Matthew 5:7 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
Matthew 5:33-36 New King James Version (NKJV)

Jesus Forbids Oaths
33 “Again you have heard that it was said to those of [a]old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’ 34 But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black.

I guess we have different purposes here. I'm here to actually discuss things- all your post did was take some scripture out of context for the aim of what? Scoring a "sick burn". You're smart enough to say something intelligent. I expect that kind of response from someone dumber than you. You don't have an excuse for such superficiality.

I thought we settled this issue a long time ago colgate. We are essentially saying the same thing (mostly) BTW I see tribalism as different from nationalism because nationalism as based on today's nation state formations is unnatural while tribal make up is natural.
Tribalism can not make haraam into halaal and the ummah is a nation based on belief btw. The good peaceful and cultural aspects of tribalism are acceptable but the bad aspects of hatred and oppressing others in its name are unlawful. For example, my tribe right or wrong.

49:13
O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

Knowing each other and accepting or even enjoying our differences does not require excessive love of one's tribe or hatred of others especially if it leads to transgressing the laws of Allah (swt) , however, defending your family and tribe from oppression is validat. That is my point.

"Whosoever fights under the banner of the blind, becoming angry for partisanship ('asabiyah i.e tribal-ship), calling towards it, or supporting it and then dies, he dies a death of (one in) the Days of Ignorance (Jahiliyah)." [ Sahih Muslim(6/21)]"

Differences in gender being male and female are natural but the satanic cabal is playing with the natural to make the unnatural. Being a woman or a man is not a whim.
Differences in tribe are natural but the satanic cabal played around with tribalism and made nationalism which is unnatural. The modern day nation has split people of the same tribe and has encased people of other tribes in fake borders. It is Important not to confuse tribalism which is natural with the construct nationalism. It is important not to support our tribes in wrong doing and evil actions.
N.B for those who are pondering what went down in New Zealand. Going to the tribal lands of the Maori as in New Zealand and being anti immigrant is delusion.
Love for one’s people is normal and healthy, if it leads to good deeds. But such love that comes at the expense of justice is no praiseworthy love at all.

Wathila ibn Al-Asqa’ reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, is it part of tribalism that a man loves his people?” The Prophet said:

لَا وَلَكِنْ مِنَ الْعَصَبِيَّةِ أَنْ يُعِينَ الرَّجُلُ قَوْمَهُ عَلَى الظُّلْمِ

No, rather it is tribalism that he supports his people in wrongdoing.

Love for one’s nation and country

is it allowed to love the own nation? I am a chechen and i love my nation, but also all muslims. I don’t mean nationalism or to sayying “my nation is better than yours”. I mean love, like a person loves his family.

Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Love for one’s nation and country is natural.[1] Consider the following hadith:

عن امرأة منهم يقال لها فسيلة، قالت: سمعت أبي يقول، سألت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فقلت: يا رسول الله أمن العصبية أن يحب الرجل قومه؟ قال: «لا، ولكن من العصبية أن يعين الرجل قومه على الظلم» (ابن ماجه، باب العصبية)

A woman named Fasilah narrates that she heard her father saying: I asked Nabi sallaAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, “O Rasullullah, is love for one’s nation considered chauvinism?” He sallaAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam replied, “No, chauvinism is partly to help one’s nation in perpetrating injustice” (Ibn Majah)

However, the important point is how and where to channel the love you have for your nation. True love for one’s nation demands that one wants the best for his nation. He cannot bear seeing his nation unsuccessful. The true success is the success of the hereafter. In Surah Yāsīn, Allah speaks of Habīb Najjār. When his nation denied the message of the Messengers, his love and concern for his nation made him restless. He was aware of the grave consequences of denying the message of Allah.

A man (Habib Najjar) from the far end of the city came running. He said, “O my nation! Follow the messengers! Accept the message of those who do not ask for any remuneration and they are guided.” (Yasin: 20-21)

We advise you to channel your love in the right avenue. Work towards bringing your nation/community towards those practices that will bring them goodness in the hereafter.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best

The verse means: say what you mean and mean what you say. Your entire post was riddled with sarcasm and derision, but I gave you the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was satire.

