As someone who comes from a country that has had civil war and seen the devastation caused by it, this is a subject I've always thought about.

Many Christians know that the very first war ever fought took place in the most unlikeliest place, heaven.

The Bible tells us, “War broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation 12:7-9).

How did this war begin and what was it over?

The prophet Ezekiel gives us insight into this first war and Satan’s rebellion against God.

“You were created” (Ezekiel 28:15).

“You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. … Every precious stone was your covering. … The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. … You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you” (Ezekiel 28:12, 13, 15).

“You were the anointed cherub who covers … you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones” (Ezekiel 28:14).

Lucifer was created by God, as were all the other angels (Ephesians 3:9). Lucifer was a “covering” cherub, or angel. One covering angel stands on the left side of God’s throne and another on the right (Psalm 99:1). Lucifer was one of these highly exalted angels and was a leader. Lucifer’s beauty was flawless and breathtaking. His wisdom was perfect. His brightness was awe-inspiring. Ezekiel 28:13 seems to indicate that he was specially created to be an outstanding musician. Some scholars believe he led the angelic choir.

What happened in Lucifer's life that led him to sin? What sin did he commit?

“Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor”
(Ezekiel 28:17).

“You have said in your heart: … ‘I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; … I will be like the Most High’ ” (Isaiah 14:13-14).

Pride, jealousy, and discontent arose in Lucifer’s heart. He soon began to desire to unseat God and to demand that everyone worship him instead.

So war broke out as a consequence of Lucifer’s sin. He deceived a third of the angels (Revelation 12:3-4) and caused a rebellion in heaven. God had no choice but to cast out Lucifer and the other fallen angels, because Lucifer’s aim was to usurp God’s throne even if it meant murder (John 8:44). After his expulsion from heaven, Lucifer was called Satan, meaning “adversary,” and the devil, meaning “slanderer.” The angels who followed Satan were called demons.

When Satan was expelled out of heaven with his demons, he was expelled to the earth (Job 2:2, 1 Peter 5:8). Satan’s headquarters is the earth.

God gave Adam and Eve dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:26). When they sinned, they lost this dominion to Satan (Romans 6:16), who then became ruler, or prince, of the earth (John 12:31). Satan despises humans, who were created in God’s image. Since he can’t harm God directly, he directs his anger against God’s children on the earth. He’s a hateful murderer whose aim is to destroy you and me and, thus, hurt God.

“Satan delights in war; for it excites the worst passions of the soul, and then sweeps into eternity its victims steeped in vice and blood. It is his object to incite the nations to war against one another; for he can thus divert the minds of the people from the work of preparation to stand in the day of God.” – GC, p. 589.

Israel's Theocracy.

It is true that ancient Israel fought wars – even wars of conquest. Often they themselves were the aggressors. The Bible reports deeds of great heroism and bravery. Therefore, many say, war must be justified. But is this really true?

We understand clearly that Israel of old was a “theocracy” (from the Greek theos, meaning God, and kratein, meaning to rule). It signifies that God was their superior Ruler, not man. You may ask, How did God rule them? From Scripture and testimony references we understand that His commands were communicated through the two precious stones called the “Urim and the Thummim” fastened in the breastplate of the high priest (Exodus 28:30, Numbers 27:21, 1 Samuel 28:6).

When an inquiry was presented to God in prayer, His reply came either from a halo of light encircling the right stone, meaning Yes or approval, or a cloud shadowing the left stone, meaning No or disapproval. Besides this, the Lord at times appeared in the holy shekinah, a cloud enveloping a bright light and appearing in the most holy place (Leviticus 9:23-24; Exodus 40:34-35; 2 Chronicles 5:13-14), to make known His will. Furthermore, He spoke through His servants the prophets.

No nation on earth today can boast of such visible signs indicating God’s will or whether or not they should engage in war. Besides, Christ said: “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, ...” (Matthew 5:43-44).

Christ obviously overthrew the old war policy completely. And why? Simply because in the New Covenant literal Israel would no longer be a chosen nation. God's people would be scattered among all nations. Now God's people from among all nations would be chosen to carry the gospel to the remotest parts of the earth. Theocracy was ended forever. Let no one therefore refer to ancient Israel and excuse modern warfare on that basis.

Food for thought-
When they came to arrest Jesus in Gethsemane-
"Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)" (John 18:10)
"When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, 'Lord, should we strike with our swords?' And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear. But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him." (Luke 22:49-51)

Below: Peter in action-

From the above account we can conclude that weapons are not evil in themselves, otherwise Jesus wouldn't have allowed his followers to carry swords.
Incidentally, why did he allow them to carry them in the first place?

The war which started in heaven between Jesus Christ and Satan is still going on right now. The Bible says there is a war going on.

