Ahem...... so basically

going back to the TV and I Love Lucy I think there were people disturbed by it and worried about the TV zombifying people

what I want to know is how people can just sit and watch TV and it not bother them that they're watching content designed to program them.

But basically we can see that technology has been used in an Aldous Huxley way to make us like Brave New World (and 1984).

I think this has been the trend since TV. Therefore, the more technology we get, the more it will be used to submerge us into a state of immersion.

What I mean is, for example, virtual reality.

And you can see Idiocracy really happened. So.... as we get more and more technology, we will get more and more dumbed-down.

These trends are not static states but... well they are trends, they are advancing. Look at how dumber the hip-hop has gotten just from 2007 to now

2007 looks like a golden age compared to now and in 2007 I was looking at the 90's and early 2000's as like a golden age.

We will get dumber, more immersed and certainly more perverse I think when the sex robots become a thing (I'm not for them but I wouldn't put it past people) and become normalized.

The other thing is we will also be even more programmed than now. Whatever the future will be, I am expecting weirdness. Lots of weirdness (like the aforementioned sex robots, trans...speciesism or who knows what). Apparently we have to think weird thoughts to guess at where things are headed.

Anyways, where do you think the future is headed, where do you think the technology is headed?

What will things be like 10 years from now?

Of course it's not known for sure but- it's interesting to think about and there are people who have predicted where things were headed in the past..... I think we can se ewhere things are headed based on following the trends of the present.

Technology is a tool it can be used to make/do good things too.
I mean.... there is how it is used in theory... and maybe even to a certain extent...

I mean things like Wikipedia are cool. Vigilant Citizen is cool. And I'm sure there are people doing good things with the internet.

But I think it is a reality that it will also be used for Brave New World type purposes.

Technotyranny: The Iron Fisted Authoritarianism of the Surveillance State

"So consumed are we with availing ourselves of all the latest technologies that we have spared barely a thought for the ramifications of our heedless, headlong stumble towards a world in which our abject reliance on internet-connected gadgets and gizmos is grooming us for a future in which freedom is an illusion."...

"Essentially, Google—a neural network that approximates a global brain—is fusing with the human mind in a phenomenon that is called “singularity.” Google will know the answer to your question before you have asked it, said transhumanist scientist Ray Kurzweil. “It will have read every email you will ever have written, every document, every idle thought you’ve ever tapped into a search-engine box. It will know you better than your intimate partner does. Better, perhaps, than even yourself"....But here’s the catch: the NSA and all other government agencies will also know you better than yourself. As William Binney, one of the highest-level whistleblowers to ever emerge from the NSA said, “The ultimate goal of the NSA is total population control.”...

"This “connected” industry—estimated to add more than $14 trillion to the economy by 2020—is about to be the next big thing in terms of societal transformations, right up there with the Industrial Revolution, a watershed moment in technology and culture... Between driverless cars that completely lacking a steering wheel, accelerator, or brake pedal and smart pills embedded with computer chips, sensors, cameras and robots, we are poised to outpace the imaginations of science fiction writers such as Philip K. Dick and Isaac Asimov (By the way, there is no such thing as a driverless car. Someone or something will be driving, but it won’t be you.)"...

"In other words, the surveillance state that came into being with the 9/11 attacks is alive and well and kicking privacy to shreds in America. Having been persuaded to trade freedom for a phantom promise of security, Americans now find themselves imprisoned in a virtual cage of cameras, wiretaps, sensors and watchful government eyes."...

"We’re being surveilled right down to our genes, thanks to a potent combination of hardware, software and data collection that scans our biometrics—our faces, irises, voices, genetics, even our gait—runs them through computer programs that can break the data down into unique “identifiers,” and then offers them up to the government and its corporate allies for their respective uses."

"Ingestible or implantable chips are a good example of how unprepared we are, morally and otherwise, to navigate this uncharted terrain. Hailed as revolutionary for their ability to access, analyze and manipulate your body from the inside, these smart pills can remind you to take your medication, search for cancer, and even send an alert to your doctor warning of an impending heart attack.... Sure, the technology could save lives, but is that all we need to know? Have we done our due diligence in dealing with the ramifications of giving the government and its cronies access to such intrusive programs? For example, asks reporter Ariana Eunjung Cha, “How will patients be assured that the technology won’t be used to compel them to take medications they don’t really want to take? Could what started as a voluntary experiment be turned into a compulsory government identification program that could erode civil liberties?”...

