Hi Lisa,

I’m all for modern language, so don’t let the KJV Elizabethan style put you off the content - the NKJV has broadly the same reading style as the NASB but doesn’t remove verses etc just because certain manuscripts do. I’m not going to press the point with you, but I would encourage you to at least keep an open mind on the question. God bless.
I’m going to stick with what I have, thanks.

Knowing what I know about the history, omissions and false translations in the other Bibles, I can’t use any Bible but the King James. I’ve always found it bizarre how angry some people get when I try and show them why the new versions are not trustworthy.

Isn't it strange just about every Modern Version "believer" think salvation can be lost. I wonder which spirits are behind these New Version whispering in their ears.

So you’ve retreated back to an outdated version? But I see why you guys think the way you do now, thanks.

Can't wait!
Wait for what? This is a hugely exciting year for those with awareness. Most people won't even notice what is happening, which is for the best. It's more of a gradual seamless transition to the new earth. You are already one of the few billion people who are now accessing the Trinity Wave, by the way. The full transfiguration of our lower three chakras was completed just last month, and this merging is the foundation of Christos lightbody activation because it allows the upper energy centers to fully access and finally activate our light body. The ability to actually transfer our forefront conscious awareness to the new earth is something we will learn slowly and eventually... like a young bird testing out wings. Had any flying dreams lately?

I thought it was just me that thought that honestly...

There isn’t anything behind the new version whispering in our ears...its in the scriptures themselves.

Call me outdated, but accuracy will always be more important to me than not having to grab a dictionary once in awhile.

It’s funny that the first thing Never KJV’s always say is, “The language is outdated,” as if having your ears tickled by “modern” speech is the mark of a good Bible, or reason to put up with heretical renderings of God’s word.

If you study it enough, Lisa, you kind of get used to the language. I don’t think I could ever get used to a Bible, though, that screws up my thinking the way I see the new versions screw up other people’s.

If there aren't any spirits behind these New Versions bringing in deception then why do you and Phipps can't agree on whether one can be re-save? You must be right and she's wrong? It's not just here, I hear this all the time outside of this forum that salvation can be lost and some gotta be re-re-born again. Turn out they used the New Version. I'm sure other can testified to this phenomenon.

At least the believer here that used KJV are consistent with salvation.

I don’t know why Phipps doesn’t like to incorporate Hebrews 6 into what she believes? Seems obvious to me. Phipps is female?

I guess I’m different in that I don’t believe if you’ve fallen away that you can be reborn again...seems that Hebrews 6 nixes that idea.

At least I understand better why the difference in believing osas or not. Something to think and pray on.

Haha.. I thought the phenomenon was osas...

Anyway...I talked about this years ago with someone I went to church with and she was shocked that I believed it...I didn’t think to ask if she was reading the kjv..but we went to the same church..so idk. She also didn’t like that I didn’t think Adam and Eve would be in heaven either...

The funny thing..I think the same thing about how you read the kjv.

If you have a Bible that’s not readable you aren’t going to read it, and I do believe that God want’s everyone to be saved and he’s going to give us a Bible that we can all read..even in these modern times. I don’t really want to do mental gymnastics to read the Bible and I really don’t think I have to. So that’s another reason I think the kjv should be put to rest. Modern language doesn’t have to equal bad.

In fairness, I had been a Christian for 30 years before I realised why there was such a discrepancy between translations. It was that realisation that made me look into the sources and history of the translations, why certain source documents were given extra authority by some, and the implications for which versions were more trustworthy.

Which steam of Christianity has a tendency to make Christians feel insecure in their salvation? A clue perhaps - it has a Pope! It is no coincidence that the versions of scripture that the Catholic Church has historically promoted have come from the Alexandrian route.

Red, not sure if there is already a thread, whenever you have time can you create a thread outlining these translation discrepancies and why some aren't trustworthy. These Modern Versions are a stumbling blocks to the path of being Born Again. Thanks

I have linked it before but it got a bit long and messy...

Doubt have been growing over the authority of the “critical text” (I.e. the idea that certain old copies of the Bible contain a more genuine record of the true scriptures than the “majority text”). These doubts have come due to a re-examination of the supposed great age of the Codex Sinaiticus. When people were able to study the digital copies, things didn’t add up.

A good source for the re-examination of this text is http://sinaiticus.net/. It was in part the “discovery” of this codex by Constantine Tischendorf that later led to the apostates, Westcott and Hort producing the Revised Version in the late 19th Century. This maimed version has been, in many ways the grandfather of modern translations and critical footnotes.

David Daniels has done a playlist on his YouTube channel that might bring you up to speed...

Hebrews‬ ‭6:4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
‭‭
I don’t see what the difference is here..it’s saying the same thing as the NASB..you guys are being ridiculous. And this version..doesn’t have the pope to thank for this verse?

Same for me.
