I know VC did a very interesting analysis of the John Carpenter masterpiece movie They Live several years ago.
I saw more of just how important this movie is with showing us our current state, so took out my pile of notes and put out my analysis with focus on the sunglasses symbolism, the fight with Frank, and final ending of Rody Piper's death.
I did however miss out the reference in the underground speech scene that the year 2025 was for the end of the "task of securing the earth."

This is an interesting analysis, thanks for sharing. You're absolutely right that's spiritual warfare. While this is the Entertainment Section, I'll reference Ephesians 6:12 as it does put things into perspective for those who do adhere to it:

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
While you may have missed the underground speech regarding the year 2025, I'll add that in that year, or sometime shortly after, is supposed to be the arrival of the elite's Cosmic Christ, or the AntiChrist as I've mentioned a couple of years ago here.

To note, you mentioned Meg Foster's eyes being altered for the movie. Personally, I don't think they have been as they've always been that ice blue colour, notably when she played the original Christine Cagney in "Cagney and Lacey". I think I even read somewhere there were times that directors suggested that she wear contact lenses for some of her roles because they thought her eyes were a bit of a distraction. It could be the black eyeliner she's wearing in the movie that makes them look even more intense.

It's a movie.

People need to realize that creators of dystopian fiction aren't prophets or some sort of insider... They are just people that have a keen understanding of the world around them and can see the possibilities. It's not that hard for a director in 1988 to realize that the world is quickly becoming a place of blind consumerism and propaganda... Especially when other films, such a Rambo, went from critiques of war to pro-military propaganda and the Reagan administration's deregulation lead to media specifically designed to sell products to children, to get them addicted to buying cheap plastic shit early...

People often look too deep into stories and not enough into the real world that inspires it.

The cold hard facts still remain that the movie was highly entertaining 80's fun. It was so different from anything that had been out up until that point. It is also a fact that they let this movie run in the theaters for a week and that it went to cable (the way people watched TV then) in short order more or less bypassing those tacky video stores. And it was on those Saturday afternoons when this film was shown on TV that garnered it a quick cult following in that it was a good flick. Again, newer flicks did not make it to YTV as fast as this one did and the studio never marketed the film. So, if so many people were entertained by it, why did Hollywood push the film off a cliff? There was an orchestrated effort to keep the film from even being seen but it backfired over time.

The cabal pulled the film after it's second week at #1 cause they were afraid the sleeple/sheeple would wake. Too much truth in one movie.
Keith David (Frank) mentions what happened at 3:45.

I have heard that ^ @Frank Badfinger
Like in the scene in Fight Club where Tyler is operating the film at a movie theatre and he inserts a pornographic clip into a movie. But this is being done on a grander scale~ our eyes can process only so much visual information the rest is sublimated into our unconsciousness. Seriously your tv is the weapon of mass destruction! News channels keep peoples emotions in a heightened state of fear/panic which reverts ones brain to function on a primitive level. Perhaps I'm not explaining this as scientifically as others but what I am saying is that our minds are under a spell when we are watching that screen.
Oh, yeah Big time! They hijack our consciousness with their f*cked up version of the world via moving pictures, lull us to sleep/hypnosis and use us to create their reality.

Do you remember the drone scene ? I read somewhere that this was the first time viewers saw something like that. And today there are drones everywhere. Also RIP Roddy "Rowdy"Piper. Being a huge fan of wrestling, I always thought he was one of the good guys.
