I do wonder if she is friends with Epstein too if she is endorsing Bloomberg.

Are you upset trump has not released his full health records Lisa? That he, in fact, has released less than any of the democrats have??
He’s not the one that has had a heart attack. I think Bernie needs to be up front about his health because of it..do people want to elect someone who might die in office..and in that case...maybe they should be looking at his running mate instead?

I’m not saying that anyone needs to give away anything. What I am saying is that if sanders wants to be known as one of us..meaning working class Americans..he should give away his millions and cut his salary down to us poorer people he’s supposedly talking to and identifying with. If he means what he says about people being equal anyway. You can’t have more than the rest if you’re gonna preach equality is how I see it.

I think he’s trying to win an office with an us vs them mentality...why get upset that some people have more wealth than you? Why get people thinking that if the rich..not millionaires..but the billionaires get taxed more heavily that that’s somehow gonna make us all equal? What is the point of that? Who will be the job creators then..the people crying about equality..wanting their equal share when they didn’t do anything to create jobs in the first place? My husband owns a business and I see the hardship of that side of things and I’ve also worked in my life..so I also see how a person wants to make more..its not an easy fix and to say some should make less so others can make more is foolishness. It’s not going to work like that.

Wasn’t Bernie talking about some sort of violence earlier in the campaign..I think Thunderian started a thread about it. And he doesn’t think Cuba’s violent overthrow that bad..its better than we think over there is his thing. I even posted a video about what he thinks about it all in this thread yesterday.

Sure..its always someone coming in and doing all they can for their policies. When trump’s gone..the will to get things done will likely be gone too...there aren’t any republicans to replace him unless his sons run..so that means that it will be politics as usual and democrats can get back into changing things like Obama tried doing. And I think the presidential candidates underestimate or oversell to win how hard it is to get their campaign promises done when they get elected especially if they don’t win both the house and the senate. And even that is no guarantee if you’re a republican candidate like George W who had both and still couldn’t get anything accomplished...
You talk about politics the way I picture women talk about politics while they are getting their hair done and reading Better Home and Gardens simultaneously. There is just very little substance to what you are saying that can be used to create a political discussion. If you would rather talk about recipes we can.

In addition to this, you are confusing many things. The thread Thunderian posted was about a Bernie supporter, not Bernie himself. Quite frankly, if we were to take a poll on who is more likely to become a dictator, I would say Trump is much more likely to become a dictator than a tiny little Sanders who looks like he likes to listen to classical music while reading nonfiction on the weekend.

I think Trump would be a much more likely candidate to try to find a way to justify changing presidential term limits than Sanders too. A second term with Trump sounds awful quite frankly. He is a lot of talk and not much action. I was curious if there would be an economic effect while he was in office, but I would say nothing has really improved or changed since he has been in office. He is an egotistical dud as a president.

Although, like I said before, we still have presidential term limits that protect us from revolutionary overthrow. So it is more likely that neither one will be able to accomplish a move like Castro in our lifetime independent of some sort of secondary device. It won't happen by sheer persuasion to a cause. The country would have to be crippled in some way by another source. This is another reason why I would think Trump is a greater threat to freedom. He is much more likely to be connected to secondary devices than Sanders. Even if people become fanatical over Sanders, their reach is limited in social media and face masks. They just don't have access to the same military arsenal that would be required to overthrow a country like America. We are nowhere near as vulnerable as a little country like Cuba was under Castro.

And your whole comment on your perspective towards the economy doesn't seem to demonstrate any understanding of the importance of competition. Like I said, taxes are a poor way to generate competition within our economy. However, our economy is struggling because our market is monopolized by a few companies and Trump has done absolutely nothing to help with this. We need competition and some degree of wealth distribution that is created by this, to be able to continue creating jobs in our country.

His health records are another pointless comment to make about a presidential candidate in the year 2020. Why should a presidential candidate be the only one required to divulge healthcare information when the entire country is protected by HIPAA? It is completely irrelevant that Sanders doesn't want to share more of his private medical records.

How would you know what he has or has not experienced health wise when he’s released zero records Lisa?

I am a woman and that’s how I view things...I don’t think that makes my opinion less important.

Ah, ok..I thought that was Bernie himself that said it.

You think Bernie can’t be a dictator because you think he likes to listen to classical music and reading non fiction? I wonder what music hitler was into? Lol! You do know sin affects us all?