This is hypocritical-- you condemn DR for selective nationalism, then condemn Artful for not accepting your own professed belief in something essentially the same, if not worse.

How am I hypocritical? Also I did not condemn DR. I disagreed on something. I have no idea what a selective nationalist is.

Look I have no idea what white nationalists read. I'm aware of some of the websites but I have a lot of books and I don't think I own any that are about white nationalism. Actually, I'm sure I don't after thinking about it.

However, I read the Autobiography of Malcolm X. I have some of Ho Chi Minh's writings. I have a book of interviews with Chávez.

I mean.... a freedom fighter who fights for the liberation of his people.... that is not the same as a person who hates on Muslims.

I just noticed I have a copy of the Black Jacobins.

So when I'm talking about nationalism..... as far as the English speaking world is considered I'm talking about Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, for example.

A heroic Palestinian who fights for his people (without using wrong means) is a hero and an inspiration for the whole world.

The real heroes of the Old Testament are the Israelites- not the Egyptians. If white nationalists think they're the OT Israelites, they're in la la land. They're more like the OT Egyptians.

Moses (PBUH) is a Prophet in three of the major world religions.

Moses (PBUH) killed an Egyptian. Apparently, the Egyptians had problems too.

But it wasn't the Egyptians who produced Moses (PBUH). So yes, like billions of people I admire Moses (PBUH). There were people plotting against Moses (PBUH). I'm sure there were Egyptians who hated him.

I'm for Moses (PBUH). I'm not for Pharoah.

A person cannot come out here with a Donald Trump hat. I would never harm anyone for simply wearing a Trump hat. I don't believe in that.

But if someone came where I live with a Trump hat...... they might leave in an ambulance.

Nationalism is as normal as air where I live. It's as normal as the air we breathe. In a sense, it's part of the air we breathe.

However, whatever that word means.... for other people...... what "nationalism" means here is very different....

WHEN I WAS A KID I USED TO SEE THE CONFEDERATE FLAG ALL THE TIME....

but you come over here.... someone comes over here with that.... I'm peaceful... I won't have anything to do with it but..... it would not go well

I know the VCF crowd gets oh-so-shocked if I mention.... just some facts....

you should have seen when Black Lives Matter was big.......

if you're a white nationalist..... you're free to your views tbh..... but white nationalism is another galaxy to me.....

The Israelites were nationalists and the Egyptians were nationalists.... but those were very different forms of nationalism. The kind of nationalism I admire is the nationalism of Ethiopia defeating Italy- not the nationalism of Italy invading Ethiopia.

The kind of nationalism I admire is not like the white nationalism where they were laughing and celebrating at Muslims being killed. I never saw ANYONE celebrate the "BLM kidnapping". Yet everyone was on board with BLM. BLM was powerful and I myself saw it was a power.

People laughing at innocent Muslims being killed is not a story of heroic nationalism.... what I admire is stuff like this:

Hugo Chávez taking on Bush......

Chávez was absolutely right in what he said. I might disagree with other views he had- but Chávez was absolutely right to tell the world the truth about George Bush. Chávez wasn't lying. Bush really was the devil.

Yes once again you can love your people and I agree defending them against wrong doing or oppression is an obligation. However, we can not support them in wrong doing, and in the oppression of others:

It is narrated by Abu Daud that the Messenger of Allah (Salal Lahu Alehi Wasalam) said, "He is not one us who calls for `Asabiyah, (nationalism/tribalism) or who fights for `Asabiyah or who dies for `Asabiyah."

Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Azeez ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked:

What is your opinion on the call for nationalism which believes that belonging to a race or language takes precedence over belonging to a religion, and these groups claim that they do not oppose religion, but they give nationalism precedence over it. What is your opinion of this call?

He replied:

This is a jaahili call ( a call to ignorance), and it is not permissible to join it or encourage those who promote it. Rather it must be put an end to, because Islamic sharee’ah opposes it and rejects it. We should refute their specious arguments and claims with that which makes the truth clear to those who seek it. Islam is the only thing that preserved Arabness in language, literature and culture. Rejecting Islam leads to destroying Arabness in language, literature and culture. Hence the daa’iyahs should strive their utmost to call people to Islam just as the colonialists are striving their utmost to destroy it.

