The video literally talks about the name light being an homage to Satan being the light bringer. Light is pretty much lucifer in the show if thats what we go with. But he loses at the end and like a little bitch anyway. And its not L who makes him lose either so the "el" thing doesn't work either.I think the point of this thread is more about showing how pervasive the occult concepts are in anime and manga whether they be as a part of a scene or the whole concept or theme of the content.Because, the more content produced on this topic, the more acceptable it becomes to the public.
At the end of the day,all these concepts are made more mainstream only to instill them more deeply in the public consciousness.
Deathnote and other shows, what they are essentially showing is the dark winning over light(literally with the names of characters) and showing the futility of struggle. So,kind of making people think that there is no use to try to make anything better because it is anyway destined to end in suffering.Nihilism,if you may.
Also,I'm sure many people get intrigued with these occult concepts after they watch these shows and try to find out more.Aren't they getting introduced to these concepts then?
Just like how harry potter glamourised witchcraft.
Ohh someone got hurt lol.Why are you on this website then? If you don't like it leave.
Most of the psychological thrillers with amazing themes were made prior to 2010. Eva and ghost in the shell went even further back in the 70-90s. So if they are using anime to spread this sort of "thoughts" to public, they are clearly doing a shit job considering the western remakes were absolute trash and did nothing more than making people hate them.At the end of the day,all these concepts are made more mainstream only to instill them more deeply in the public consciousness.
Tl;dr your point = Anime/Manga community isn't dying. This is an entertainment forum where most of the posts are about occultic symbolism, like the BTS discussion thread. If you are denying the power of symbols in a forum which completely revolves around this, even in anime and manga (which is not unpopular the subreddit for anime is at one million subscribed people), then you are completely out of touch with common issues and are deluding yourself into believing these societies and symbols do not mean anything, which couldn't be further from the truth. Moreover I am the one who started this post so of course I would naturally intervene in a post which is denying that there are some occultic symbols in anime and manga, you are talking as though anime and manga is a small unheard of cult-like following, total nonsense. I wouldn't have started this post if I believed no occult influences had existed. What's wrong with exploring media which we generally consume when we notice these symbols? To halt such ideas is to censor the truth and general human curiousity that one many have.
I would rather if you have nothing to contribute you simply read the post since you clearly have little idea with what you are talking about, especially since you said the anime and manga community is dying. The subreddit for both r/manga and r/anime have both hit a million views and anime is becoming more mainstream than ever, like with some rappers referencing such shows or yearly growing convention sizes. Netflix are now investing more than ever into creating anime and animation, the market is now worldwide thanks to platforms like funimation and it is now no longer shunned to be considered an anime fan.
So anime and manga effectively effects a lot of people. If that is the case then, like music affects a lot of people, then fans of the topic would undoubtedly come across symbols and signs in some shows which are generally either more cryptic in nature, or which are lighthearted but share the same symbols with signs seen in other entertainment industries, which would sometimes appear strange once since it has nothing to do with the story line in some cases, but seeing it over and over again it makes many questions the reasons for shows and manga repeatedly using the same symbols, signs and lore, which may be unrelated to japanese culture.
This thread is designed to uncover those mysteries and also explore the many hidden layers we may not see or understand in such shows and storywriting, and can also help to understand anime better which is hard to see from the surface (e.g. Neon Genesis Evangelion). All discussion is welcome related to the occult provided it stays on topic of 'anime and manga'
I edited my comment to put two posts as one instead of editing anything that was in it. Who is the one gaslighting? Here's a video which explains your point about 'dying' anime:
Classic anime is dying. Actual anime is not, it's getting more popular.
Also you are extremely rude at this point and not worth addressing. You are gaslighting me and making it seem like I am the one creating problems when you literally came to a thread you don't believe nor want to discuss:
"I'm not demeaning this thread and neither did i say that about your post until you came up with the most boring, most useless line of all as a reply to something that wasn't even addressing you. But dumb conspiracies make the real ones sound equally stupid."
I see why you edited your comment now.
The topic will remain as anime occult whether you choose to derail the discussion or not.
That's really not an uncommon feeling for creators in general. If you write organically, what you create tends to take on a life of it's own. Characters do things you might not expect, events happen you don't plan, etc.View attachment 22514View attachment 22515View attachment 22516
Reminds me when Bob Dylan says he didn't know how he got to write his songs, it was like it's magically written.
The "devil horns" is actually the sign language for "I love you".I'll give on example, look at Usagi from sailor moon doing this satanic pose everytime....

Devil horns she does in every 'magical girl' sequence.
The "I love you" hand signal used in sign language was created by Helen Keller. Keller was into Theosophy (founded by Satanist Blavatsky), the satanic group that Krishnamurti rejected, and it actually means "I love you Satan". It is just another form of the "Devil Horns" hand sign. It was popularized by Anton LaVey (founder of the Church of Satan) and passed on to the masses through rock musicians who were into Satanism. The crowds picked it up without knowing what it meant. The "devil horns" is actually the sign language for "I love you".

