His name is all together YAHWEH and not separated like that. The Tetragrammaton is not broken up.
YHWH means he causes to become, not he causes to not become.
He created all things, so how would he be a destroyer?

Be careful where you get your information as it sounds satanic. Satan is the destroyer of everything, the earth, the humanity, the Faith in God. He's the one that brought about the defiance and rebellion. He's the creator of mischief and badness.
Moses: What’s your name?
Creator: I Am that I Am. Tell the Israelites I Am sent you.

Moses asked God what His Name was and was given an answer. I don’t think I have to go much further than that unless I’m taking the extra step of translating it to Hebrew. Also:

Isaiah 45:7
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

The Creator is in control of both good AND evil. He brings to life and He takes. There isn’t a competition between God and Satan

Do you already know that the 4 Hebrew letters YHWH are in the Masoreric text over 6,000 times? Surely you are already aware of this.

We see Lord and God in English bibles where the Hebrew text says the letters of YHWH. Most translations even say this in the front.

Do you have any kind of reference to a Hebrew word “yah” meaning act of defiance? What about words like HalleluYAH? Does that mean praise act of defiance, Or does it mean praise YAH? Who is YAH in Psalm 68:4? Was David wrong?

Joel didn’t say “whoever calls on the name of EHYEH ASHER EYHEH shall be saved”. He said “whoever calls on the name of YHWH”. Was he wrong?

What does Exodus 34:14 mean? Is God’s name actually “Jealous”?
Moses asked Gods name and was given a response. I believe the response. I don’t believe He gave a response that wasn’t the answer to the question He was asked. And for me, it’s that simple.

It sounds like he is slyly pushing Freemason doctrine. They think “YHWH” in the Tanach was Ha’Satan, and not God.
Umm no let’s keep this civil or we can really get into who believes in Freemason doctrine and who doesn’t. God was asked what His Name was and was given an answer. I believe that answer to be His Name. You haven’t really given an answer as to why that response He gave isnt His Name

Exodus 3 14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ” 15 Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘YHWH elohim of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’

Me: what’s your name?
You: Tokiel
Me: Nah it’s something slse

That’s essentially what’s going on in this thread. Even though God answered Moses, you say it’s something else...

So either YHWH = I Am/I will be or you’re picking one Name given over the other. Which one can I put you down for?

God initially told Moses a little about Himself... that He is an eternal Being... the I Am.

And secondly God told him His eternal name YHWH.

This is probably above your pay grade to understand.L0L

I dont believe in your private interpretations. Either God gave 2 names or they were both the same. Which one are you going with?

I mean if you dont want to have a straightforward convo then we can trade barbs back and forth. Knowing what you believe, thats not something you would win at, but hey its your call...

It is His name, in the first person. This is where grammar comes into play. YHWH is 3rd person, maybe meaning He Will Be, He Causes To Be, or something like that.

I was saying that about freemasonry because that viewpoint is out there, and trying to discount YHWH as God’s name is a red flag(because of the Freemason doctrine that the Tetragrammaton is actually Ha’Satan).

God told Abraham, Isaac & Jacob His name was YHWH, and also referred to Himself as El Shaddai, and even told Moses that His name is jealous.

The way “name” and grammar work in Hebrew, God can say His name is I AM, Yahweh & Jealous, and all 3 be his name.

When you looked it up, what did you find?
I found a bunch of stuff saying how YAH is part of God’s name, which is why I’m asking for some sort of reference that “yah” means act of defiance. I’m not the type of person that requires encyclopedias and stuff, but it would help your claim if you could provide some sort of reasonably scholarly article or something to substantiate it.

“I Am” in the 3rd person still doesnt come to Yahweh, Jehovah/Yehovah.

The way “name” and grammar work in Hebrew, God can say His name is I AM, Yahweh & Jealous, and all 3 be his name.
Only in ONE place in the whole Bible is God directly asked His Name and He replies with “I Am”. This Name has to be over all other names you say He gave since it was in direct response to being asked what His Name was and who should Moses say sent for them.

I think you’re missing the point that YHWH means something.Yahweh doesn’t mean I am in 3rd person and the “hovah” in jehovah/yehovah means mischief... Its also a weak argument to say that someone stressing the importance of Gods Name (and using scripture to do so) is a Freemason..

Saw it in Webster’s dictionary:

Used to express disgust, contempt, defiance, or derision

So combined with the fact that His Name is expressly given in Exodus 3 as “I Am” and the Egyptians having a moon god named yah I don’t personally agree with that being His Name. To each their own of course..

As a commentator highlights under this video:
"In this scene he says Ilahi not Eli
Arabic and aramaic =Similarities
In arabic=Ilahi lima tarakhtani
Aramaic=Ilahi lama sabahtani"
If you listen carefully Prophet Jesus peace be upon him is begging the Creator Elahi or ILahi.
"Why have you forsaken me or why have you left me?"
That's really interesting.

If YHWH isn’t 3rd person if I AM, what is?

I AM was not the only thing God said in response to what His name was, and what to tell the Israelites:

Exodus 3:14-15
And Elohim said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

And Elohim said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, YHWH-Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and the Elohim of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
Moses and the Prophets do not agree with you at all on this. They clearly understood to refer to God as YHWH, and not I AM. Nobody ever calls God “I AM” anywhere in the Tanach, before or after, nor does God ever use that phrase before or after he responds to Moses. Nobody ever named their children based on I AM, their names were based on YHWH, for example:

Genesis 29:35
And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise YHWH: therefore she called his name Yahudah; and left bearing.
Can you show where anybody ever refers to God as “I AM”, or gives their children names based on “I AM”? An example before or after God telling Moses “I AM” would be sufficient.

The suspicion of you pushing Freemason doctrine is based on you denying the name of YHWH, not on you “stressing the use of God’s name”.

Webster’s? Using English definitions to English words to define words in an earlier and different language is foolish.

God says all throughout the Tanach that His name is YHWH, and everybody in the Tanach knew that was His name, hence the phrase “HalleluYAH”, and the men and woman naming their children after the name of “YHWH”, and not I AM.

Moses and the Prophets and the Israelites all understood this. It’s you that doesn’t understand it.