It is a well known principle of Islam, that no Muslim has any excuse for not knowing, that the call for Arab nationalism or any other kind of nationalism, is a false call, grave error and blatant evil; it is a bad (ignorant)jaahili attitude and a plot against Islam and its followers. That is due to many reasons that we have explained in a separate book entitled Naqd al-Qawmiyyah al-‘Arabiyyah ‘ala Daw’ al-Islam wa’l-Waaqi’ (Criticism of Arab Nationalism in the Light of Islam and Reality).

Ibn Taymiyah (RH) said: "Everything that is foreign to the call of Islam and the Qur'an, with regards to lineage, land, nationality, schools of thoughts and methodologies, then that is from the calls of the Days of Ignorance (jahiliyah). Once the Muhajireen and the Ansar argued, such that one of the Muhajireen said: 'O Muhajireen!' (meaning, come to assist me) And one of the Ansar said: 'O Ansar!' Upon hearing this, the Prophet (salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: 'Is it with the calls of Jahiliyah that you cry out, while l am still amongst you?!' [Reported by Al-Bukhaaree (8/137)] And he became very angry at that."[Majmoo'-ul-Fatawa (3/456)]

"A believer (in regards to) to another believer is like a solid building, one part supports the other." - and then he interlaced his fingers to demonstrate this. [Al-Bukhari (no.481) and Muslim (no.2585)

"lndeed, Allah has revealed to me that you should have humbleness. And that no one should act proudly and oppressively over anyone else, nor should one boast over anyone else." - Saheeh Muslim (8/120)

Think of it this way, we support our families and cousins and communities when they are engaged in the good aspects of culture and in defense from wrong actions by others. Likewise, we will not support them in reviling others and in the oppression of others. " My tribe right or wrong or my nation right or wrong" does not work for us on the Day of Judgement. As with all things in life, take the good and leave the bad or immoral.

Elsbet is entirely right and I was going to call out the exact same hypocrisy. You can't call yourself a nationalist and deny the nationalism of others lest make yourself look like a racist. If you seriously think Europeans have known no oppression and only inflicted suffering on others than you need to expand your library.

No one talked about "white" nationalism except you and Captain Valerio. You insert "white" to racialize and demonize it. Nationalism is the belief in the self-determination of a people with common ancestry and language. That means that Italians and Brits, Germans and Russians, French and Greeks, all white, yet culturally quite different, should have the right for the civilisation and society groomed by their ancestors to continue to be shapen naturally and democratically, because it takes generations for a society to achieve stability, peace and communal consent.

Europeans are not like Latin people. We don't have this pan-national sentiment that the Americas and Africa have. French, Greek, Russians, Germans, Danish, Brits, are all culturally similar yet too distinct and historically too much at odds with one another to be considered an ethnico-cultural group. It's in fact the pan-European aspect of the European Union that is being rejected by the European people because there's no such thing as a European people and the autonomy of the individual nations is being dismantled by this pan-European umbrella government.

Instead of supporting the cry for independence of the genuine European communities, you and Valerio parrot the mainstream mantra , demonizing genuine resistance to tyranny and in doing so facilitate the true imperialism that has been plaguing many civilisations, including yours, ie. globalism. You clearly have not yet successfully identified the true enemy of the people who seek freedom.

How am I repeating the mainstream mantra?

At least you are actually discussing.

I am not being hypocritical. Thinking Marcus Garvey is an admirable historical figure doesn't mean I have to support white nationalists.

The other day I came across a younger man who was reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X. Encouraging a person to learn about the life and ideas of Malcolm X is not the same as what the white nationalists do.

It's not my fault that white nationalists choose to be evil. It's not my fault that the white nationalists were celebrating what happened in NZ.

Like I said, I never saw ANYONE celebrating the "BLM kidnapping". And no one even died in the "BLM kidnapping".

Nationalism in many communities has been about empowering the community without being about oppressing others or causing harm to them. I encouraged people in the hood to read and learn and to learn from a perspective that more closely reflected their interests and concerns.

I had a black nationalist tell me that the most revolutionary thing he could do was raise his family. Raise your family, teach your kids about God. That's cool stuff.

