At about 10 years old I realized that people had different ideas of what is 'mild.'
I went for lunch to my friend from Bangladesh's house and though the curry was super tasty it had me tearing up in no time!
Whereupon, I asked for water and to my utter surprise I was given warm water!
*The key to eating hot curries is to ask for raita, or yogurt or even buttermilk.;):)
As with all things moderation is the key to health and happiness.:p

p.s Turmeric is also good for the skin:

Edit: @bible_student turmeric tea is having me gagging just thinking about it.....:)
I have drank tumeric tea (with black pepper, as @polymoog suggested) in the past and it really helped when I wasn't feeling well.

Then, last week I got a horrible burn from cooking. I had not seen this thread until now, but couldn't afford to go to docs so I asked my friends in my interfaith group who were not in Western countries what they use for bad burns, and 90 percent if them said tumeric. Well, wouldn't you know. I tried it and not only did it keep it dry and uninfected, it is healing very nicely now. :)