"The NSA is merely one small part of a shadowy permanent government comprised of unelected bureaucrats who march in lockstep with profit-driven corporations that actually runs Washington, DC, and works to keep us under surveillance and, thus, under control. For example, Google openly works with the NSA, Amazon has built a massive $600 million intelligence database for CIA, and the telecommunications industry is making a fat profit by spying on us for the government"...

"Control is the key here... Total control over every aspect of our lives, right down to our inner thoughts, is the objective of any totalitarian regime."

Tech has become a way to keep track of everyone and take in data to understand them to control them. Some say it was planned to be that all along. Like the CIA or whoever had it in mind from the beginning. The Bible says the False Prophet will "Give life to the image of the Beast", which I am convinced is an Ai which will know if you are worshiping the Beast or not. In Babylon the harpists would play music and that was the signal to worship the idol of the Emporer who proclaimed himself deity. As far as perversion and TV shows, that is a whole article itself. I recommend you watch some Blackpilled videos on Youtube, and also A Call for an Uprising.

We have Facebook. It is both a tool for the controllers to monitor the population, and a tool for the population to expose the controllers' monitoring. Technology is neither good nor bad; it is neutral.

What matters in this reality is truth, so let's focus on using the technology to explore, experience and share truth.

I will actually agree with you to some extent here...

The rise of technology and people’s growing reliance on it in place of actual social interaction is problematic... and I don’t think it was an unintended consequence

My personal conspiracy theory (and it is probably pretty nutty, I admit), is that I think that technology is being used for a two part strategy:

1) It is a spying tool which allows them to track us and categorize us into non-threatening and threatening groups. Those who blindly follow (well a portion of them anyway -- there will be too many of them to let all of them survive) will be marked as the future slave race. Those who don't get marked for elimination.

2) It is designed to make us completely dependent upon technology for even our most basic needs and the younger generations will have no practical knowledge about home building, farming, or basic survival skills that aren't technology based. People don't retain knowledge anymore because they don't see a need to. They can always "google" it, you know. There will be some great world wide catastrophe -- I'm guessing it will be manufactured. It could be an asteroid strike. It could be WW3 (my personal guess). It could be a fake alien invasion. But, it will conveniently wipe out a large percentage of the population. Maybe even getting us down to that magical under 500 million number the Georgia guidestones talk about. Once civilization (and technology) is decimated, the elite will be the only ones who have access to the information needed to rebuild society. They have the seed bank. They'll have underground bunkers with technology that won't be wiped out. That will give them the upper hand and they can swoop in as the "saviors" of mankind. Anyone who doesn't go along with their conditions won't have access to what they need to survive.

I won't make it into the bunkers if that happens, but my advice to anyone who does make it into one of those is to make sure that none of the elites make it out of those bunkers alive. That is the only hope humanity will have if my conspiracy theory actually turns out to be true. The peons will have to band together and kill them all while they have the chance. No mercy or deal making for any of them because they can't be trusted. Otherwise, we will have a permanent slave class. I used to think they would probably replace us with robots, but the psychopaths enjoy inflicting pain too much. I guess they could program a robot to mimic a pain response -- but I don't think that would be satisfying enough for those sick Satanists. They need real humans to torture.

In abstract theory, the internet might be a tool that could be used for good or evil. In concrete reality, the internet is a cesspool of pornography, gambling, and other highly corrupting things. Aside from the aforementioned grave evils that dominate the internet, even websites that are less morally offensive are problematic in that many of us waste way too much time visiting them when we could be doing something more worthwhile.

It is no coincidence that the Apple logo is the forbidden fruit. Nor is it a coincidence that the first Apple computer sold for $666. That "www" in Hebrew translates as "666" is not something fortuitous either. If the devil has not been heavily involved in making the internet what it is, then what has he been up to?

We are all born with original sin and we are all inclined towards evil. It therefore behooves us to put restraints on ourselves. I lived without a "smartphone" for many years by deliberate choice and those were some of the best years of my life, in prayer, work, and study. If I ever have children I certainly won't be buying them smartphones or giving them laptops. They can use a desktop in a visible part of the home with restrictive filters limiting what kind of websites and search results they can view.

Very interesting and eerily credible

Unfortunately it is all a counterstrike..
Hip hop used to be artists expressing their views of whats going in their lives what we didn't hear about,
so tptb infiltrated it and changed it into a system to dumb down society and suit their needs.

