. Long ago, I decided to be a Christian and to follow the Word of God wherever it would lead, regardless of my feelings. It makes no difference to me which day I keep holy, as long as it is the one commanded in the Bible!

Seventh Day Adventists are under the delusion that Sunday worship is the mark of the Beast.

And so it is understandable that they want to keep the sabbath as the day of worship... but it's just a delusion as the mark of the Beast is not Sunday worship.

The mark of the Beast is something in/on the head or hand in order to continue buying and selling.

For some time now the world has used a chip for business transactions... and some are already walking around with an implanted chip in the head and/or the hand.

Everything and everyone will be connected to a world wide web of blockchain based internet controlled by AI.

And that's what you got to refuse.

Vaccines as well. Just say No !

You may get about one head shorter but who cares about that ?

It's better to enter eternity short and sweet than long and sour right ?

The Sabbath is a Royal Seal

Summary: The Sabbath Commandment does not include implicit reasoning behind why it should be followed. What it does contain is all the elements of a royal seal.

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God (Name). In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made (Title: Creator) the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them (Jurisdiction), and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it" (Exodus 20: 8-11).

The Sabbath commandment contains elements not contained in any of the other commandments. It states the name of the Lawgiver (LORD), His territory (heaven and Earth), and His title (Creator). These three components comprise what is known as a seal, and lend authority to the law. The Ten Commandments gain their validity only from the royal seal of the Creator God embodied in the Sabbath commandment.

In ancient times, kings were required to ratify decrees or commands with the royal seal (1 Kings 21:8). Without a royal seal, no law would be valid. Moreover, even with a royal seal, a law is only valid in the area of the king’s jurisdiction. For example, Canadian law is not applicable in Switzerland. So in a sense, it can be said that without a seal, no law would be valid anywhere. The law of the Ten Commandments is no different.

Acts 20 7 Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.

Revelation 1 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,

Ignatius of Antioch (c. 35 – c. 107) bishop of Antioch.

Let us therefore no longer keep the Sabbath after the Jewish manner, and rejoice in days of idleness, ... But let every one of you keep the Sabbath after a spiritual manner, rejoicing in meditation on the law, not in relaxation of the body ... and not eating things prepared the day before, nor using lukewarm drinks, and walking within a prescribed space ... And after the observance of the Sabbath, let every friend of Christ keep the Lord's day as a festival, the resurrection-day, the queen and chief of all the days [of the week]. Looking forward to this, the prophet declared, "To the end, for the eighth day," on which our life both sprang up again, and the victory over death was obtained in Christ

Why do so many people worship on Sunday?
Because people want to worship the Lord on the Day He defeated Death and Hell, maybe?

Oh yeah, also because a precedent was set by the Apostles and the Early Church to do so, like hundreds of years before the Catholic Church existed.

We know that Phipps, SDA and other Sabbatarians love to say that it was the Catholic Church that "changed the Sabbath Day" and while I agree that they made official doctrines claiming to do such a stupid thing, the precedent to for Christians to gather on Sundays to celebrate and worship God was happening long long before the RCC existed or made any edicts concerning such things. The Bible also speaks of CHRISTIANS gathering on Sunday, as opposed to Paul going to the Synagogues to preach Christ to the Lost Jews.

Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

This verse shows that the DISCIPLES and CHRISTIANS were gathering together on Sundays and Paul comes and preaches to them, the other verses that Phipps and the Sabbatarians use that speak of Paul going to the Synagogues to preach. I think this is a major difference that of course is over looked by SDA and Sabbatarians.

So we have Scripture that confirms that CHRISTIANS were gathering on Sundays together and were hearing preaching, like how we do today, that is showing the precedent. So do we have any other sources that show that the Early Church was gathering together on Sundays before the RCC existed?

If the SDA, Phipps and Sabbatarian position was accurate we ought to find many writings of those in the Early Church commanding and stating that we should or they did keep the Sabbath and that we also ought to, however what is it that we find in the Early Church is the exact opposite.

What the people and writers of the Early Church stated is that they were gathering on Sundays to celebrate and worship Christ because that is the day He resurrected. It was more important for them to celebrate Christs Resurrection than ordinances given to the Jews which as my previous post explains, were just Shadows of Christs coming.

