The helper(the holy spirit): What has he spoken to you recently?

I created this thread as an enclave for those in Christ to gather together and share the various things in their journey as a Christian that the father speaks/shares to them. We know that God has given us the holy spirit as our teacher and helper in life.

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him 1 John 2:27

Whether we realize it or not he is always imparting knowledge and wisdom into us by speaking into our spirit through his, that is if we are truly in Christ. He is always showing us things, ministering to our hearts, allowing us to face situations in life that are both common and unique. He will show us the world through the word of God and through the mind of Christ.

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ 1 Corinthians 2:16

We have the mind of Christ which means we see the world differently than the world. God can use any circumstance and any situation in life to teach us when we know him and when we know the word of God and how it relates to said experience. I am hoping that the Christian can find comfort here seeing as how there are so few in this world that can truly relate to this particular journey. The father tells us to exhort each other daily with words of exhortation.

With that said please feel free to speak the things and revelations in the spirit that you feel God has impressed upon your heart today.

I will go first...

The lord has really been ministering to me lately in regards to just how dangerous the world is becoming as a place of true spiritual seduction and bondage. He has really been revealing to me just how dangerous it is to go astray, now more than ever. I honestly believe that in America we as Christians live in the most intense arena of spiritual warfare that this world has ever known. What makes these end time sins and instruments of bondage so captivating and mesmerizing is that many of them interact with the parts of our brain that release dopamine and form addiction. They interact with our brain much like heroin or some other highly addictive drug. The flicker rates on tvs and things like video games are scientifically designed to hook your mind and generate massive releases of dopamine. Porn generates some of the most powerful and sustained dopamine releases out there which is why it proves to be so addicting. Foods with excitotoxins meant to create bondage. This is an immense stumblingblock to the Christian since so much power in the holy spirit to do the will of God comes from fasting.

We are constantly being fed with scientificly designed inundations to enslave our will. In a wordly perspective this is psychological warfare, but to the Christian and diving even deeper it is purely spiritual warfare. There is a great and increasing spiritual seduction at work here.

We know that America is one massive satanic stronghold for the antichrist forces. We open spiritual doorways and give demons legal rights into our lives through sin and sinful entertainments. It is the goal of these spirits to keep us in bondage and quench the holy spirit, making us weak in the spirit and ineffective for the kingdom of God. The Bible speaks of mystery Babylon being a nest or a spiritual fortress for every kind of unclean spirit and I believe America through its vast techno sorceries and sins has become a true habitation of evil spirits. The Ephesians 6:12 forces.

God has really been showing me just how dangerous it is to just even entertain or indulge in seemingly minor sins, because the presence and power of the enemy is so great and thick in America now that its so easy to open the door to powers of seduction that the church just isnt any match for unless they are truly surrendered in Christ so the power of the holy ghost can manifest without that quenching that sin brings. He is showing me just how dangerous it is becoming to go astray, because of how hard it is to come back after going astray. The more sinful the world and America becomes the more we open spiritual doors and give legal rights to demon spirits. I know for a fact that it is so much harder and oppressive to abide in Christ than what it was just 5 or 6 years ago.

...another thing I feel the lord has shown me over the years is just how quick we are to forget that he is a father. The word of God says that those who endure until the end will be saved, but what I realize now that I didnt before is that enduring has almost nothing to do with our own efforts and determination. It has nothing to do with us and everything to do with what God has already done in us and the fact that he is a loving father. I have encountered many Christians who always motivate others to persevere and stay on course, to endure hardness and look to that eventual crown of glory lest they fall away and basically lose their salvation. I have no issue with encouraging other Christians to stay strong and keep the faith, but more often than not this idea that you can lose your salvation for not being able to endure puts allot of pressure and anxiety on so many of Gods children. Not only that, but it is an incredibly shallow view of Gods love. Its a failure to know who God is to us(a loving father). I would even go so far as to say its a failure to know what salvation is. Christians really speak like its an easy thing to just fall away from God, but what a terrible view this is of God as a father. What an offensive view of God.

