The Ten Lost Tribes
khouse.org/articles/1995/40

This month (June 1995) we celebrate the Feast of Shavout, or Pentecost. In Peter's famous speech on this day in Acts Chapter 2, he referred to both "Jews" and "Israel", which brings up an ubiquitous myth concerning the "Ten Lost Tribes" of Israel.

There are many groups that believe the northern tribes, separated during the rift between Rehoboam and Jeroboam after the death of Solomon (and subsequently taken captive by Assyria in 722 b.c.), later migrated to Europe and elsewhere.

The myth of the "Ten Lost Tribes" is the basis for "British- Israelism" and other colorful legends, but these stories have no real Biblical basis. They are based upon misconceptions derived from the misreading of various Bible passages.1

The Faithful Voted With Their Feet

Before the Assyrian captivity, substantial numbers from the northern tribes had identified themselves with the house of David.2 The rebellion of Jeroboam and subsequent crises caused many to repudiate the Northern Kingdom and unite with the Southern Kingdom in a common alliance to the house of David and a desire to worship the Lord in Jerusalem.3

In 930 b.c., Jeroboam ruled the Northern Kingdom from his capital in Samaria.4 When Jeroboam turned the Northern Kingdom to idolatry, the Levites (and others who desired to remain faithful) migrated south to Rehoboam.5

Horrified that Jeroboam had set up a rival religion with golden calf worship at Bethel and Dan, many Northerners moved south, knowing that the only place acceptable to God was the Temple on Mt. Moriah.6Those who favored idolatry migrated north to Jeroboam.

Later, when Asa reigned as king in the south, another great company came from the north.7

Years after the deportation by Assyria, King Hezekiah of Judah issued a call to all Israel to come and worship in Jerusalem and celebrate the Passover.8 Eighty years later King Josiah of Judah also issued a call, and an offering for the Temple was received from "Manasseh and Ephraim and all the remnant of Israel...."9

Eventually, all 12 tribes were represented in the south. God even addresses the 12 tribes in the south: "Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin...."10

The "tribe of Judah" (2 Kings 17:18, et al.) is used idiomatically for the Southern Kingdom.11 When encountering the tribal designations, it is important to distinguish between the territories allocated to the tribes and the people themselves.

The Northern Kingdom Falls

In 724 b.c. Shalmaneser V besieged Samaria for three years. King Hoshea of Israel attempted to revolt against paying Assyrians annual tribute money--a treaty with Pharaoh of Egypt did not help 12--and Samaria, Jeroboam's capital, fell in 722 b.c. with Sargon II seizing power in 721 b.c.

The Assyrians implemented their infamous policy of mixing conquered peoples to keep them from organizing a revolt. Israelite captives were mixed with Persians and others, and strangers from far-off lands were resettled in Samaria. The resulting mixed, quasi-Jewish populations became the "Samaritans."13 (You can read about this "fall" in 2 Kings 17.)

Not all from the Northern Kingdom were deported. Archaeologists have uncovered annals of the Assyrian Sargon, in which he tells that he carried away only 27,290 people and 50 chariots.14

Population estimates of the Northern Kingdom at that time range from 400,000 to 500,000; less than 1/20th were deported-- mostly the leadership from the capital, Samaria. The rest of the Northern Kingdom were taken by Assyria as slaves, which were a valuable commodity. (It is difficult to view the Assyrians as careless enough to let their captives wander off to Europe.)

When the Babylonians take over Assyria, the descendants of the "ten tribes" were probably again commingled with the captives of Judah.

The Babylonians Take Over

When the Northern Kingdom went into captivity (722 b.c.), all 12 tribes were also represented in the south. When the Babylonians took the Southern Kingdom into captivity (586 b.c.), members of all 12 tribes of Israel were involved. Isaiah, prophesying to Judah, refers to them as the "House of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel..." (Isaiah 48:1; cf. vv. 12-14).

Post-Captivity Terminology

After the Babylonian captivity, the terms "Jew" and "Israelite" are used interchangeably. Ezra calls the returning remnant "Jews" 8 times and "Israel" 40 times. (Ezra also speaks of "all Israel": Ezra 2:70; 3:11; 8:35; 10:25, et al.) Nehemiah uses the term "Jew" 11 times and "Israel" 22 times. Nehemiah too speaks of "all Israel" being back in the land (Nehemiah 12:47). The remnant who returned from Babylon is represented as "the nation" (Malachi 1:1, et al.).