Here are the Historical Proofs that show that the Early Church was gathering on Sunday hundreds of years before the RCC existed, therefore proving that the Sabbatarians ideology that the RCC "changed the Sabbath Day" is at its core false:

But every Lord’s day do ye gather yourselves together, and break bread, and give thanksgiving after having confessed your transgressions, that your sacrifice may be pure.
(Didache Chapter XIV.11 —Christian Assembly on the Lord’s Day. 14 [A.D. 70]).

This is from the oldest extra biblical writing of Christians, dated around 70 AD just 40 years after Christ which in ancient times was basically the next day. They are speaking of the Lords Day the same day John ends up referencing in Revelation which of course is historically known as Sunday. So therefore we have a very clear picture of the Early Churches decree that they gather on Sunday, and absolutely no where in this document is Saturday or the Sabbath mentioned as something we ought to be keeping. This was written about 255 years before the RCC existed...

Since, therefore, the days are evil, and Satan possesses the power of this world, we ought to give heed to ourselves, and diligently inquire into the ordinances of the Lord. Fear and patience, then, are helpers of our faith; and long-suffering and continence are things which fight on our side. While these remain pure in what respects the Lord, Wisdom, Understanding, Science, and Knowledge rejoice along with them. For He hath revealed to us by all the prophets that He needs neither sacrifices, nor burnt-offerings, nor oblations, saying thus, “What is the multitude of your sacrifices unto Me, saith the Lord? I am full of burnt-offerings, and desire not the fat of lambs, and the blood of bulls and goats, not when ye come to appear before Me: for who hath required these things at your hands? Tread no more My courts, not though ye bring with you fine flour. Incense is a vain abomination unto Me, and your new moons and sabbaths I cannot endure.” He has therefore abolished these things, that the new law of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is without the yoke of necessity, might have a human oblation(The Epistle of Barnabas 1 Chapter II.—The Jewish sacrifices are now abolished.)

Further, He says to them, “Your new moons and your Sabbath I cannot endure.” Ye perceive how He speaks: Your present Sabbaths are not acceptable to Me, but that is which I have made, [namely this,] when, giving rest to all things, I shall make a beginning of the eighth day, that is, a beginning of another world. Wherefore, also, we keep the eighth day with joyfulness, the day also on which Jesus rose again from the dead. And when He had manifested Himself, He ascended into the heavens.(The Epistle of Barnabas Chapter XV.—The false and the true Sabbath. ).

This is from the Epistle of Barnabas, a document written around 70-100 AD, about 225 before the RCC existed and as the quotes show, the Early Church were gathering on the 8th day aka Sunday to celebrate Christs Resurrection and made the case, just as Paul did over and over that the Sabbath and the Old Testament Covenant has been fulfilled and passed away and that Christ and His New Law has been established. THIS was the Doctrine of the people who knew Christ and knew those who knew Christ PERSONALLY.

If, therefore, those who were brought up in the ancient order of things have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but living in the observance of the Lord’s Day, on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death—whom some deny, by which mystery we have obtained faith, and therefore endure, that we may be found the disciples of Jesus Christ, our only Master(Letter to the Magnesians(shorter) Chapter IX]).

During the Sabbath He continued under the earth in the tomb in which Joseph of Arimathæa had laid Him. At the dawning of the Lord’s day He arose from the dead, according to what was spoken by Himself, “As Jonah was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, so shall the Son of man also be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” The day of the preparation, then, comprises the passion; the Sabbath embraces the burial; the Lord’s Day contains the resurrection(The Epistle of Ignatius to the Trallians Longer Versions. Chapter IX
)

This was written by Ignatius who lived until 107 AD, and was of great influence of the Early Church, who along with Polycarp are both considered Disciples of John the Apostle. Therefore we have writings of people who KNEW and LIVED and STUDIED with the Apostle John, that teach that they observed the Lords Day on Sunday, gathering together to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. In fact the Disciple of John teaches that the we no longer observe the Sabbath, because Christ was dead at that time, instead we celebrate His Resurrection on Sunday!