(That's how they shut them up, take it into next level and eventually turn it into a whole system to control you, make you open to suggestions) Especially when an artist becomes like an idol worship to the fans and starts promoting way of life. (And get paid for it).

If someone creates a movement to wake people up and it will have a progress and mass positive effect,
eventually it will be infiltrated and countered...

Same with technology and everything... Anything...

It's like they say: Everything you say and do will be used against you..

I wish everybody would understand this.

I was driving with a friend the other day. We started talking about the recent boat attack/Iran story. I said I wondered if it was a false flag, Gulf of Tonkin, etc. and he told me to "be quiet, my car listens to what we say. You shouldn't say that." He's got a 2018 Ford Escape with voice-activated features. I told him to think about what he just said.... he's afraid of me expressing dissent in a private space because Big Brother's listening. He's okay with paying that price in exchange for the convenience and not at all creeped out by the idea of constantly being listened to/spied on even if you didn't do anything wrong.

I had to reread my OP because I had no idea what the OP was. Surprised to see this ancient thread being revived but pleasantly so. I appreciate the archaeology.

Just to pile on, what about people now voluntarily chipping themselves? That is a new level of crazy in my mind.

The NSA’s Hidden Spy Hubs in Eight U.S. Cities

...excerpts..... full article at link...

THE SECRETS ARE hidden behind fortified walls in cities across the United States, inside towering, windowless skyscrapers and fortress-like concrete structures that were built to withstand earthquakes and even nuclear attack. Thousands of people pass by the buildings each day and rarely give them a second glance, because their function is not publicly known. They are an integral part of one of the world’s largest telecommunications networks – and they are also linked to a controversial National Security Agency surveillance program.

Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. In each of these cities, The Intercept has identified an AT&T facility containing networking equipment that transports large quantities of internet traffic across the United States and the world. A body of evidence – including classified NSA documents, public records, and interviews with several former AT&T employees – indicates that the buildings are central to an NSA spying initiative that has for years monitored billions of emails, phone calls, and online chats passing across U.S. territory.

In 2003, the NSA launched new internet mass surveillance methods, which were pioneered under the FAIRVIEW program. The methods were used by the agency to collect – within a few months – some 400 billion records about people’s internet communications and activity, the New York Times previously reported. FAIRVIEW was also forwarding more than 1 million emails every day to a “keyword selection system” at the NSA’s Fort Meade

...it's quite lengthy.... I just sorta scanned thru it....
...but it has good photos of each building with a description of the function that each provides....

An RV exploded near an AT&T cellular switching services station in Nashville this morning. According to tweets mentioned in the article it caused a fail over to another emergency services network.

....likely somewhat related to my above from last nite.... AT&T lost a major pathway for a 'first responder' comms network with the Nashville explosion....
....no idea what this means.... but the implications seem dire, indeed...

A Massive Emergency Cellular Switch Exploded In Nashville, First Net Switch Taken Out, FBI Won’t Let Local PD Access The Infrastructure – No MSM Reports
1608999961096.png

...excerpts... all at link... could not c/p twitter screenshots.... cancelled twitter account in protest of censorship...

AT&T is deploying portable cell towers to Nashville to support law enforcement and improve wireless service. CNN’s parent company, WarnerMedia, is owned by AT&T.
An emergency responder cellular switch also exploded and shutdown the first net switch.
For all not familiar with FirstNet/ATT

The FirstNet mission is to deploy, operate, maintain, and improve the first high-speed, nationwide wireless broadband network for first responders, public safety, …
Many 1st responders have it.

******

Local patriots did post some interesting stuff and alleged that the target could have been the AT&T Nashville building, and why did someone target the building.

******

The feds wouldn’t even let local PD in and the infrastructure engineers to fix it according to this brave patriot:

Casino Gets Hacked Through Its Internet-Connected Fish Tank Thermometer
1609000200749.png

...excerpt... all at link....

We have another great example that showcases how one innocent looking insecure IoT device connected to your network can cause security nightmares.

Nicole Eagan, the CEO of cybersecurity company Darktrace, told attendees at an event in London on Thursday how cybercriminals hacked an unnamed casino through its Internet-connected thermometer in an aquarium in the lobby of the casino.

According to what Eagan claimed, the hackers exploited a vulnerability in the thermostat to get a foothold in the network. Once there, they managed to access the high-roller database of gamblers and "then pulled it back across the network, out the thermostat, and up to the cloud."