If one is truly redeemed as one of Christs and born again by the spirit of God then that means they have the spirit of adoption and belong to the father. It is this very spirit of adoption(the holy spirit) that will always convict a Christian of sin and when they start drifting, this very spirit that will draw us to pray for refreshing from the father. It is the holy spirit that grieves inside of us when we begin to stumble in sin. When we drift Gods word tells us that he leaves his ninety nine sheep just so he can bring back the one. If we are truly persistent in being stiffnecked then God will even chastise us for correction and sometimes to the point of death. How hard would it be for a true Christian to fall away? To always fight his new nature by living in habitual sin despite always being grieved in the holy spirit, to fight Gods rod of correction. God always has a way of bringing his true children back. To make sure they never completely fall away from his ark of salvation. How does a true child of God win the fight against the holy spirit always grieiving within him for their sin? Its torment. How does one fight Gods correction and persist and win? He just gets chastised worse and worse. Between the conviction, and grieiving yourself to no end by sin, and fighting Gods hand of correction how do you win and escape? How do you just fall away?

What if we grow weary and start not to endure? If you saw your kid hanging from a ledge and starting to lose their grip are you not going to drop everything and rush to their aid? If you have an oxygen tank and see your son is gasping for breath are you not going to fix them with an oxygen mask? Would you not do anything and everything to help your own son or daughter when they start to grow weak and perish? If you would then how much more would God? What if we sincerely love and follow God? Will he just sit back as we become deceived into perdition? If someone gives your children bad directions that lead to a road with thugs and bandits and you are aware are you not going to call their cell phone a hundred times to warn them?

What a terrible view of God as a father to presume that he would just let any of his true children fall away by . Just the fact that one would even desire to endure until the end is a work of God by the holy spirit. It is a God given desire by a new heart. God did the work by changing you. You dont desire to endure apart what God has done in you.

The truth of the matter is these end times are going to become so perilous that nobody will be able to endure in their own strength and determination. If God removed his spirit then you
would get devoured by Satan and by the deadly lusts of your old man. You would go right back to not regarding God at all like all natural men. This is why I believe that enduring has nothing to do with our own efforts and determination. The very fact that you would even want to endure came from God.

The Holy Spirit is always impressing on me to walk in the light I have, to abandon all wordly things and to focus and submit myself to Christ everyday (which I struggle with sometimes) just like Christ submitted Himself to God the Father entirely. That is the only way we are going to survive what the devil has planned for these end times. The world is getting worse and worse just like a mother's labour pains and only God can give us the strength to endure what is coming ahead in the near future. We are not to be afraid when we have God on our side though.

Another way the Holy Spirit speaks to us is through scripture. One was sent to me this morning by my mother that says, "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:16-18).

I find that there is always just such an inner fire for the things of God when we are fully surrendered. That is because the holy spirit is no longer quenched by sin and the things of this world, and is finally able to reign inside of us at full capacity. The holy spirit is a person and he can then operate at full strength. I am able to see that once again for the first time in a while after getting rid of some idols in my life.

I think this may have to be a scripture I memorize and take to heart. I have been having pretty signifigant health problems the past year and a half. Its crazy how fast time goes by. If we live long enough we get to experience our outer man begin to perish. I am 32 and drove by my old elementary school yesterday. I marvelled at just how quick life is. The more wicked and unfuflilling this world becomes the more you begin to see just how vain it is to live for it, how badly you are selling yourself short to miss out on the kingdom of God for this world.

One thing that my journey with Christ has shown me and that I really began to notice as I grew in the lord was that nobody I engaged with really had a proper understanding of what true Christisnity is. I didnt even really know what it was at first when I look back.

I used to think it was just another religon and one of many with strict adherance There is this idea that by becoming a Christian that you give up the pleasures of this world and this is without a doubt the notion that turns most away. There is this idea that you live a life of self deprivation through abstaining from the pleasures that sin brings. In a world saturated with sinful pleasures and entertainments it is probably seen as a worse thing than suicide to deprive the self of all the pleasures of this world. There are so many and they feel so good(seemingly and at first).