And we afterwards continually remind each other of these things. And the wealthy among us help the needy; and we always keep together; and for all things wherewith we are supplied, we bless the Maker of all through His Son Jesus Christ, and through the Holy Ghost. And on the day called Sunday,1 all who live in cities or in the country gather together to one place, and the memoirs of the apostles or the writings of the prophets are read, as long as time permits; then, when the reader has ceased, the president verbally instructs, and exhorts to the imitation of these good things. Then we all rise together and pray, and, as we before said, when our prayer is ended, bread and wine and water are brought, and the president in like manner offers prayers and thanksgivings, according to his ability, and the people assent, saying Amen; and there is a distribution to each, and a participation of that over which thanks have been given, and to those who are absent a portion is sent by the deacons. And they who are well to do, and willing, give what each thinks fit; and what is collected is deposited with the president, who succours the orphans and widows and those who, through sickness or any other cause, are in want, and those who are in bonds and the strangers sojourning among us, and in a word takes care of all who are in need. But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Saviour on the same day rose from the dead. For He was crucified on the day before that of Saturn (Saturday); and on the day after that of Saturn, which is the day of the Sun, having appeared to His apostles and disciples, He taught them these things, which we have submitted to you also for your consideration.(First Apology Chapter LXVII.—Weekly worship of the Christians. [A.D. 155])

This was written by Justin Martyr a man that was killed for his faith in Christ, who penned these words in 155 AD, about 175 years before the Catholic Church was created or existed and in it he describes exactly how CHRISTIANS were celebrating Christ and Worshiping God. I didnt quote them all but he speaks in detail to a Jew about why Christians dont celebrate the Sabbath or follow any rest of the Law, its because we know to whom that was written to and for and we know that Christ fulfilled it and therefore it has passed away..

I can literally go on and on quoting dozens of writings from those in the Early Church dozen to hundreds of years before the Catholic Church existed, and all of them say Christians were celebrating Christ on Sunday because that is the day He Resurrected and then basically all of them follow the reasoning as laid out by Paul, that we dont need to follow ANYTHING in the Old Covenant because it was all a Shadow of Christ and He has come and fulfilled it all and instituted His Law and we should now worship on the day that celebrates His Resurrection. The make the distinction between the Sabbath and the Day of the Lord and give reasons, BIBLICAL reasons why they began to gather and worship on Sunday.

What is missing from History is the dozens and dozens of writings from the Early Church that say they were actually gathering and celebrating the Sabbath just as the Jews had done, why is that not found in History? Because NO ONE in the Early Church, including Paul and the Apostles were ever celebrating the Sabbath as the Jews had done. The only evidence that Phipps, SDA or Sabbatarians can produce to try and uphold this ideology are the verses about Paul going to the Synagogue to PREACH THE GOSPEL. None of those Scriptures pertain to him or anyone else actually observing the Sabbath, all of them explicitly state he was PREACHING THE GOSPEL to them. He was literally trying to convert them AWAY from Judaism to Christianity.

Acts 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
15 And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.
16 Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.

23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.

30 But God raised him from the dead:

31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.

42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.

Acts 15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.
21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
22 Then pleased it the apostles and elders with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas and Silas, chief men among the brethren:
23 And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia.

24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:

Acts 16:13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

Acts 17:1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:
2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
3 Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

Acts 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

That is everytime that is mentioned in Scriptures of the Sabbath after the Gospels save 1 (Col 2:16) and in each but one of them we see Paul is PREACHING THE GOSPEL to the Lost. Never once is there a mention of Paul going to celebrate the Sabbath or observe it as the Jews did, instead each instance is him preaching and telling the Jews that Jesus is Christ.

The only one that mentions the Sabbath that isnt Paul preaching the Gospel is Acts 15:19-24 of which that was concerning the False Christians who were SUBVERTING others Souls by telling them they needed to KEEP THE LAW, which of course included the SABBATH. What did the Council at Jerusalem conclude? Was it keep the Sabbath? Nope it was literally DO NOT FOLLOW THE LAW OF MOSES, the ONLY things they end up saying concerning the LAW OF MOSES was that Christians should not fornicate, abstain from idols and blood, THAT IS IT.

If Phipps, SDA or Sabbatarians had a case then clearly when the Apostles and entire Early Church gathered to decided what if any part of the Law of Moses was to be kept, then SURELY we would have seen them make mention of the Sabbath here! They indeed would have stated, KEEP THE SABBATH, however they didnt, they said people who try and do that are SUBVERTING SOULS, but for whatever reason the Sabbatarians refuse to abide by the determination of the Council at Jerusalem. As tho they know better than the actual Apostles themselves.

No where are we as Christians commanded to keep the Sabbath, and History proves that Christians have been gathering since the inception of the Church on Sunday to celebrate and worship Christ, if anything it would be the Sabbatarians that are going directly against the Word of God and the Council at Jerusalem concerning the Sabbath and ANYTHING ELSE to do with the Law of Moses. However we ought to follow Paul who teaches us not to judge others on the days they want to celebrate the Lord and I dont, as long as you dont try and teach False Doctrines declaring that others MUST follow the Sabbath and such, because that is a lie period...

