You contradict your own bible in your zeal to use a scapegoat like all immoral cowards will.

Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The sonshall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquityof the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and thewickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Deuteronomy 24:16 (ESV) "Fathers shall not be put todeath because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because oftheir fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin.

We are all children of God to your vile religion.

Would you punish your innocent son and let your guilty one off the hook?

If you are not that vile of a person, what makes you think your God is?

John 8

38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

Not all gods are immoral but our mainstream ones are definitely that.

God’s law, should he/she/it ever show up, --- is supposed to become earth’s law, imposed by force, --- as need be, --- and the religious way, --- instead of sound moral arguments.

God is demonstrably not moral.

One of the more important commandments to us is that of not killing humans. God kills humans.

I assume that that law would be high on our commandment list; commands to a slave from a master. Yet God exempts himself from that good law and does this evil will and kills humans.

That commandment is a subjective position and as I can think of a few instances where killing a human would be the moral thing to do. That commandment is thus immoral.

I do not think it’s a good idea to give an obviously and demonstrably immoral Gods respect but many theists do.

The power to make human laws should never be given to our immoral gods. Especially Yahweh and Allah, who I think are the bottom of the barrel on morals.

Human law seeks to be moral and humane and should never be putrefied by the immoral Gods that mankind has create in our image.

To do so would be insane.

So tell me please, --- fellow religionist and believers, --- something I do not understand.

Why you and I call our gods, “God”, --- when he is such an immoral character, --- fictional or not?

Are we such immoral entities ourselves? I am immoral. Are you?

P.S. When you reply, I might have to do this to those who will not answer from the heart and try to use their holy book of mythqs and turn to preaching.

Remember also my fellow religionists and believers, all clergy of all faiths are liars. God himself told me this when he told me to think more demographically.

P.S. Your non-attempt to explain away the existence of Hell - when **genuine** Gnostics believed in it - was way more entertaining.

The philosophy behind religion holds onto the immaterial as real, ie thoughts/ideas...
it's only after, the idea of a universal intelligence/power as the ultimate cause of all things, is seen as the Supreme being, God.

God is basically an aggregate of pretty much the best version of this idea we can conceive of.
All-Merciful
All-powerful
All-intelligent etc
if you think 'it' is flawed/evil then how on earth can it be God? if it has any flaw and you can theoretically expose that flaw then it cannot be God.
However the problem is you posess limited awareness inc of good and evil so how determine whether or not God is evil?
Sure, we have a limited awareness, but it does not take a rocket scientist to know that genocide and the murder of innocent people, as God is shown to do in scriptures, including children and babies, is evil.

Right? Or do you see those murders as good?

Here is a truth for you since you willfully want to ignore your own moral scriptures.

Having another innocent person suffer for the wrongs youhave done, --- so that you might escape responsibility for having done them,--- is immoral. To abdicate personal responsibility or use a scapegoat isimmoral.

Do you agree?

Or will you let your cowardice continue to corrupt your moral sense?

Thanks for lying about my beliefs and ignoring the Christian belief that their genocidal son murdering prick of a God is somehow good.

You show your corrupted morals.

See ya, prick lover.

It's been made quite apparent here that each party has developed a belief system from their favourite book.

If it was in a book it was somebody else's idea that is now your belief.

Don't you people have an ideas of your own? It's just going to descend to another bible off...soooo boring

Tsk tsk. I do not see you as having faith in the WORD of GOD. Christians and Muslims will not like you, and I.

Good.

Only really big fools will have faith in a myth.

Good questions.

If God was real and we mattered to Him, how might he communicate with us? How would such understanding be passed on? If not in written form then what alternative means of transmitting meaning have we available from times gone by?

how is it any different if a natural disaster occurs and thousands are killed?
it's kind of funny that you call yourself 'gnostic' whilst you believe the material world is an illusion and not real.....and that we must overcome the flesh/attachment to the material world, yet you equate evil with anything that brings harm to the flesh.
From a spiritual perspective we are already dust in the earth..in the grand scheme of things we're not even a speck of dust.
YET the religion you believe in..and the one i believe in believe in a universal reality of the Self.

