You're right God is not a liar. And I will never say or imply He is. Ever heard of the first and second commandments of God's eternal law? The first says, "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. “You shall have no other gods before Me" (Exodus 20:2-3). That includes ourselves. The second says, "You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments" (Exodus 20:4-6). Is God suggesting we break His commandments? Something He warns us not to do from the Old to the New Testament? Christ goes as far as telling us if we love Him, we should keep His commandments.

You have misunderstood Psalm 82 and John 10:34-38 and the meaning of the word "gods".

These so called gods are rebuked in Psalm 82 so this means they are a rebellious people while exercising God's attribute of judging so this Psalm is ultimately drawing a picture of God Judging the wicked judges.

Psalm 82:5-6 says, "They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable. I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High."

Jesus used this term in John 10:34 speaking of the Jewish leaders lording it over the common people as if they were gods (non capitalised). “You are gods." Psalm 82 is an arraignment of unjust judges, spoken of as "gods". This and nowhere else in the Bible does it suggest that men are divine. Though we were made in His image, we certainly do not possess the attributes of God. God is omnipotent (all powerful), He’s omnipresent (everywhere), and He’s omniscient (knows all things). Humans are neither omniscient, omnipresent, or omnipotent. They aren’t anything like the one true God. In addition, God is self-existent and eternal, whereas man is not.

Rabbinical tradition applied the term "gods" to those who received the law: "The Israelites accepted the Torah only so that the Angel of Death should have no dominion over them (Psalm 82:6-7). Jesus made His reply in terms of this tradition.

Remember Satan tried to replace God and we know where that ended up! One fairly popular religion teaches that we can become gods and goddesses if we try hard enough. The Bible declares that the saints will become priests and kings and then only by the blood of Jesus Christ and not our works. I choose to believe the Bible, not some man made doctrine that teaches otherwise.

And connecting it to the false book of Enoch is wrong because it is a mixture of truth and error (mostly error) and that will always make it a false book. I posted some of the lies from the book of Enoch in my thread "The Giants/Nephilim in the Bible." I'll repost some of those lies here.





Paul tells us that we need to love the truth (the whole truth not just some of it) to survive the end time events, “and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved" (2 Thessalonians 2:10).

Paul also describes the opposite of having the love of the truth as having “itching ears.” “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

The word "Satan" is Hebrew and means "the Opposer".

When anyone says the exact opposite of what it actually says in Scripture, they are obviously seeing things upside down and backwards, through human eyes, as you undoubtedly are. And as long as someone is seeing and reading with human eyes instead of spiritual eyes, their nonsensical explanations will be the work of Satan.

Satan works THROUGH the flesh (human).

The human can be tempted with worldly/materialistic treasures and pleasures. A human can NEVER keep God's Law/Commandments, nor can it understand ANYTHING spiritual, because all of these things are spiritual and thus foreign to the human. It therefore should be self-evident that the human, controlled and motivated by God's Enemy/Opposer (Satan) to serve its "self" can NEVER please nor serve God (Rom. 8:5-8).

God works THROUGH the spirit-Being (Soul).

Doing God's Will requires being reborn as one's true, SPIRITUAL self (John 3:3-7), KNOWING that one is an immortal spirit-Being that is only temporarily incarnated inside the human animal body that is seen in the mirror. Without doing this it is IMPOSSIBLE to even see the Kingdom of God, much less be able to enter it, exactly as Christ has plainly stated.

The "explanation" that you've offered is from a decidedly human perspective, which is why it's in obvious ERROR, as it is trying to claim that passage is somehow saying the exact opposite of what it actually says.

Read Psalm 82:5-6 that you've quoted AGAIN, this time with SPIRITUAL EYES.

Psalm 82:5-6 says, "They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable. I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High."

Christ, through the mouth of Jesus, quoted Psalm 82:6 to illustrate that stating the TRUTH -- that we ARE gods/the Sons of God/Sons of The Most High, just as He (Christ) IS the Son of God -- is repeated throughout Scripture.

Further, and with regard to Enoch, why would anyone try to discredit a prophet of God or their testimony? Enoch is the ONLY one God ever "translated" (changed from one state, location, form to another) because ENOCH'S TESTIMONY PLEASED GOD.

Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Why would anyone in their right mind attack and attempt to discredit Enoch's testimony -- found in the Book of Enoch -- if it pleased God?

I disagree and so does the Word of God and that is because you mix Christian beliefs with pagan beliefs. So you are always all over the place with your beliefs. The Bible says, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon" (Matthew 6:24).

Plus God cannot and would never say anything that breaks His own commandments which are proof of His character. And that is that!

The book of Enoch is not of God and never will be. Its why its not in the Bible which was divinely inspired by and put together by the Holy Spirit through inspired people. If anything is not in the Bible that's because it was never meant to be. God does not make mistakes.

I am not going to change my beliefs so lets agree to disagree okay? I will stick to Bible doctrine only.

Angels holding the four winds.

Revelation 7:1-3, "After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree. Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying, “Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”

The four corners of the earth represent the whole earth as signified by the four points of the compass. Wind represents commotion, strife, war or disaster in Bible symbology as shown in Jeremiah 49:36-37 or political commotion (as in Daniel 7:2 and Jeremiah 25:32). Here we find winds as a symbol for troubles and difficulties. In Jeremiah 51:1, Babylon is described as a destroying wind, showing us that winds represent war.

The Lord is in control of events. He is allowing or preventing nations and world events to take place according to His timeline. And He is preserving this world from total destruction for the sake of His people. There is a work to be done in them and by them as a witness to the world before the winds can be released, so the angels are "holding" the winds, waiting for the events of Revelation 7 to take place, so that the winds may then be loosed.

The winds are kept from blowing on the "earth", the "sea", and any "tree" (Daniel 4:20-22; Psalm 1:1-3; 92:12; 37:35; Jeremiah 17:7-8). These symbols represent specific things: the "sea" represents "peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues", (Revelation 17:15) and in contrast the "earth" represents "uninhabited areas", and a "tree" represents "humanity or mankind".

Angels in the Judgment.

Of the final scene of the judgment the prophet Daniel, while an exile in Babylon, writes: “A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court [judgment] was seated, and the books were opened” (Daniel 7:10).

In this most important of all court scenes, the Judge is represented as having more than a million angels as His assistants, while more than a hundred million are court attendants. The books containing the records of the lives of men are opened, the court is convened, and the judgment is set.

John, in vision on the lonely Patmos, adds important features to this imposing scene: “And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and the books were opened. … And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books” (Revelation 20:12).

At the great judgment day the record books of heaven will be opened, and the future of all will be decided according to what has been written therein by the recording angels.

Of the righteous as they near the end of this world’s history, we read, “Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord listened and heard them; so a book of remembrance was written before Him for them who feared the Lord and who meditate on His name” (Malachi 3:16).

This book of remembrance was written by those heavenly messengers who ministered before Him. It has been shown from the Scriptures that angels are ever present with men; that they minister to the people of God, and deliver them from evil. They behold all the actions of men; they hear every idle word that is spoken. They take notice of everything that will come into judgment. The conclusion is natural, and seems almost unavoidable, that the angels make the record of these things; that the books of human action are written by them. This belief is so generally accepted that the term, “recording angel,” has become proverbial.

Not only do the angels act as guardians and protectors to the servants of God, but they also execute judgments upon the wicked and disobedient.

When Balaam, the sinning prophet, started on his journey to the land of Moab to curse Israel, God’s anger was kindled against him, and the angel of the Lord met him, “and took his stand in the way as an adversary against him. … Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way with his drawn sword in his hand” (Numbers 22:22, 31).

Yet so blinded by avarice was Balaam that he still went on his journey, and was finally among the slain in the overthrow of Moab when they fought against Israel (Joshua 13:22).

When David sinned in numbering Israel, it is recorded that “God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it. … Then David lifted his eyes and saw the angel of the Lord standing between the earth and the heaven, having in his hand a drawn sword stretched out over Jerusalem” (1 Chronicles 21:15-16).

The eyes of David were opened, and he saw the messenger of destruction. By humility, confession of sin, and strong cries to God the plague was stayed, and the sword of the avenging angel was sheathed.

When Sodom became so wicked that its very presence could no longer be tolerated, two angels came to Lot with the message, “For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it” (Genesis 19:13).