I mean the big thing in black nationalism.... just to try to use examples from the English speaking world..... is for black people to own their own businesses. It's not a secret plot to oppress white people.

The idea that nationalism is one thing is false. There's a bunch of different forms of nationalism and in different communities. Muhammad Iqbal, Marcus Garvey, Tupac. Mussolini, Hitler, Malcolm X- are all examples of nationalists yet they are much, much different than each other.

If your idea of nationalism is teaching your kids about the history of Belgium (for example) and engaging in passionate debates about Belgian history and encouraging people to take an interest in the history of Belgium, promoting books about Belgium.... what do I care? That's perfectly fine and laudable.

Why don't the white nationalists say "let's promote Shakespeare.... let's read Aristotle.... let's express our pride and solidarity by promoting Thomas Aquinas"? That's not my fault they're not saying that.

meanwhile the black nationalists are talking about building families, owning their own business and encouraging love for black history, encouraging love for figures like Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X

meanwhile the white nationalist community is a cesspool.....

and whose fault is that? they chose to turn it into a cesspool. They're responsible. it's not my fault they're not talking about God and family. It's not my fault they don't respect the moral law.

They're responsible for their own choices.

Nationalism is like a car. Nationalism is neither good nor bad. Nationalism is a powerful tool. You can use it for good or bad. You misuse it, you can hurt others and the car itself is destroyed. You use it for good and you can potentially pass the car on to your children. You misuse it and God takes the car from you.

That is what has happened and this is why there are certain cultural differences in the world. Some people used the car for good and the car has been passed down for generations successfully. Others used the car for wickedness and the car was taken from them by the Will of God.

That's probably one of the worst posts I've ever read.
Where is the content, AR?

I mean you can keep trying to score "sick burns" but I'm not seeing you actually say anything. I'm waiting for you to actually say something.

Honestly, you've been doing this consistently and I'm not interested in replying. "Your face is dumb" is not an intellectual rebuttal. You are resorting to gimmicks because you are incapable of actually refuting my points, my points stand, your inability to refute them is noted and there is no reason for further discussion.

For starters, you begin with "at least you are discussing" to then switch over to not discussing a single point I've made.

Then, even though I explicitly told you you insert "white" to racialize and demonize an insurgence of Europeans against tyranny and population replacement, you again insert "white" to racialize and demonize it for the entire post.

Even though I explained to you that within the "white" race there's a huge variety of different nations, you amalgamate all of them who seek to preserve their identity and political and cultural autonomy into one without any respect for ethnic distinction and call all of them evil:
It's not my fault that white nationalists choose to be evil.
White nationalism is a thing among a fringe minority that gets disproportionate media attention and grows only because the political and media establishment keep radicalizing this group of people through demonization, ostracism and continuing on the same path that gets them even more radicalized. The mainstream media (and you, yes) perpetuate this mantra that this resurgence of nationalism has to do with racial supremacy and the oppression of others while it has simply to do with national sovereignty. You fell for that one hook, line and sinker.

Malcolm X was a racial segregationist. His nation was the blacks. Yet this somehow is a "good nationalism", while white nationalism which is a figment of your imagination is bad.

You say black nationalism promotes the family ... I literally facepalmed when I read this. If we take the US, the nuclear family has, at least for the past 60 years, been defended by conservatives, large majority white. When people (white or black, you should listen more to Larry Elder and Thomas Sowell) speak out about the main reason of blacks lagging behind in society, namely the absentee father (73% of black kids in the US is raised without a father in the household), they get trashed by the mainstream black nationalist movements. One of the key points of European nationalists is the negative fertility rates among European natives. They want their treasonous political class to implement family friendly policies that stimulate procreation instead of the incessant adverse policies that do the exact opposite.

You say black nationalists want blacks to own businesses, but 95% of blacks vote bigger government and more taxes for businesses, while the majority of European nationalists vote smaller government and less taxes for businesses so all wannabe and active entrepeneurs, regardless of race or creed, would have more freedom and opportunity in the market.

You seem to have twisted everything upside down. There wasn't a single point in your post that had any bearing on reality and all your posts here reek of a tremendous prejudice against "whites".