Bible questions answered about the importance of sound doctrine

Does it matter what one believes so long as they are sincere?
"But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth." 2 Thessalonians 2:13.

What advice was given to Timothy while preparing for the gospel ministry?
"Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you." 1 Timothy 4:13-16.

What similar instruction was given to Titus?
"But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility." Titus 2:1, 7.

Warning against false doctrines.

Of what kind of doctrines should we be aware?
"That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting." Ephesians 4:14.

"Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them." Hebrews 13:9.

What is a "wind of doctrine"?
"And the prophets become wind, For the word is not in them. Thus shall it be done to them.”" Jeremiah 5:13.

What danger attends the teaching of false doctrine?
"And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ” Matthew 15:9.

By what doctrines are some to be misled in the last days?
"Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons." 1 Timothy 4:1.

"But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction." 2 Peter2:1.

To what would men turn their ears?
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." 2 Timothy 4:3-4.

The test of true and false.

How may we determine the truthfulness of any doctrine?
"Test all things; hold fast what is good." 1 Thessalonians 5:21.

By what should we test and prove all doctrine?
"To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20.

Note:- The Bible is the test of all doctrine. Whatever does not harmonise and square with this, is not to be received.

For what is all scripture profitable?
"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16.

What will sound doctrine enable the faithful teacher to do?
"Holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict." Titus 1:9.

I agree and take this opportunity to drive home an extremely important point.

Christians ought to follow Jesus Christ.

Everything everyone else said must be discarded if it contradicts what the Saviour said.

Read the red letter words... for the Word of God is speaking.

Hear Him and comply.

All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭
And
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.
‭‭John 1:1-2‬ ‭

All of God’s word is good! :)

When christians form doctrines that contradict what Jesus Christ said it is because they lack reverence for the red letter words spoken by the Word of God himself.

At the end of the day it is what the Saviour said that counts.

Yes the Word is Jesus, the Bible, ALL the Bible is God’s word. It is wrong to just stop at the red letters, you have an incomplete knowledge.

Abusing the Bible to form contradicting doctrines from the red letter words is a waste of time energy and soul.

And if one doesn't understand that what the Saviour said is the single most important thing... one may as well be still.

I think its wrong to think that only the red letters matte because 2 Timothy 3:16 says otherwise. Then you’re like a person with only half the answers to the questions, never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. The whole Bible was inspired by God, not just the red letters.

I'm just saying that every doctrine contradicting what the Saviour said must be discarded asap. Nothing wrong in reading the whole Bible but if christians end up forming doctrines that contradict what Jesus Christ said it is one huge waste of time energy and perhaps the soul itself.

+1 for previous fast from the world

I was reading your links on the Babylonian sabattu, that occurred every month, I believe. I can see the similarities, in principle. I'm curious, though-- are you tying it to the Torah or the Babylonian talmud, when you say it was dedicated to the same deity ?
Is there a difference between the Shabbat deities in the Talmud and the Torah?

@Artful Revealer

I'm a fundamentalist for believing in only God and His Word and not Babylonian hocus pocus nonsense you've posted here? Then let me be a fundamentalist. Babylonian paganism is complete and utter nonsense and they can't save anyone! Its Satan trying to take worship away from God. He's been doing it for millennia but he will be destroyed in the end. He has lost the battle already. All that is waiting for him is hell and he will never exist again after that.
You're a fundamentalist because you're a slave to the written word.

I do not listen to anything that goes against the Bible. Not any written word, the Word of God. So if that makes me a fundamentalist I'm glad to be one. I'm in good company too. When Jesus was tempted by Satan He replied with, "it is written". In the end He was crucified because He offended Jewish religious leaders. The apostles were persecuted and most of them killed for preaching the Word of God that many found offensive. When the protestants during the dark ages and renaissance chose to obey the Word of God instead Roman Catholicism's orders they were called fundamentalists and many were killed. The truth is never popular and the Bible tells us at the end of the world many Christians will be killed for their beliefs. The sad part is that many Christians will persecute fellow Christians because even within Christendom the truth is not accepted. The truth of the Bible is always with the minority.

This is something I posted above about in the "Closed minds and majority rules" article.

"The Bible clearly answers these questions in the negative. Said He, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:13, 14)."

Goodbye.