The same is true in the New Testament. Our Lord is said to have offered Himself to the nation, "the lost sheep of the house of Israel" (Matthew 10:5-6; 15:24). Tribes other than Judah are mentioned specifically in the New Testament as being represented in the land.15

Anna knew her tribal identity was of the tribe of Asher (Luke 2:36). Paul knew he was of the tribe of Benjamin, a "Jew" and an "Israelite" (Romans 11:1). The New Testament speaks of "Israel" 75 times and uses the word "Jew" 174 times.16

At the Feast of Pentecost Peter cries, "Ye men of Judea" (Acts 2:14), "ye men of Israel..." (Acts 2:22), and "All the house of Israel" (Acts 2:36).

Regathered as One

Ezekiel 36 and 37, the Dry Bones Vision, declares that Judah (Jews) and Israel (10 tribes) shall be joined as one in the regathering.17 This is true today. (The total physical descendants were not the people to whom the promises were made [Romans 9:4-7].)

Anti-Semitism

Accompanying some of the legends of the so-called "Ten Lost Tribes" are aspersions on the present State of Israel and the people being regathered in the Land. These various theories such as "British Israelism" are by their nature anti-Semitic because they deny the Jewish people their proper place in the plan of God. Let's remember that Genesis 12:3 has never been repealed!

Israel is being regathered in the land just as God has announced.18 There is yet to come an event which will awaken them to realize that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob once again has His hand upon them (Ezekiel 38, 39). I believe this event could happen at any moment. 19

The Throne of David was promised to the Son of Mary (Luke 1:32). I believe His taking possession of it is on the near horizon. Maranatha!

Wow this is a very interesting, thanks for sharing. I was wondering about this since I have a great interest as to where people come from and have come across this specific ten lost tribes theory while searching how people dispersed on the earth after the flood.

Why do you think people try to promote or teach this Israelism? Do people think if they are somehow part of Israel that makes a difference to their salvation?

Yes. It's called Hebrew Roots, but if you're looking for the definitely cult version that is called The Twelve Tribes.

They (12 Tribes) do shun those who leave and forcing a covenant to begin with? No.

They (both groups and more) think it does make a difference to their salvation because they will get to enter the New Jerusalem by one of the 12 gates based on their tribe.

We don't know who is the ten tribes sealed. I don't think it's necessary to find out about it. I think we'll just wait and see until the Book of Revelation is fulfilled. The ten tribes from this list I mean.
Rev 7:5-8 Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, Benjamin.

But I think, there are some clues for the Tribe of Dan.

Please bear in mind that THIS IS ALL SPECULATIVE.

If you look deeper into the origin of Freeeeemas0nry and its teachings of Temple of Solomon, you will understand why it is very connected to Tribe of Dan. Hiram Abiff (Huram 'abi in the bible) from the tribe of Dan who were involved in the building of the temple as the designer. He is regarded as the Mas0nic Legend. He is the center core and inspiration of FMry.
2 Chronicles 2:13-14
13 “I am sending you Huram-Abi, a man of great skill, 14 whose mother was from Dan and whose father was from Tyre.

Huram, King of Tyre and Huram-abi resided as the grandmaster of the lodges which they established. Their symbolic degrees were instituted and their system of initiation were invented and from that period to the present FMry has passed them down. Their symbolism rest upon (or derived from) Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem. So pretty much satan uses solomon's disobedience in creating his own doctrine.

https://ascensionglossary.com/index.php/Lost_Tribe_of_Dan
The Tribe of Dan inherited the pre-flood paganism [Baal worship] of the Canaanites [descendants of Ham and his son, Canaan] who occupied the northern area of Palestine at Mt. Hermon/Sion. Located at the 33rd degree, the ancient tribe of Dan influenced the basis of modern Freeeeemas0nry.
The symbols of the tribe of Dan are used by the Merovingians, the House of Stuart [Prince Michael] and the Judeo-Masonic authors of the Protocols of Sion[Representatives of Sion of the 33rd degree].
During the days of the Biblical Great Exodus, a group separated from Moses and went to the North. This group was the Tribe of Dann. Millions went and settled in the European and Scandinavian areas. [Just for information, FMry was originated in England]

