Pope’s decision to change the Lord’s Prayer

The pope’s decision to approve the change from the traditional translation “Lead us not into temptation” to “Do not let us fall into temptation” was based on this reported rationale:

“I am the one who falls; it’s not him pushing me into temptation to then see how I have fallen,” Francis explained to Italian broadcasters about the phrase change. “A father doesn’t do that. A father helps you to get up immediately. It’s Satan who leads us into temptation. That’s his department.”

The Vatican has not released any statement regarding this nor has any catholic source so imo until there is confirmation or denial I’d regard this as fake news. Especially considering the original source of the story is the guardian which was then picked up by Fox News.

No reason to criticize the Pope, (and no I am not defending him at all either) until you research and fully understand what Jesus actually meant in his own language to his disciples. Simply trusting what your english translation says is not very good due diligence if you are going to start questioning someone else's persepective or views on a translation.

I believe what is already in the bible. God already made it that way for us to believe and pray for hundreds years. If it was wrong, He would change it long ago.
