UN marks International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

The plight of the Palestinian people remains the world’s longest unresolved refugee crisis and the people of Gaza, just in the last year, have come under the most intense bombardment of any civilian population since World War II.
Those were just two harrowing facts that the UN has highlighted to mark today’s commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.

At least 29 killed in Israeli attacks on Nuseirat refugee camp: Report

At least 29 people have been killed following a series of Israeli attacks on the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza since Thursday morning, the Shehab news agency reports.
As we’ve been reporting, Israeli fighter jets have carried out an intense bombing campaign in the Nuseirat area over the past day, targeting residential buildings and homes, as well as mosques and other public facilities.
One Israeli attack on Thursday struck a home sheltering displaced Palestinians, resulting in nine members from one family being killed. Israeli fighter jets also bombed a house in the camp belonging to the Dahdouh family on Friday, killing at least five people.
Our Al Jazeera Arabic colleagues have now reported that ambulance teams have recovered from the rubble the bodies of the Shraim family. The number of casualties has not been confirmed.

Paramedics ‘collecting bodies’ from streets of Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp
Reporting from Deir el-Balah, central Gaza

Starting in the early hours of this morning, we clearly heard the sound of heavy machineguns and drones buzzing overhead, encircling Deir el-Balah and Nuseirat refugee camp.
This provided cover for Israeli tanks and armoured vehicles as they pull out from areas they invaded over the past 24 hours.
As the day broke, many displaced people made their way back to Nuseirat refugee camp to check on family members still inside.
Many were shocked to find out that their family members were not able to leave due to quadcopters constantly shooting at them.
We’ve seen footage of ambulances being barred from reaching people injured in the streets, where some were left overnight.
We spoke briefly to paramedics and first responders, who described the grim reality in the refugee camp.
Many people have been killed either inside their homes or as they were making their way out of their residential buildings into the streets, they said. They are literally collecting bodies right now from the streets.
