Second, if freedom is mere "free speech" for you then I guess I am afraid I am banging my head on a wall here. No offence. =p
Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that free speech is bad or it should be outlawed, no.
I'll explain what I mean. But first let's get this out of picture that, one can say bad things about these leaders in the west because first of all, most of these ain't no leaders with whole sole power. Are mere puppets and a puppet already knows his/her place. They don't care what the people say about them or do against them, only most important objective for them is that the puppet master shouldn't get disappointed.
Now, back to explanation. In my personal opinion a human being shouldn't be reluctant to see the bigger picture as well of human life.
Your pretext of free speech is akin to be freely able "get some heat off of our chest". Because, it is merely that. It won't do nothing in practicality. Eventually, what you will require to do, to attain something practically, will be via nonviolent and non-cooperation et. al. types mass movements to really achieve something from your respective nation's regime, or to replace the regime / topman altogether.
For example, M.K.Gandhi, one man alone, didn't got the arrogant saxe-coburg outta Indian subcontinent just by using free-speech and cussing, i.e. getting heat off chest. Whereas, he obviously did not cared using anything/any words bad for anyone but merely via nonviolent non-cooperation et.al. movements en-masse, he was able to achieve what he practically wanted to achieve.
What I have seen is that, say if one being is angry and say even if almost 70% populace of an entire nation gets annoyed and violent it would still 'achieve' nothing. And even if it did achieved anything like a coup, etc. then it would have brought it with intense suffering and deaths and further still because of the seed of 'anger' a nation most certainly will fall into a civil war and suddenly all those people who were looking like the were all together in over throwing the regime will be at each other's throats now.
And now corruption -
Corruption, unfortunately is rampant everywhere. Where isn't? Albeit, one can request the regime to open up hotlines and escalation routes to report and hence tackle corruption. I know it is not a hundred percent efficient solution but still should the apex most person is willing to assist his/her citizens genuinely then they won't veto such type of practical solutions.
But you know my take on corruption? My take is that till the time there will be religions, people will merely believe and not Know (that the life is a dream, got nothing alongwith, can take nothing along from here either upon conclusion). Hence, without knowing the self, there is no awakening. And without awakening, there's sleeping. And with sleeping comes the false pretence that life is only real (no dream). Hence, the hoarding follows. Its all so subtly connected.
On fear--- fear is the opposite to love. Love is literally first inside all living beings. If this love is not recognised, fear won't disperse. Inherently, it will stay, as is. Consider for one, an all alone human being on the entire planet. That human being will be overflowing with fear, not until that human being feels in an experience and realises that he/she is not mere this body that he/she is seeing but so much more!!
On vandalism-- Again, no real practical solution. But to merely get a little heat off the chest! Ofcourse anybody can do and should they feel like then they may, afterall free will bestowed by The Creator to ALL, but personally I won't recommend. Its sorta pointless.

Is it probably because of the fact that the puppet doesn't wants his/her people to know that he/she is a puppet? And because he/she did not and currently does not wants to upset the puppet master as well?

See, I am talking of current Russia. We cannot go in the past do anything to modify the events. We can talk about past only to observe it. Now, as we talk about current Russian Federation war. From all of those who are against the Russian Special Military Operation in Ukraine, how many of those human beings unequivocally know of the past 9+years of predicament of the Eastern Ukraine populace? The western media kept absolutely hush hush about the continuous shelling upon the Eastern Ukraine human beings since February 2014, can you imagine? Now, when Russia had it enough and went on to mend it, get it correct, we have people turning up against this move (also inside Russia). I ask again, how many of these are aware of the shelling on East Ukraine since Feb2014? And also, are we so confident on the west that, the west never uses spies propoganda and false flags/staging? Those people against war, in Russia, maybe just maybe are stooges of the West? Maybe they aren't, maybe they are? Or maybe those are mixed, i.e. half of them know nothing of the past 9+years shelling on East Ukraine and half the stooges? You see the possibility of permutations and combinations here? In this case, a sane man should abandon what he had decided to do and let the human beings (in this case, East Ukrainian) suffer more rightly, yes?
What if I say that the topmost elite i.e. the jesuits, bloodlines et. al. perform baal worship and sacrifice to molech? And hence they like all the blood and war, people and children being killed from Palestine, Afganistan, Iraq, East Ukraine, et. al. all the time manifesting darkness, blood and death on the planet? Its (supposedly) their worship and performance to their deity afterall, no?
But you didn't answer the question, that the current regime isn't purging it's population?
You thinking that Russian population is already in the know that their fate is definitely in the oblivion then I guess those human beings (collectively) mustav have been much much more fearful than you. But here, it is the opposite I see.
If socialism is really so so so bad, then why is the west (which we have first hand experience that isn't good at all) always demonising it(socialism) and finding ways to obliterate it from the planet?
