The comments about how ridiculous it is for her to say that this is only fabric are awesome.

Just because it doesn't have the boning of a corset doesn't mean that isn't meant to resemble a corset. The fabric still creates structure, there are grommets vertically so that it can be laced up the center like a corset.

Even if we did go with the, it's okay, it's only fabric argument, there is transparent fabric on top of fabric that looks like it has more structure resembling adult clothing. Making the whole thing solid would have made this more appropriate for a child.

On top of that, this corset is stitched to what looks like the child's version of an adult silk nightgown. Making the dress a tank top instead of a spaghetti strap dress in a shiny silk would have also made this garment more appropriate for a child.

So her argument that this is a fabric corset so it is okay for her daughter to wear it, is ridiculous to any grown women who has ever shopped in the women's nightgown and underwear department of any store selling clothing.

***but the absolute BEST part of learning about this controversy is finding out that even the people at International Business Times feel this is worthy of reporting on. Lol. The world is coming to an end.

Yes it's pretty bad when you dig into it all. They have to charge insane amounts, because they don't know shit about fashion. Think of it this way, most of these celebrity endorsements are the celebs getting hustled. They signed some shitty deal to put their name on something, and have some level of creative control. But they aren't making shit basically.

The only alternative to them not doing it this way, is them losing a ton of money. Because they would get destroyed in the retail world by themselves.