When Sennacherib, king of Assyria, came against Israel and Jerusalem with an immense army, Hezekiah, king of Judah, cried to the Lord, “Then the Lord sent an angel who cut down every mighty man of valor … ” (2 Chronicles 32:21). And that night the angel slew 185,000 of the blasphemous host (2 Kings 19:35).

Coming to our own time, we are led to believe, in the language of another, “that the sudden judgments which frequently overtake evildoers are executed upon them by the angels of God.” Jehovah has not withdrawn His hand from the affairs of the world. The earth today is “filled with violence,” and is far worse than in the days of the visitations of old. Is it not reasonable, therefore, to suppose that God’s methods have not changed, and that His mighty angels have a part to act in some of the punishments of individuals in this life, as well as in the reverses which overtake some of the wicked nations?

Of the great harvest of the world, our Saviour speaks in His parable recorded in Matthew 13:37-39: “ ‘He who sows the good seed is the Son of man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age [world], and the reapers are the angels.’ ”

By these angels the good seed is brought into the garner, but the wicked, represented as tares, will be cast into the furnace of the great burning day.

Just prior to the second coming of Christ seven awful plagues will be sent upon the wicked (Revelation 15:1). These are to be poured out by seven angels selected for that purpose.

When the work of the gospel is finished, our Saviour will come again to this earth to take His faithful people to Himself. On this glorious mission He will be accompanied by all the holy angels (Matthew 25:31; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10).

Of this glad day the apostle Paul writes, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). This gathering of the saints will be made by the angels (Matthew 24:30-31).

As the archangel in midheaven sounds the trump of God, the earth trembles, the graves are opened, and the sleeping saints arise, clothed with immortality. The same angel who has watched over that humble saint through life, and has marked his final resting place, now stands by his grave; and as the child of God comes up from his dusty bed, he clasps him in his arms, and bears him away in triumph to their coming Lord. O glorious scene! Victory to the saints! Joyful triumph to the Son of God! And the angels share in the glory and the joy. They have borne an important part in the work of redemption, and they rejoice in its final success.

What in "Christianity" isn't pagan? "Christianity" worships a pagan 3=1 god, celebrates the pagan Yuletide/Christ-mass, Ishtar/Easter, holds its Babylonian sun-worship services on Sun-day, which are filled with pagan rites and rituals, in churches that Christ said only heathens and hypocrites attend (Matt. 6:5-8).

Everything I've posted about angels in this thread is the truth of the bible and always will be. Its why I always post a lot of scripture in my threads so people can look it up themselves. The Bible needs prayerful study though and I hope whenever anybody posts anything related to the Bible we always check it out and study it further to see if its biblical or not.

Beware of people who always want to distract from biblical truth by mudslinging especially when they don't know what they are talking about and show no proof either. Never take anyone's words at face value when it comes to spiritual matters. Only God has the final Word on anything.

I'm only in interested in having discussions with people who are interested in the unadulterated truth of the Bible nowadays. I'm done trying to prove myself to anyone. I know who I am and so does God. I also know when I post what I do its because I genuinely want Christians who've never had the opportunity to hear certain biblical truths to get to know them.

If a person who claims to be a Christian rejects the Bible that they claim is the infallible Word of God and keeps attacking me because I proved them wrong, I'll pray for them but I won't engage in any discussion with them any more.

Do angels know our needs?

The angels know our weaknesses and needs. The angel of the Lord came to Elijah when he was fleeing from Jezebel “...and touched him, and said, ‘Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.’ So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God” (1 Kings 19:7-8).

When our Saviour was in the wilderness of temptation, “angels came and ministered unto him” (Matthew 4:11). And at last in the Garden of Gethsemane, when all the world was against Him and the burden of our sins rested upon Him, we read that an angel appeared unto Him from heaven, strengthening Him (Luke 22:43).

The angels are interested in our salvation. In 1 Peter 1:12 we read that they desire to look into God's redeeming plans. Then, too, they are filled with joy when a sinner repents (Luke 15:10).

Do angels see and hear us?

The holy angels are unseen witnesses to our actions and our words. “Do not let your mouth cause your flesh to sin, nor say before the messenger of God that it was an error” (Ecclesiastes 5:6).

God knows what you said. God knows what you wrote. The angels of God were witnesses to every word. Every lie, every falsehood, has been recorded. In the day of judgment the angels will be the holy, truthful witnesses to every word and act.