I see us as creating our universe from what we found when we first developed as a species.

Have you given your creator God a name?

Whose ideology do you follow?

Regards
DL
I don't give "it" any particular name, just "God". My ideology is pretty close to Gnosticism mixed with some Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism. I consider the Tao Te Ching as one of my most favorite religious/philosophy books.

You have been reading what the Christians said of our beliefs while ignoring what we wrote. You forget that Christians had to justify their Inquisitions somehow and lying was the best way for them to do so.

Read the following and tell me who seems to think that the world is cursed, according to what is written.

-----------

The Christian view.

1 John 2:15Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Gen 3; 17 Thou shalt not eat of it; cursed is the ground for thy sake; in toil shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.

-----------

Gnostic Christian Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. [And after they have reigned they will rest.]"

"If those who attract you say, 'See, the Kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you.

If they say to you, 'It is under the earth,' then the fish of the sea will precede you.

Rather, the Kingdom of God is inside of you, and it is outside of you.

[Those who] become acquainted with [themselves] will find it; [and when you] become acquainted with yourselves, [you will understand that] it is you who are the sons of the living Father.

But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."

As you can see from that quote, if we see God's kingdom all around us and inside of us, we cannot think that the world is anything but evolving perfection. Most just don't see it and live in poverty. Let me try to make you see the world the way I do.

Here is a mind exercise. Tell me what you see when you look around. The best that can possibly be or an ugly and imperfect world?

Candide.

"It is demonstrable that things cannot be otherwise than as they are; for as all things have been created for some end, they must necessarily be created for the best end.”

That means that we live in the best of all possible worlds, given all the conditions at hand and the history that got us here. That is an irrefutable statement given entropy and the anthropic principle.

The Eastern religions are rife with people who think, while the Western religions want brain dead sheeple.

The Eastern ideologies want to free our minds while the Western ones want to slave us to them.

Here is the latest Western religious lie.

I can swear that the Pope is a liar as I know for a fact that theosis or apotheosis is available to all.

Isn't it interesting that Gnostic Christian Jesus has a habit of saying the things we would rather hear?
Not surprising to me as Our Jesus offers information on what he knew. Not what the scribes wanted him to say, and you will note that the church never quotes the Gnostic Christian Jesus as he does not bring in as much cash and will not lie for it the way the churches do. He frees minds and does not want to slave us to lies.

You make such a foolish statement while ignoring all the screwing around with verses the church does to make it's immoral points that justify their homophobia and misogyny.

I would say yes.

Note that the church denies us that.

Here is the real way to salvation that Jesus taught.

Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Allan Watts explain those quotes in detail.

Joseph Campbell shows the same esoteric ecumenist idea in this link.

The bible just plainly says to put away the things of children. The supernatural.

I don't know what authorities are in charge of your nation @Futility

In the UK, our media isn't pushing out the message below that offended GCB:

1 John 2:15

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."

Tsk tsk. I do not see you as having faith in the WORD of GOD
...Got is an imaginary figure. If he wanted to make everyone on earth believe in him all he would need to do is prove his existence. A gowned hand coming from the clouds would suffice. I would then be convinced that he exists.

I'm so sick.of hearing how loving and perfect God is whilst living in a world that appears to be under the control of a bunch of psychopathic Satanists. Why has your God not prevented this from happening?

And as far as you have to "truly believe" in God before you're deemed a good person is just laughable.

I'm a good person, I know the difference between good and bad and right and wrong. I want to stop seeing innocent lives being snuffed out to line somebody's pockets or to further a political agenda.

If there is a God and he is "all seeing and all knowing" then he will know I'm a good person with good intentions.

The hypocrisy of religion really does make me run in the opposite direction.

I do know realise why a religious congregation is sometimes known as a flock.

Reciprocity is fair play.

All except for homophobia and misogyny of course.

Religious men would certainly drop their religions if the rules they put on women and gays were applied to the so called religious men.
