Probably more to do with Khasoggi then a concern over Yemenis. What’s your take?
I'm more of the opinion that it is a distraction for something else. I don't think the U.S.as it is would ever stop supporting Saudi Arabia. Over one man's death? Fuck no, that's not how this works. If this one death was enough to trigger the U.S. To do the right things we wouldn't be in the predicaments that we are in now. I think the U.S. Is just done with Yemen for the time being and simply entertaining the American public with candy coated bullshit.

Well you could be right that it’s just a good PR move right now. I will say Sanders was calling for this long before the Khasoggi incident, but I don’t place a ton of faith in politicians or electoral politics.

Whatever the case may be it may lead to some relief for the suffering of the people there, and that’s all that matters.

Never said the rest of the world wasn't done with Yemen, just the U.S.

I haven't been following this issue much. But it seems like politics as usual. I think the pushback from the Senate is real, however, I think they know it won't really go anywhere. Isn't that what a lame duck bill is? Like aside from the symbolism, what they are actually doing is just siphoning money or power away from one thing to another.

That sounds like socialism to me. Now I'm not trying to change the subject or anything. I think that there are serious conversations that the hyper-partisans need to have with themselves. Our politicians are socialists. They aren't working class capitalists trying to produce much of anything. You know? Unless you count creating debt as production, this is how it is.

Maybe I'm just ranting because I'm tired of the partisan B.S. Tired of these phony capitalists spewing talking points that mean nothing in a real argument. They wouldn't ever debate someone like me for real.

...and Drumph vetoed it.

http://www.thelastamericanvagabond.com/top-news/trump-vetoes-yemen-bill-that-sought-to-end-the-us-catastrophic-war-on-yemen/

"Americans need to understand that the US provides billions of dollars of arms to the Saudis who regularly carry out massive war crimes and human rights violations, as well as help them with every aspect of their efforts, including logistics, as many have framed it, “the US is the one with their finger on the map.” Members of Congress and human rights groups around the world have expressed concern about the hundreds of thousands of civilians that have been killed in US coalition airstrikes since the conflict began, as well as the 20 million people current on the brink of starvation. The US/Saudi invasion and illegal blockade on the Arab world’s poorest country also has left millions suffering from food and medical care shortages. This starvation, shortages and suffering is not a byproduct of their illegal actions, but rather the entire point.

And yes, Trump just vetoed a bill that sought to end US involvement with this atrocity, ensuring the suffering of the Yemeni people carries on."