Also, this one is very interesting.
"There are certain facts that suggest that the Celts might have derived from a Jewish tradition from the East. The Celtic body of ecclesiastical and civil knowledge was Druidism. Their system can be traced to about 1800 B.C. It is recorded in ’Welsh Triads’ that Hugh Gadarn synthesized the wisdom of the ancients for those whom he led west from Sumer and Mesopotamia. In ’The Psalter of Cashel’ it states that: ’The Tuatha Dé Danann ruled in Ireland for about two centuries, and were highly skilled in architecture and other arts from their long residence in Greece.’ The Tuatha Dé Danann were the descendants of Danaus, the son of Belus, who went with his fifty daughters to Argos, the home of his ancestrous Io. In Irish legends the Tuatha de Danaan, who were considered to be demi-gods, were said to have possessed a Grail-like vessel. These teachers of wisdom were the founders of the Druidic priesthood." [Van Buren, p. 141-142]"

Also, it seems the elites and royal bloodlines seem to have connection with the Dan and the acknowledge this.

Now, even though most of ancient teachings are pagan, including chinese, but I'm very intrique that European paganism and history are very connected to the pagan that is in the bible.

Again, please bear in mind that THIS IS ALL SPECULATIVE.

If you mean British-Israelism, the basic cause is satanic hatred of God's chosen people. British-Israelists hold that the people we know as Jews are frauds, and that the real Jews are the British people. Other people (not necessarily British-Israelists) believe the "Jews" are really Khazars, or that Israel has been replaced by the Church, or American natives, or something. It's all hogwash, and the goal is to deny Jews their past, and to cast doubt on the fulfillment of promises God made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

A complete study of the word of God rejects the idea of any lost tribes of Israel, and any doctrine that attempts to separate the physical house of Israel from the promises God has made to them is showing disregard for some pretty strong words from God himself on this subject. Nothing and no one has replaced Israel.

Sorry. The ideology, or belief, is not that simplistic, but maybe, in some ways, as satanic. It might be that some British Israelites believe that, but it is, or can be, considerably more nuanced. Strains of British Israelism, for instance, were active during the years of the Balfour Declaration. British Israelites often saw themselves in alliance with Jews, not as having replaced them, and when General Allenby marched into Jerusalem, they saw it as prophecy fulfilled: Prophet Ezekiel's two sticks were merging, the house of Israel and that of Judah, and they were all finally coming home, as had been foretold.

"In Britain, the movement [British Israelism] supported the British Establishment and the British Empire, and felt that actual Jews ... were partners to the Anglo-Saxons. It was thus a God-ordained destiny for the British to rule in Palestine and issue the Balfour Declaration, which identified Palestine as a Jewish homeland. In this sense, British-Israelism also paved the way for the more mainstream Christian Zionism."

Soon enough, some Jews of Palestine, especially Irgun and Haganah, disabused the British Israelites of their prophetic (interpretive) fantasies when, by use of (pick a card) asymmetric warfare, terrorism or freedom-fighting, they kicked the British out of Palestine and claimed the place for themselves.

"When supporters of British-Israelism spoke of bringing the Jews to Palestine, what they meant was supporting the British Empire’s rule of the area. Instead what they got were Jewish terrorists working against British interests in the region ..."

You mean this Chuck Missler?

Koinonia House | Chuck Missler
www.chuckmissler.com/wiki/koinonia-house

Koinonia House, or K-House as we are affectionately called, is dedicated to the development and distribution of materials for encouraging and facilitating serious study of the Bible as the inerrant Word of God. We are a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization.

It's always - "non-profit" 501(c)3 organization

i.e. = tax-exempt status (on condition that everything they preach is government approved)

That means they are controlled, since everything they preach must fall in line with the government's agenda. Otherwise (if they step out of line) they lose their "tax-exempt status". So, it means that they can't (won't dare) speak the truth.

"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

So in other words it's just 'government/zionist approved' propaganda designed to keep fooling Christians (so that they/you will remain clueless) while their plans are being carried out.

So, what was it that these zioNAZI collaborators said again?

That is completely the opposite of the truth.
Nothing and no one has replaced Israel.
The British are the House of Israel.

Ezekiel 11:14 Again the Word of the "I AM" came unto me, saying,
11:15 Son of man, thy brethren, [even] thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the House of Israel wholly (the British), [are] they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the "I AM": unto us is this land given in possession (Idumean zionists - 1948).

