i wasnt thinking about it directly, but it was due to happen for several reasons. the kim dynasty could not possibly maintain the stability of the DPRK for much longer.

Analysis A Successful Trump-Kim Summit Could Be the Prelude to War With Iran

In Singapore, the Trump administration hopes to ‘clear the table’ of the North Korean distraction before dealing with what it sees as the real threat: Iran. And the hawks in Washington have already made clear that diplomacy is not an option with Tehran

This is a mixed bag to be honest. You have Kim touring the hot spots of Singapore prior to the meeting with him and his entourage looking pretty happy. This is a story to cover things happening in the background via this big news that will distract MSM. I wonder if this deal gives Kim his freedom?

In Canada, Rosenstein was doing a speech some high level invitees including Lady Rothschild. Same day.

Near Halifax military base in Canada there was a secret meeting on a train. Involved high level politicians and corporate leaders wearing Voting Delegation badges. Trudeau was there. This was prior to G7.

In regards to Iran, EU is imposing sanctions again(someone's scared of what Iran knows) but obviously the nuclear story is a cover. Trump is in focus but it's not really about him.

This happened awhile ago, back in November? It’s just for show now. The CIA controlled Kim and now it’s done. How this isn’t being celebrated more is beyond me.

It would be hard to imagine KJU stepping away from power. But then again, every kingdom has its day...... I hope hes at least negotiating for the best possible outcome for the N. Koreans, whatever his personal end-game may be.......

Now supposedly, and I have no opinion on this, Trump backing out the Iran deal prevented a false flag that would have implicated Russia. In my opinion it lies the in the realm of rumor but something to think on.

Trump withdrawing messes up EU cash flow and imposing sanctions can remedy that.

Hmmmm, so you think Trumps tariffs are a move calculated to cajole European partners in the Iran deal to go along or possibly another ulterior motive? It would stand to reason that regardless of if the Iran deal was "good" or "bad", there would have been payoffs either way. Especially with a Shill/Kill/Billary run state department.

That's where I don't enough things have come to fruition yet. It would be beyond speculative of me but an Iran deal, plus the lies of a nuclear threat, are still being done in the dark. They just don't involve Trump as far as I know.

I think its beyond telling that the Democrats and supposed "lefty" wings of the MSM and their followers are howling with an unbridled fury at the possibility of de-escalation and - gasp - peace on the Korean peninsula.... simply because its Trump making the overtures.... what do these supposed "progressives" really want? They are playing dangerous political games and fomenting war because..... Hillary was too much of a failure to best a reality show host and failed business man during the last presidential election?

They are really worked up it seems over a quote where Trump has vowed to stop the joint US/S. Korean millitary training operations and has publicly branded them as "provocative".....

If this was Obama they would be cheering for another Nobel Peace Prize...... oh wait, thats right..... Obama turned down multiple peace negotiation efforts from the N. Koreans......

I'm old enough to remember when everyone thought Trump was going to start a war with North Korea.

Trump and Kim have made an agreement that both nations will work to establish good relations and peace between their two countries. They will work together to unify North and South Korea. North Korea will denuclearize.

This is more than Obama has accomplished for peace in his entire life, and didn't he win a Nobel peace prize or something? By that scale, they should now name the prize itself after Trump.

Who would have believed this possible just a month ago? Does anyone believe that Trump and Kim aren't serious about making this happen?

Make what you will of Thomas Wictor, but this is interesting, I thought.

Thread Reader(1) Let's talk about what all the pundits and "experts" missed.
Kim Jong-un depended on Trump to guide him through the summit.
Trump gently made all the first moves.
(2) By all accounts, Kim Jong-un is a passive young man.
His late brother Kim Jong-nam said that Kim was not leadership material.
(3) TWO brothers were passed over to make Kim Jong-un the leader.
When you have a man who never wanted the job but was forced into it, he must be treated with empathy.
Trump did so.
(4) North Korea is called the Hermit Kingdom.
I'm a hermit.
Later today I have to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles.
I'll have to take a nap when I come home.
(5) When Kim Jong-un met with President Moon and now Trump, he was breathing very heavily.
He doesn't want any of this responsibility.
So Trump is HELPING him.
(6) When you're a shy hermit and you interact with Type A Alpha males with empathy, you know what they love?
They love to see you come out of your shell.
(7) Kim said something that made Trump's jaw drop, and then he laughed in a way that has never before been caught on camera.
(8) Trump is PROUD of Kim for doing this.
(9) Trump knows how hard this is for Kim.
But Kim did it anyway.
So that makes him a great man.
(10) Trump admires courage and the willingness to improve.
All the commentary is from surface skaters who either know nothing or were wedding to the failed 70-year strategy of FORCING North Korea into compliance.
(11) I don't view the North Koreans as children who need to be protected.
BUT.
"Face" and national honor mean the world to them.
(12) Kim and Trump are friends.
So far Kim has said at least ten times, "We've put the past behind us."
The "experts" missed that.
(13) My prediction is that North Korea will--without fanfare--denuclearize, make peace with the South, and then begin a multi-step reunification process.
And it will all happen very quickly.
(14) AGAIN, Trump is the flak catcher.
"He didn't get anything! He's a LOSER!"
Trump doesn't care, and neither should you.
(15) This takes the pressure off of Kim, both at home and abroad.
All is already well.
Trump's enemies will be forced to admit it in fairly short order...

If Trump pulls this off he will probably pound the stake in the heart of the American Left.