Revelation 12:7-9, "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."

Revelation 12:12, "Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time."

The war ended in heaven but is still going on here one earth. Its still a war between Christ and His angels and Satan and his angels and we as human beings are in the middle of this battle.

Its a spiritual war where Christ wants to be ruler of our minds and lead us to eternal life and Satan wants to rule our minds to lead us to eternal death.

We have to make a choice as to who we want to be our king. Who we obey and submit to. God or Satan. There is only two options. There is no middle ground.

Ephesians 6:12-17, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

Christian attitude to war.

Jesus predicted there would be wars and rumours of war, especially in the end time. What is the Christian’s attitude toward these wars? It is clearly evident that Satan, the murderer from the beginning, is the instigator of all of them.

The Almighty placed a sharp restriction on warfare when He said, “Thou shalt not kill.” Nowhere do we find any indication that this applies only to private or civilian life. When Peter drew his sword in apparent self-defense, Jesus said: “Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword” (Matthew 26:52). And John the Baptist told the soldiers, “Do violence to no man, which meant the same as “Do not kill,” because killing and violence are virtually synonymous and differ only in degree.

How, then, can any Christian, with Christ’s love in his heart, be a soldier fighting, killing, and dying for an earthly fatherland? It would be the greatest inconsistency, to say the least, if not a terrible wrong. In God’s sight, it is transgression of His holy law. How can Christians, regarding their fellow men as being of the same brotherhood, lie in trenches and foxholes in opposing army camps, firing at and killing each other?

"The target marker flares looked quite pretty floating slowly down in the night sky" said my late mother about the time the Luftwaffe bombed her home city of Leicester in 1940 when she was 18-

She and her family survived but others didn't in that and other subsequent air raids across Britain.
The vast majority of the Brit people were therefore glad to do D-Day to settle Hitler's hash, and if they didn't, history might well have taken a different turn, for example would God have wanted this 'alternate reality' to come about?-

We now know that the powers that be (satanists) plan/planned revolutions and wars including world war 1 and 2 before they ever happened. They also plan/planned what the benefits (to them) and outcomes of these wars were/are going to be.

The young men who fought/fight for their countries and the civilians never really knew/know what the wars are about and who the enemy really is.

The blood shed of millions of those who fought/fight for their countries and civilians (for the last three centuries at least) from around the world is not something that bothers them. They think the consequences of war were/are necessary for their plans to come to fruition which is to ultimately have complete control of the world.

England was never going to be occupied per their plans.

The outcome of world war 2 was planned way before it ever happened.

Sadly these are not conspiracy theories. Its the truth. They planned it all. Its hard to swallow that any human beings could plan such horrible things but they did. The world is more evil than we can ever imagine.

The operational history of The Order can only be understood within a framework of the Hegelian dialectic process. Quite simply this is the notion that conflict creates history.

From this axiom it follows that controlled conflict can create a predetermined history. For example: When the Trilateral Commission discusses "managed conflict", as it does extensively in its literature, the Commission implies the managed use of conflict for long run predetermined ends - not for the mere random exercise of manipulative control to solve a problem.

The dialectic takes this Trilateral "managed conflict" process one step further. In Hegelian terms, an existing force (the thesis) generates a counterforce (the antithesis). Conflict between the two forces results in the forming of a synthesis. Then the process starts all over again: Thesis is. antithesis results in synthesis.

The synthesis sought by the Establishment is called the New World Order. Without controlled conflict this New World Order will not come about. Random individual actions of persons in society would not lead m this synthesis, it's artificial, therefore it has to be created. And this is being done with the calculated, managed, use of conflict. And all the while this synthesis is being sought, there is no profit in playing the involved parties against one another. This explains why the International bankers backed the Nazis, the Soviet Union, North Korea, North Vietnam, ad nauseum, against the United States. The "conflict" built profits while pushing the world ever closer to One World Government. The process continues today."

THE CREATION OF WAR AND REVOLUTION
This manipulation of "left" and "right" on the domestic front is duplicated in the international field where "left" and "right" political structures are artificially constructed and collapsed in the drive for a one-world synthesis.

College textbooks present war and revolution as more or less accidental results of conflicting forces. The decay of political negotiation into physical conflict comes about, according to these books, after valiant efforts to avoid war. Unfortunately, this is nonsense. War is always a deliberate creative act by individuals.

Western textbooks also have gigantic gaps. For example, after World War II the Tribunals set up to investigate Nazi war criminals were careful to censor any materials recording Western assistance to Hitler. By the same token, Western textbooks on Soviet economic development omit any description of the economic and financial aid given to the 1917 Revolution and subsequent economic development by Western firms and banks.