The word Celt is the Anglicised form of the Greek word Keltoi, which means "the people who are different.*" In Scripture, all nations, except the Twelve Tribes of Israel, are referred to as Gentiles (Foreigners), so the only people who are different are Israel. The word Celt is therefore another word for Israelite. The Celts are part of the Ten "lost" Tribes of Israel; as are the Tuatha de Danaan and Milesians. The Irish people are a mixture of Celts; Danaans; Milesians; Judah/Zarahites (of the "Red Hand" - Genesis 38:28-30§); (Dan-ish) Vikings and Norsemen and are all racially cousins.

§ Genesis 38:28 And it came to pass, when she travailed, that [the one] put out [his] hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first.
38:29 And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? Why has thou made [this] breach against thee? Therefore his name was called Pharez (Breach).
38:30 And afterward came out his brother, that had the
scarlet thread upon his hand: and his name was called Zarah (Scarlet).

Sorry. The ideology, or belief, is not that simplistic, but maybe, in some ways, as satanic.
Let's split the difference and call it satanic hatred of God. :)

Satan hates God and works to corrupt God's plan for humanity's redemption through Jesus Christ, a son of the house of Israel. Satan's first major effort against the house of Israel is recorded in Exodus when the king of Egypt began to promote lies and conspiracy theories about Israel, a people who had been invited by the previous Pharaoh to come and live in Egypt.

Exodus 1:10 - Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

This first solution to the Jewish problem led to 400 years of slavery for them, but ended in disaster for Egypt. There's a lesson there for the wise. Anyway, since then, there have been many proposed and attempted solutions to the Jewish problem, but at the heart of it has always been the satanically-inspired desire to disrupt God's plan. I am sure that, if some of the Christian antisemites on this board thought about it, they would see that the Jews aren't the problem -- Israel isn't the problem.

I don't know how anyone who has accepted Jesus Christ, a Jew, and has read in the Bible that Israel is the apple of God's eye, and has also read in the Bible about Satan's previous attempts to smear and exterminate the Jews, and has also read in the Bible that Satan is the father of lies, can believe anything they read in the media about Israel. Satan wants to destroy Israel. He has tried it through slavery, pogroms, and holocaust, but his most effective tool has always been the use of lies, and it makes me sick to see Christians spread satanic lies about Israel.

Ask yourself if anyone could be as evil as the Jews are portrayed. Ask yourself who would tell lies about God's people.

If you think Missler is the one who came up with the doctrine he teaches, you need to think more. This is pretty standard stuff, around long before America was a country or had the ability to grant tax status.

Anyway, the remainder of your post seemed more a tangent, more a sermon than a response to the substance of mine, and, in any case, had nothing, or little, to do with the ten "lost tribes." That is what I want to discuss. Let's make another deal: you get back to me if you want a discussion of the topic, and I will let you know when I want a sermon.
I was responding to this.

Which is as good an example of lies told about Jews as anything else. Who kicked the British out of Palestine? Not the Jews. Not anyone. But here you are acting like that was the case.

If you have some Biblical perspective on the OP, which is based solely on scripture, please share it with us. But if you're going to recycle lies about Jews that have nothing to do with what the Bible says, other than confirming pervasive hatred of God's people, I'm sure there are other threads for it. :)

In this case the red herring is deployed to associate any organisation that is a non profit organisation of sufficient size and note to apply for the status. The use made of it here is to key into the conspiratorial mindset “follow the money” “all controlled by those Masons/Jews/Reptilians” narrative. For those persuaded by this line, it becomes easy to convince them as they are already primed.

If not the British, against whom, then, were Irgun fighting when they blew up the King David Hotel? I never said "the" Jews -so I am not "acting" like anything. The British ultimately withdrew from Palestine, but they had some considerable help by being kicked in the back side by Irgun (pick a card) guerrillas, terrorists or freedom fighters. It was because of such actions as those that the so called British Israelites, as is documented in the above-referenced book, parted company, disillusioned, with their would be Jewish "brothers" in Palestine.

You didn't stipulate, until now, that responses had to be Biblically based or restricted exclusively to the Bible. In case you haven't noticed, the Bible often purports to tell history, and the ten lost tribes are, at least in theory, found in more places than Chuck Missler's synopsis of them. Read, for instance, the Jewish Encyclopedia entry on the topic and you'll find it contradicts Missler on key points.

I plead not guilty to either of your above charges, but will leave your thread.