The more I read the Bible and grew in Christ the more I began to realise just how incredibly off this outlook was. What made this outlook so terrible was that it always neglected to acknowledge the supernatural transformation and rebirth that true salvation brings along with the promise of the holy spirit. It fails to acknowledge the beauty of having accesibility to God as a new father and Christ as friend through the holy spirit. In my early days as a born again Christian I was really dedicated to the reading of scriptures, but looking back I knew it was God through the holy spirit drawing me to his word as this is what he does. I sought God and grew in the scripture and before I knew it I found myself being changed in very real and noticeable ways. I no longer desired the things I used to and only found myself constantly desiring God and the things of God. I now know that this is the work of the holy spirit. I really was a new man as the scripture speaks about. I remember every friday night I would long for the weekend and look forward to drunken rioting with my friends and giving myself over to the hypnotic trance of worldly music. Playing video games on the weekend. Now my heart longs and gets joy from the kingdom of God and is only focused on helping in ways to advance the kingdom of God. This concept of being born again and being turned into a new man(a new creation) that now has the mind of Christ with an immediate connection to God is what is not realized by nearly everyone who ever speaks of Christianity. There is no talk of the holy spirit when the holy spirit and his work and ministry and ability to change is arguably the most important concept in the new testament. If you are truly in Christ and been born again by the spirit of God then he is in you. He will change you and remove the desire for your most cherished sins by giving you a new heartin the likeness of Christ. This is what it means to be born again, yet these ideas and this understanding pretty much goes unrealized by the entire world. It is a beautiful thing to not even desire sin and darkness in your heart anymore. It is a beautiful thing to only find fulfillment in Gods love with the holy spirit working through you to advance his kingdom. Yet, sadly as the scriptures say the world is darkened in its understanding as the god of this age has blinded the world.

Wow the Holy Spirit has definitely been speaking to you and you've been been listening which we all need to do. It is being born again. The Bible says the Holy Spirit is given to those who decide they want to live in obedience to God.

The holy spirit is such a crucial and vital part of Christianity, yet he isnt even really known about or spoken of in the so called Christian nation that we live in. Personally I dont think you can even have a sermon that is truly beneficial to the Christian without the mention of the holy ghost. Its incredible and sad at the same time. The idea that Gods own spirit comes into a person and resides within them giving them new life and a new heart, and nobody really knows about it, because here in the west we have Satans perverted gospel and not the actual gospel of Jesus Christ that can save and transform a human soul by the power of the holy ghost.

Indeed. I find a lot of Christendom misunderstands the Holy Spirit. Many think that being baptised by the Holy Spirit means you have to speak in tongues. Speaking in tongues biblically means speaking in another language and is a spiritual gift from God. We don't all get the same spiritual gifts either so how can everyone speak in tongues. Others don't understand how crucial the Holy Spirit is if we want to submit to and obey God's will. So because of those and many other misunderstandings, the Holy Spirit is not really studied and understood according to God's Word.

He is God, He was, is and will always be involved in everything The Father and Son do. He was active with the Father and Son in the creation of this world and universe, He inspired the writers of the Bible, He was with Christ here on earth and filled His life with power, He convicts us of sin and righteousness, renews and transforms us into the image of Christ if we let Him, He sanctifies us as we grow in Christ, He gives us spiritual gifts, intercedes on our behalf and in harmony with the Bible leads us into all truth etc.

Jesus said, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” (Luke 11:13). We have to ask for the Holy Spirit and when we ask earnestly, He will awaken us from spiritual death and we will want or desire change and of course lead us to Jesus Christ our Saviour.

Something trinitarians always leave out of the discussion:

“But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

- John 16:5-15

This is not speaking of your average Sunday morning church service.

Also compare to this:

"For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”
- John 12:49-50

Also it says that the spirit will not speak on it's own authority, so if it is the holy spirit then according to Trinitarians the holy spirit cannot be God. Who's authority is God going to speak on if God is the holy spirit?

Also, the holy spirit is already meant to be there isn't it?