“But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment” (Matthew 12:36).

That the angels of God do take part in the judgment, we read in Daniel 7:10, “A thousand thousands ministered to Him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, and the books were opened.”

What a solemn scene it is! And, since the angels are our ministering spirits and our lives are open before them, it is reasonable to believe that they make the records of our lives and that, when the books are examined, they will be present to minister before God.

It is then that Revelation 3:5 is overwhelmingly true, “He who overcomes...I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.”

Here is something to encourage us all. God has promised protection to His people in times of trouble, especially in the final days of this world, at the time of the seven last plagues. Here is His promise in Psalm 91, it will fill our hearts with comfort in dark hours.

Listen to this promise from God, “No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; [Why?] For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone” (Psalm 91:10-12).

Think of it, “He shall give His angels charge over you.” How wonderful, how precious! God has given His angels charge over us, if we are children of His, if we have given our hearts to Him.

Indeed... and we should always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks the reason for the hope in us-- for this, the bible is sufficient.

Wisdom should compel Christians to question why Ellen White saw fit to rewrite it.

Satan and his evil angels and their destiny.

The Bible tells us in Revelation 12:17, "And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

“Those who love and keep the commandments of God are most obnoxious to the synagogue of Satan, and the powers of evil will manifest their hatred toward them to the fullest extent possible. John foresaw the conflict between the remnant church and the power of evil.

"The forces of darkness will unite with human agents who have given themselves into the control of Satan, and the same scenes that were exhibited at the trial, rejection, and crucifixion of Christ will be revived. Through yielding to satanic influences, men will be transformed into fiends; and those who were created in the image of God, who were formed to honor and glorify their Creator, will become the habitation of dragons, and Satan will see in an apostate race his masterpiece of evil—men who reflect his own image.” Review and Herald, April 14, 1896.

To what are the fallen angels reserved?

Jude 6, "And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day."

2 Peter 2:4, "For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment."

The Bible tells us when Jesus returns the second time and takes his saints back with Him to heaven the earth will be left desolate. Mountains will be moved out of their places, cities and villages, will be shaken down by the mighty earthquake and will lay in heaps. Ragged rocks will be thrown out by the sea, or torn out of the earth itself and will be scattered all over. The earth will be the abyss or bottomless pit (meaning the earth will be without form) literally and that will be the home of Satan with his evil angels for a thousand years.

Revelation 20:1-2, "Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years."

Satan and his angels will be confined to the earth. They will have nothing to do because their chief occupation has always been to “deceive the nations” (Revelation 20:3).

So with the evil fallen angels as his only companions, Satan will have a thousand years to wander the broken planet (Luke 8:31).

A thousand years to ponder the results of his futile rebellion against God. And a thousand years of seeing what all his efforts—to deceive men into sin and opposing God’s plan—has come to.

Imagine being restricted to one place. All alone and surrounded by chaos and wicked companions. And having nothing to do but to just think of the results of all your bad choices.

That’s worse than a prison!

And that is exactly what earth will be for Satan throughout the Millennium.

At the time of the Millennium, a judgment will be taking place in heaven and its interesting who will take part in it.

“During the thousand years between the first and the second resurrection, the judgment of the wicked takes place. . . . At this time the righteous reign as kings and priests unto God. John in the Revelation says: ‘I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them.’ ‘They shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.’ Revelation 20:4, 6. It is at this time that, as foretold by Paul, ‘the saints shall judge the world.’ 1 Corinthians 6:2. In union with Christ they judge the wicked, comparing their acts with the statute book, the Bible, and deciding every case according to the deeds done in the body. Then the portion which the wicked must suffer is meted out, according to their works; and it is recorded against their names in the book of death.

What fate awaits the devil and his angels?

Matthew 25:41; "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels."

Revelation 20:7-9, "Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them."

“I entreat that there may be a putting away from the life every action which does not bear the approval of God. We are drawing near to the close of earth’s history; the battle is growing daily more fierce. There is a day appointed when men who have bowed to the mandates of Satan will find themselves the subjects of the wrath of God, when the Judge of all the earth shall pronounce the sentence against Satan and his adherents, "Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels" (Matthew 25:41). 2 Timothy 2:24-26; "And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will."
