"An American airstrike in March killed more than 100 Iraqi civilians by inadvertently setting off a large amount of explosives that Islamic State fighters had placed in a building in Mosul, according to a long-awaited military investigation made public on Thursday.

Critics have said the March 17 airstrike demonstrated that the United States has been too quick to use air power in a congested city filled with hundreds of thousands of civilians."

"A US-led air raid in March against a building in the Iraqi city of Mosul killed at least 105 civilians, the Pentagon admitted on Thursday after concluding an investigation into the attack.

According to the Pentagon's summary of the investigation, the March 17 strike on Mosul's al-Jadidah district targeted two snipers of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) group in the building who had engaged with Iraqi counterterrorism forces. "

I'm pretty sure he's killed more civilians since taking office then for years preceding him. Could be wrong. Either way his foreign policy seems horrific.
He escalated everywhere the US is involved, immediately. Funny to think that not to long ago people were hailing him as a non-interventionist, or at least less of a hawk than Clinton. Instead we handed the entire government over to arms dealers.

How many civilians has Daesh killed in Iraq? In Syria? In Libya, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Pakistan? How many Sudanese, Somalis, Kenyans, Eritreans, Kurds and Coptic Egyptians do we let militant Muslims slaughter before we decide it's okay to start bombing the sh** out of them?

A million? We passed that in the 1920's, in Armenia alone. 2 million? Al-Qaeda and its affiliates killed that many in Sudan in the 80's/90's, in and around Darfur, with twice as many turned into "displaced" refugees.

Let's not forget those lovely gentlemen in Nigeria who kidnapped, raped and tortured little girls for months and years. Do you think that is an isolated incident? No, it is a way of life for them. They are animals. From Ankara to Khartoum to Peshawar, you can find thousands upon thousands of women they have victimized.

My husband just had a conversation yesterday with a female soldier who, having serving out her deployment, goes back to Afghanistan to visit her friends there. You know what she said? The Afghanis are happy that the US is finally being more aggressive against the extremists and militias.

Since Trump took office in January, hundreds of schools have opened for girls, and there are 300+ women newly elected to seats in the government! Know why? Because all those Taliban/Al Qaeda/Daesh fkrs are running scared, going back to their mountain hideouts and letting the people take back their villages, towns and cities. Now they know that hiding behind civilians is no longer an effective strategy. They are starting to fear our military again, and that is a GOOD thing, not just for us, but for our allies, and those depending on us to ensure their freedom, such as Afghanistan and Iraq.

Your temporary and fashionable concern for "civilians" in the areas of our bomb strikes, as an indictment against the new administration is, if anything, misguided. The civilians in those areas have been suffering under the rule of militant Muslim groups for years, decades even. They know the stakes: either they continue to live in fear, poverty and oppression, or they risk a few thousand lives for a better future. They're dying anyway, so we might as well live up to our part of the bargain and get those medieval cretins out of power for once and for all, and help them take their country back. They have been waiting (and dying) for 8 years while obama pussy-footed around, denied there was a problem, and did everything he could to stymy our military's efforts to win. Thank God it's over.

So since these people are being tortured by the isis, better kill them along with ISIS? I don't know what kind of sunshine and rainbows la la land you live in but nobody and especially not Afghanistan or Iraq wants the US in their country when US is the one who ruined them. US made the taliban. They aren't running scared when the so called fighters against terrorism can be called their allies. All US has done in recent years is kill innocent people in the name of fighting terrorism.

The fact that you think its justified is what makes this scenerio even more pathetic. This is me saying as a person who LIVED near where Osama bin chillin supposedly lived. We almost lost our lives when US allegedly captured the man (which most believe to be a lie). The fear my mother felt when holding me tight. when everyone thought we are going to die, the scream and horror. Let me tell i surely DID NOT wanted to die because of few terrorists. First think what you are talking about. Your army is the cancer of the planet. Wake up.

This won't be the most popular of entries but, in war, this is considered collateral damage. If the enemy places munitions in public places or even brings the public population into their known bases to stop bombing or attacks, then the U.S. can only act upon the latest intel when they try to defeat the enemy whose dug in. War is cruel and the munitions were not supposed to be in the building they were in. That was a decision by an army who doesn't care about human life. The Geneva Convention attempted to set down rules for something as insane as war but if your enemy doesn't abide by sane or humane rules, you have to accept that innocents will die. Terrorists don't care about the innocent lives of those around the world they attack with bombs and trucks. If the U.S. doesn't intentionally try to kill innocents, they should not be held responsible when accidents happen.