Horned hand or The Mano Cornuto, this gesture is the satanic salute, a sign of recognition between and allegiance of members of satanism or other unholy groups.
i watched it twice and still don't get it. i don't quite understand the part lain transcend and "become god" itself. and i see something like christian holy trinity and lain as jesus (???) the only thing i understand really well is the buzzing noise as the bgm and duvet.I didn't really post my anime symbolism since it would have taken time to type up, which I didn't have when I first responded...
But if you want symbolism to see symbolism in anime... Serial Experiments Lain has it in spades. A lot of Christian symbolism, a lot of NWO symbolism (connected to the antagonist group), and some stuff that over 20 years later, I still haven't heard a good explanation on...
It also has one of the single most explicit Christ allegories I've seen in any media, period, complete with the temptation in the desert.
It's something I recommend everyone watch. It's heavy, not something I would call "fun" but a brilliant piece of work that feels more important now than when it was made.
doesn't the eye of ra is egyptian god, but nowdays people know it as all seing eye fr33masonry. they claimed things and twisted it to fancy them. For one, it only would mean "I love you Satan" if you meant it to mean that. If you mean it to mean just "I love you" that's all it means. Just like if a baby sticks its middle finger up it isn't saying "eff you". Two, the sign of the horns does not have a universally evil meaning. In Italy, it's seen as a ward against evil - and its introduction into heavy metal came when Black Sabbath's second front man wanted a hand gesture that wasn't Ozzy's "peace sign" who specifically made the Italian connection.
The symbol is already there, the background and belief of the creator is already there. It is in the satanic bible. Whether u like it or not, whether u agree or not. It doesn’t change that fact. There's so much wrong with this.

Egyptian god is pagan and according to Christianity and other abrahamic religion, it is pagan. Pagan worship false gods.doesn't the eye of ra is egyptian god, but nowdays people know it as all seing eye fr33masonry. they claimed things and twisted it to fancy them.
Don’t bother with people’s opinions too much. Stick to what you believe about this topic. No matter what you believe there will always be people against you and that doesn’t mean you’re wrong.I updated my thread since a lot of people were upset but at the same time I wasn't clear on the topic, which I apologise. I thought a little longer about what I should do with this thread and which direction I should take it, and I came to a few conclusions and updated the thread. I am NOT asking those to stop watching anime or manga, I'm simply asking people to be aware of the religious symbols that exist and their possible origins, and why it was put into the manga in the first place.
Manga and anime has MANY themes. In this thread I want to explore the religious ones and the symbols we see a lot in our shows. You do not have to stop consuming the manga or anime, just we are here to make theories about it.
I started the thread with some random topics to get the ball rolling but it would be interesting if we turned to the direction of HOW these symbols effect the main characters' motivations and worlds as well, and their powers, and what philophies they have. Also learning about Japanese religions would be interesting...I heard once an interesting theory how the Japanese hiragana alphabet has a connection to hebrew for example.
Of course you can discuss the usual theories like the black butler one I did, but keep to the theme of religious and occultic influence in shounen and seinen manga, and also Japanese religion/culture and media itself. I think Tokyo Ghoul is a pretty good place to start, there was a truck load of stuff in that manga and many tumblrs with religious theories on that. . .but any manga/anime/media will do.
EDIT: Personally Fullmetal Alchemist for me had a lot of interesting religious symbols. Like I still don't get the whole gate of truth thing and the alchemy tree. That would be interesting to know about.
The way I interrupt it is a retelling of the Christ story for the Internet age, although it's not intended to be a perfect parallel since it also comments on how an interconnected world, through technology, can either be our salvation or damnation. Lain was always the God of the Wired, even when she was human. The man who claimed to be god was a false one - filling the rule of the devil - since he was a self-proclaimed Lord of the World who offered Lain the ability to rule beside him... She rejected it and in the end, because his plans were bad for humanity, sacrificed herself because of her love for them.i watched it twice and still don't get it. i don't quite understand the part lain transcend and "become god" itself. and i see something like christian holy trinity and lain as jesus (???) the only thing i understand really well is the buzzing noise as the bgm and duvet.
Pretty much. Various other symbols had different meanings and in constantly shifts depending on popular conception. The pentagram, for instance, was once on the shields of Christian soldiers to represent the five wounds of Christ. Later, in alchemy (which isn't magical, as much as it is science for an age of superstition) it represented the four classical elements along with aether or spirit. Fire, earth, water, and air are the building blocks of creation and spirit (God) as above all. The whole reason why an inverted pentagram is considered a Satanic symbol in the first place is it reverses that; putting earthly things above spirit.Doesn't the eye of ra is egyptian god, but nowdays people know it as all seing eye fr33masonry. they claimed things and twisted it to fancy them.