Revolution is always recorded as a spontaneous event by the politically or economically deprived against an autocratic state. Never in Western textbooks will you find the evidence that revolutions need finance and the source of the finance in many cases traces back to Wall Street.

Consequently it can be argued that our Western history is every bit as distorted, censored, and largely useless as that of Hitler's Germany or the Soviet Union or Communist China. No Western foundation will award grants to investigate such topics, few Western academics can "survive" by researching such theses and certainly no major publisher will easily accept manuscripts reflecting such arguments.

Should Christians serve in the military?

In 2016 a movie called Hacksaw Ridge was released. It was a biographical film about a man named Desmond Ross who served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a Seventh-day Adventist Christian and a conscientious objector who refused to carry or use a weapon or firearm of any kind. He received many awards for his service, including the Congressional Medal of Honour. Doss believed in saving lives, rather than taking them.

Personally I believe Christians should not join the military and take part in wars that they have no idea what they are about. The media do give us reasons but they are never the real reasons for why a war was started in most cases. We should not be put in a position where we take another person's life over something we don't know anything about. I do believe in helping in a non combatant role though.

However I also believe that God created us all with freedom of choice and if a Christians is convicted to join the military and fight for their country, that is between them and God. They have followed their consciences. I would not stand in the way of anyone who feels that they should fight and protect their country with a clear conscience. No Christian can and should dictate what a person should and shouldn't do. All we can do is pray for them and ask God to guide them and us all into His truth on this subject. The Holy Spirit can bring out whatever truth we need at the time and show us the truth of God on any subject.

War Against the Remnant.

"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ"
(Revelation 12:17).

At the end time, Satan will make an all out war with the Remnant. He is angry with them and wages war against them. The dragon is the devil, "That great dragon was cast out, that old serpent called the devil and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world" (Revelation 12:9). The woman symbolically represents God's people, "I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman" (Jeremiah 6:2).

The word “remnant”, describes those who remain faithful to God at the end while the majority apostatize. The remnant are/will be faithful to God's original truth despite apostasy and opposition. All throughout history since creation, God has always had a remnant of people who are faithful and fully surrender to Him. It's in the Bible, "Except the Lord of hosts had left us a very small remnant, we should have been like as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah" (Isaiah 1:9). Among people professing religious faith, the remnant is a relatively small minority. "Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved" (Romans 9:27). So while the majority of people in the world side with Satan at the end of time, a group of people will remain faithful to Christ in the face of Satan’s full fury.

The end-time remnant will keep God’s commandments and “have the testimony of Jesus Christ" of course.

Satan's effort to destroy the people of God and to remove Bible principles from their lives continue even to the present time. First, he persecuted Christ through pagan Rome. Next he persecuted the church in the first centuries through pagan Rome. Then he brought the world into the church and persecuted the faithful followers of God through Papal Rome for 1260 years during the dark ages.

Finally, according to Bible prophecy, he will seek to destroy those at the end of time who by faith are obeying God. He ultimately "makes war with the remnant of her seed." "Here is the patience of the saints: Here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12). God is calling us out from the world, a people who will throw off the last vestiges of sin and corruption and return to a pure Bible religion.

The Battle Of Armageddon.

Revelation 16:12-16, "Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, so that the way of the kings from the east might be prepared. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.” And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon."

A great battle is coming, and it is called Armageddon. It will impact every person on the face of the earth. No one will escape. The world will be devided into two opposing forces. And both will come head-to-head in this showdown. It will be the greatest battle ever fought. The Great Controversy between Christ and Satan. The choices we make now will determine whether we belong to Christ or Satan....

What Does the Word “Armageddon” Mean?

The word "Armageddon" is made of two Hebrew words- "Har" and "Megido." The word "Har" means "mountain." "Armageddon" is the name for the “battle of that great day of God Almighty” between Christ and Satan in which all the nations of the world will be involved (Revelation 16:12-16, 19).

The “kings from the east” are God the Father and God the Son. “East” in the Bible symbolizes God’s heavenly kingdom (Revelation 7:2; Ezekiel 43:2; Matthew 24:27). In this final battle, almost the entire world will unite (Revelation 16:14) to fight against Jesus, the Lamb, and His people (Revelation 17:14; 19:19). Their aim will be to wipe out all who refuse to worship the beast (Revelation 13:15-17).

Satan is the god of this world and uses these organizations to establish his rule on the Earth.

2 Corinthians 4:4, "whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them."

Satan's offer to Jesus to give him the kingdoms of this world shows us that Satan thinks this world is his because sadly most of the world is wrapped up in sin that he brought in through Adam and Eve.

Luke 4:5-8, "Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” And Jesus answered and said to him, Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

Satan works with and has help from his demons and human agents such as the secret societies in this meme in his kingdom.

Ephesians 6:12, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Psalm 2:1-3, "Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.”