The holy spirit went into both Elizabeth and John The Baptist before Mary and Jesus.

But the angel said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John.
He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth,
for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born.
He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God."

- Luke 1:13-16

"When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit."
- Luke 1:41

So clearly the Holy Spirit is something already present, before Jesus' birth even, so it cannot be what is referred to as he who will "convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin"

Amen and something you said really resonated with me. Some contend that speaking in togues is an evidence that you have the holy spirit and the buck stops there. I remember in the season I was closest to the lord all I ever thought and cared about was seeing people get saved and come to Christ. That is a season when I was literally in Gods word everyday for hours, I was spending all day with him in isolation and unemployment, i was fasting. I could feel Gods love and earnest burning desire in my heart for others to come to him and I know that came from the holy spirit. I know Charismatics will say that speaking in tongues is evidence you have the holy spirit, but what if we can speak in tongues but are completely indifferent to people getting saved and coming to Christ. Its like Paul says speaking in tongues is vain if Gods love though the holy spirit is not evident or burdening one to see others saved. I would even say a holy life is evidence of having the holy spirit, but then again thats hard to measure cause you can take an elderly person who doesnt watch tv or know how to play a game and witness him get saved, but if his life wasnt that carnal to begin with then it would be hard to guage how much God has changed him. If i see him handing out tracts or reaching out to the lost then that is the biggest indication that Gods love and the holy spirit is at work in him. His mind is oepened to the absolute and eternal need there is to come to Christ and for others to have their name marked down in the book of life!

Paul wrote about the fruit of the Spirit, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law" (Galatians 5:22-23). These are the virtues of Jesus Christ. We become Christ like and this is only possible through the power of the Holy Spirit. This is evidence of the Holy Spirit. When we have we these virtues we will not be speaking unintelligible things and acting as though we are demon possessed. We will be preaching the gospel in a language that can be understood by those around us and we are always in control. God is not a God of confusion.

I pray that our brothers and sisters in churches that speak in "tongues" get to find the truth of the Holy Spirit according to the Word of God and that we receive and be filled with the Holy Spirit daily in our lives in Jesus' name, Amen.

[32] And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”
Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand? And if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your people drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if it is by the Spirit of God that I drive out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

But It can be Mohammad ? "The helper"

John knew things before the disciples did. The holy spirit was sent to him. Remember the spirit goes where it will. In Joel it talks of an outpouring of the spirit. Which means God is pouring more of it out " on the whole world" . God can allow his spirit to go whenever and whereever he wants. Clearly he chose according to the Bible( as you so vehemently deny ) to release the spirit in increments upon select groups and people til eventually the world at large. Come on try to keep up.

How does one convict the whole world ? Do you really think it's supposed to throw everyone in jail or chsrge them with crimes in the natural?

To be convicted by the spirit is awakened to your wrong doing. How can you not see that. It's so crazy how guys like you interpret scripture in this really weird fleshly/worldly way my mind boggles

Something that I have come to learn in my journey with Christ is that sometimes its not always easy to know the purpose of a trial in life that has been ordained by God. We may think that we are failing when in actuality God is trying to prune us of pride and confidence in our own flesh. Sometimes he just wants to show us atititudes deep within ourselves that we werent even aware were there. We may think we are failing Gods testing when in actuality repeated failure toward something was part of his plan.

I was reading through the book of mark today and my attention was starting to drift off. Even though, I wasn’t paying attention to what I was reading, there was an energy present. It was like there was a sound that was getting louder the way a car gets louder as it gets closer to you.

then, my attention clicked back to what I was reading just as I was getting to mark 7:34 where it says “be opened.” Then the sound that was getting louder before this broke kind of like the way thunder breaks and there was a sense that my ears had popped like they do when you travel up a mountain.

this phrase is something I needed to pay attention to because it did something to me when I was reading it. Something is different now somehow. Somehow, it is like I were deaf and now I can hear.

this a story about healing the deaf, so that might have something to do with that comparison. Still it is its own experience for me today that has nothing to do with this.