Idk, trump ran on make America great again..and Bernie is running on making everyone equal..seems to me trump is trying to make things better and Bernie is just trying to pit people against each other, so I don’t see how Bernie is the better candidate for America.

I wonder how Venezuelan’s were conned into turning their country over to socialists? I think if you get enough people on the socialist train..you can convert a country.

I don’t think wealth distribution is the way to go..we aren’t Robin Hood are we? I wouldn’t like someone coming to my house and taking half my things to give to the poor because someone thought I was too wealthy and we needed to be equal because of it. And how does that create jobs then? Is the person given half my things going to say, ya, now I‘ll create a business and pay workers equal to my salary so we can all still be equal?

I don’t think a heart attack is a pointless talking point. He isn’t all that healthy if he’s had one. So, I do think that its important that if people are gonna vote Bernie..they’d better be looking at his running mate because he/she might be the pres instead one day.

This sounds like a bunch of gossip. Again, it doesn’t sound like you anything about the positions of sanders or trump for that matter.

what you are describing is nowhere near how increasing taxes works either. Venezuela had a much different foundation before they adopted socialism. when there is leadership instability or vulnerability, there is the potential for all sorts of things.

a simple example of this would be a monarchy for comparison. If all it takes to change a system of government is to remove the monarch and replace it with something else, then that is not something that is impossible to do.

there are many countries that have no real system of government to speak of. They are also vulnerable to things like this.

however, in our case, we have three branches of government that create a system of checks and balances. There is clearly corruption in the branches, but this system has withstood many years of corruption. Whereas, countries under monarchies and with no process of government would not have the same ability to withstand the same degree of corruption.

Therefore, we can make arguments opposing socialism in theory, but the actual process that would be required to convert our country to a system like this would be something without comparison.

If you paid any attention at all you’d realize he wants the country to revert back to the policies it had post ww2 when we built the middle class by taxing the ultra wealthy more. This ended with Reagan. He also wants to ADD some additional social programs to benefit ALL Americans that every other civilized country on earth already has.

He is campaigning on making things fairer. Not making everyone have equal bank accounts. You know this though Lisa, so stop playing stupid.

Go earn 100 billion dollars. But pay your workers a living wage and treat them well while you do. Otherwise pay more in taxes so that the government and tax payers don’t have to subsidize your substandard wages. That’s corporate welfare. That’s his main issue.

Seriously go read something.

Wouldn’t equal bank accounts be fair? If we are talking fair?

And no Lisa. That wouldn’t be fair. And absolutely no one is arguing that should happen. Clearly someone who does a job that requires a specialized skill should be earning more than someone who’s job does not. However, EVERYONE deserves to be paid enough to live. EVERYONE deserves to be able to get their medical needs taken care of. EVERYONE deserves to be able to retire modestly after a life time of working and contributing to this country and its economy.

Your husband owns a business? Yes, he should make more than his employees - he is taking on all the risk and putting out the capital to keep the business running and provide the work. Should he be making 1,000 times what his employees make? No. He wouldn’t have any money (maybe just a fraction of it if it’s the kind of work he could do alone) if he didn’t have those employees helping to make his business successful. If a job needs to be done, if it’s worth doing, then the person doing it deserves to be able to live a bare minimum standard of living without government assistance.

That is all sanders the “socialist” or any of the people on the left are sayin.

No one would even be calling for higher taxes on a small percentage of the population if the people who occupy that tier recognized these things and did them voluntarily.

I guess that’s really the question isn’t it? Do people deserve anything? Do you deserve to be paid enough to live, or do you move yourself up the ladder to be paid enough to live? Do people deserve to get their medical needs be taken care of...and who’s supposed to take care of your medical needs, me? Do the dr‘s deserve to get paid for their expertise? If you squander your earnings..do you deserve to retire comfortably? We also need to look at a person’s culpability in their finances.

Not every company can afford to pay people a living wage, that’s why people look for companies that can. McDonald’s isn’t a company that was about paying a living wage but a company to give you work skills on your way up. Now, people expect to stay there and live comfortably...which puts all at risk of not having a job or getting less hours..therefore making it harder to find people to hire.

Socialism doesn’t work because of the incentive issue. Why work harder if you aren’t going to make more than someone that doesn’t because we have to be fair. We can only move up equally. Incentive is good for people.

Why would anyone who made a billion dollars..worked hard all their life to get there..want to pay more taxes to go to other people who didn’t work as hard for whatever reasons? That’s an incentive killer. I think billionaires/millionaires are incentive for people to see that people can attain more..that’s hope.
