Trudeau’s arrogance fuels ‘Trumpism’ in Canada
torontosun.com/2017/03/15/trudeaus-arrogance-fuels-trumpism-in-canada

What does it say about the government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau when it repeatedly suggests the vast majority of Canadians are Islamophobic, bigoted and racist?

Time and again, Trudeau and the Liberals try to come up with divisive wedge issues for the Conservatives to slip on -- which is politicking, not governing -- and time and again it blows up in their faces.

The latest is the Liberals’ so-called “anti-Islamophobia” motion proposed by MP Iqra Khalid but, more importantly, backed by Trudeau and the PMO, the wording of which a recent Forum Research poll found 71% of Canadians surveyed oppose, with only 14% in support.

Forty per cent said the motion should not single out one religion, while 31% believed it should reference all religions.

Even 71% of Liberal voters oppose the current wording of the Liberal motion, compared to only 16% in favour.

Same goes for Trudeau/Liberal denunciations of Conservative leadership candidate Kellie Leitch’s proposal to screen would-be immigrants, refugees and visitors for anti-Canadian values.

A recent CROP poll conducted for Radio-Canada, the French-language service of the CBC, found 74% of Canadians surveyed agree with this idea. A Forum poll last year showed two-thirds of Canadians surveyed agreed with it.

Leading up to and during the 2015 federal election, polls showed Canadians favoured the Harper government’s now-defunct policy requiring people to reveal their faces while taking the oath of citizenship (the so-called “niqab ban”) by margins of 61%, (Mainstreet Research), 72% (CBC-Vote Compass) and 82% (government-commissioned poll by Leger Marketing).

The issue is not that the government should govern by polls.

Edmund Burke, the founder of modern conservatism, was correct when he told the electors of Bristol in 1774: “Your representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment; and he betrays, instead of serving you, if he sacrifices it to your opinion.”

But what the Trudeau Liberals do, by contrast, is to argue repeatedly there is only one “correct” opinion on these issues -- their opinion -- and that all other opinions are Islamophobic, bigoted, racist, ignorant and on and on ad nauseam.

That’s light years away from what Burke was advocating, who in the same speech said the opinions of electors should be treated with the highest respect by parliamentarians, who must then apply their “mature judgment” to them.

That’s not what Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale did when he sarcastically accused Conservatives of wanting to turn “fire hoses” on migrants illegally pouring across our unmanned border with the U.S., in order to avoid addressing the legitimate issue of border security.

That’s because Trudeau and the Liberals only raise these issues in the first place to try and out Conservatives as bigots, not to have a genuine societal debate about them.

Liberal tactics today are similar to the “you’re with us or with the child pornographers” accusation they justifiably levelled at the previous Harper government when it mocked legitimate concerns about whether its proposed legislation to combat child porn violated online privacy rights.

While the Trudeau Liberals are ever on the alert for alleged examples of “Trumpism” taking root in Canada, the irony is they are fuelling it.

When people feel their legitimate, honestly held views are being ignored and mocked by political elites, they’re apt to throw an atomic bomb into the status quo just to shake things up.

Someone should remind Trudeau and the Liberals that’s how Trump got elected.

It will be a very interesting election coming up in a couple years.

It appears internationally people have finally got fed up with being told what to think by the "thought police".
First Brexit in UK, then near-defeat of Australian Liberal National Party Coalition last year*, then Trump. If Trudeau's not careful he might be next.

* Compulsory voting in Australia + opposition Labor Party being pro-gay, pro-minority groups

But it looks like Geert Wilder's party didn't win the Dutch over. He did win some more seats but that's about it.

It's really the same in every country. That being buy into the narrative or be called anything from a hater to a bigot. Common sense with concern to down the road issues is frowned upon as is rational thought. This is the globalist agenda which is designed to bring us to our knees. Once they've broken us down in an effort to gain our sole dependence from all who populate the earth, they rule and dictate all. They are moving us into a giant melting pot of confusion and then they'll offer a deceptive helping hand but only if you adhere to the agenda, Even if you do take what will seem like a helping hand, your humanity will have been stripped from you and you'll be their bot. They are counting on people to do and accept anything to survive. It will be the beast system.

I take a german class taught by a few german natives. They have expressed this same concern about the "trump-ification" of the world. Like a few other europeans I've talked to since 2016 right before trump was elected, they are very nervous to see that more and more governments are acting with brassness and aggression that they attribute to the US electing Trump as their "leader." But these German teachers, especially, and some Europeans as well link it back to the "good ole days" of Hitler and his dictatorship. Just found out the term "fake news" has a german equivalent that was used heavily during the Third Reich, so much so that older Germans that hear it now and immediately link it to Hitler. This was a term used just recently by neo-nazis in Chemnitz as the result of a demonstration.

I DO think the people disenfranchised by those who want to engage in PC, and nonassertive actions are using Trump as a reason to be more vocal, be more open with their dissent, and tell the perspective they feel has been suppressed by recent politics. Even if you diagree with what's being said, hearing a different side is a good thing.

However we all must be honest about whatever that other side it. Many of the people that hate PC and non-assertive/non-aggressive behavior hate it because they ARE abusers, haters, and just plan RUDE. Not everyone, obviously, but many. Trump is an excuse to beat up on their favorite minorities, shoot a few more of them, riot because they couldn't do it before, and argue vociferously about their pet political position. Who but God knows what Trump ACTUALLY thinks of this behavior, but the people doing this really could care less. They want to do DAMAGE, they will take every opportunity that presents itself, and blame it on whomever is most convenient.

Political Correctness is the result of people hating a GOD that can and should control their actions, but realizing that hating GOD eliminates the need to be kind to others and not kill each other (if you think you can get away with it). That's why it's screwed up.

What an insufferable boob this guy is. Can't wait until he's put out of power and we never hear from him in public again.

“The world is moving towards more diversity, not less diversity. It’s a form of entropy where people will come with different perspectives, the advancement of communication, raising standards of living around the world…[it] means that our communities, our boardrooms, are going to be more and more diverse,” Trudeau said at a forum in Canada’s capitol.

I think he meant entropy as to say that diversity makes people more unpredictable. But still, it makes no sense in that context. Entropy is a measurement. It can be good, bad, or neutral depending on the system.

Without entropy, the Sun would kill us. We are talking about epic heatwaves and droughts that never ended.

hold on. i can translate trudeauese:
"diverse" people will think diversely. white people, for example, can only think one way, so we need to limit their participation. merit based inclusion is far less important than fulfilling quotas on race, gender, and ethnicity.

Entropy is a measure of chaos in dynamic systems. So the more entropy, the more chaos there is.

It's never a good thing to have more of it. But for the elites, this chaos led by forced multiculturalism is exactly what they want so they can justify police state measures to deal with an increasingly more violent population.

Hmmmm... From the article it seems Trudeau is a childish character. Not serious deep, long-lasting useful policies, but kind of shortsighted tantrums....

BTW I hope you forgave me my Canadian teasing. Done in good humour. Love Canada. Hockey was my favourite sport #1 to play in school.
