Munayyer continued:
The support for Israel once enjoyed in the U.S., when people took it to be as normal as the sun rising every day, is gone. Maintaining what support is left will require persuasion—which isn't easy given they are trying to persuade audiences to support war crimes—and increasingly coercion. That era of coercion and repression is what we are quickly transitioning to and will shape the years to come, but that too comes with reputational costs for pro-Israel forces and will eventually collapse as well.
Amen. As so many of us agree- the cruel, sadistic and inhuman crimes Israeli forces are committing on Palestinians is beyond our worst nightmares. The updates each day are sickening. I can't believe this is reality, that the world's most wealthy governments are allowing not just these war-crimes but the influence of billionaire zionist tech companies, media outlets, lobbyists, etc.

Still the tide is turning. The interest in Palestinian freedom has been heightened like never before. People are becoming aware of the deeply ingrained extreme level of Israel's depravity- which can only lead to popular support for the liberation of Palestine.

AJ,

Casualties reported in al-Mawasi ‘safe zone’ after Israeli attack

Our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic are reporting that an Israeli military attack in Gaza’s al-Mawasi area has killed and injured an unknown number of Palestinians.
The report comes as crowds of people from eastern Khan Younis flee towards al-Mawasi, a designated safe zone by the enclave’s western coast.
We’ll bring you more on the attack as we have it.

Five killed in al-Mawasi area

We can now bring you more information on the attack in Gaza’s al-Mawasi area.
The aerial attack killed at least five Palestinians, including two children, in an area where displaced people are sheltering, according to our colleagues on the ground.

Palestinian Mission to the UK hails fund’s Israeli assets divestment

In a statement, the Palestinian Mission to the UK has hailed the 80 million British pounds ($102m) divestment by the country’s biggest private pension fund from Israeli assets.
“We welcome this principled policy as it moves us a step closer to peace and justice in the region,” it said, referring to the move by Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), and urged others to also “adopt an ethical investment policy in line with domestic and international law” and follow the fund’s “principled and effective” decision.
USS manages investments worth 79 billion pounds ($100.8bn) in total and has more than 500,000 members.

Gaza war tearing apart close-knit society: UNRWA’s Lazzarini

UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini warns that the war on Gaza is not only destroying the besieged and bombarded territory’s infrastructure but also ripping apart its “whole community”.
On top of the “brick and stone” being torn apart, so are the “once closely-tied society and kinship”, Lazzarini wrote in a post on X.
“With a ceasefire comes equally the urgency to rebuild the social fabric and community ties,” the head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees said.

Israel has bombed nine Gaza City school shelters in eight days: Monitor

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor says that the Israeli army has intensified its policy of bombing schools used as shelters for displaced Palestinians in Gaza City, killing and injuring hundreds of them.
Just yesterday, two attacks on school shelters in Gaza City killed at least 15 Palestinians and injured some 30 others.
In a report, the human rights group said that these attacks over the past eight days have killed 79 Palestinians and injured 143 others, most of them women and children.
The report says that the actual casualty figures are likely much higher, due to the “loss of others under the rubble who cannot be recovered due to the lack of appropriate equipment for rescue crews”.

These people moving, I feel are the true Biblical families enduring difficulties which could be described as prophetic. I'm sure @AspiringSoul could say more about the meaning of the reality we're witnessing in 2024, just unreal.

As ive said many times, the palestinians descend from 1st century jewish christians who followed Jesus vi aluke 21, fled the war/descruction and returned to take the land, fulfilling Zechariah 13's remnant prophecy.

the way the saudi and emerati prostitutes have attacked Palestinians in this past year is pretty insane, because they've made the point that 'IT DOESNT BELONG TO ARABS, IT BELONGS TO BANI ISRAEL' because surah al Isra says so.

Here's why it's interesting.

in the lifetime of the prophet
According to Antiochus Strategos, whose perspective appears to be that of a Byzantine Greek and shows an antipathy to the Jews, tens of thousands of Christians—the lowest estimate is 30,000—were massacred during the conquest of the city.

that is when the persians defeated the byzantines. The jews established a jewish state that lasted about 9 yrs. Within weeks those jews murdered thousands of PALESTINIANS!!! as in the remnant was murdered by the synagogue of satan..
and this is all foretold in Revelation 12.
The 1260 days number in Revelation 11 and 12 is a reference to the 1260 lunar yr rule of islam over the temple mount. The connection in Rev 12 to 'the wilderness' is telling aswell as is the way the 'woman' (SARAH BTW) is remincient of HAGAR HERSELF, get it?

9 Then the angel of the Lord told her, “Go back to your mistress and submit to her.” 10 The angel added, “I will increase your descendants so much that they will be too numerous to count.”

11 The angel of the Lord also said to her:

“You are now pregnant
and you will give birth to a son.
You shall name him Ishmael,[a]
for the Lord has heard of your misery.
12 He will be a wild donkey of a man;
his hand will be against everyone
and everyone’s hand against him,
and he will live in hostility
toward[b] all his brothers.”

Hagar's blessing was bestowed on her only after she was ordered to submit to Sarah.
The glory of islam, was always it's position in palestine. in rejecting the palestinians as they've now done...
it's going to DECREASE their decendants, which is why the prophet SAW said the arabs will be WIPED OUT!!!
'hostility towards his brothers' and return back to misery....

we're already in the period of jahilliya.

Israel used 2,000 pound bombs to hit al-Daraj school: Gaza Media Office

Ismail al-Thawabta, head of Gaza’s Government Media Office, tells Al Jazeera that the Israeli army used three bombs weighing 2,000 pounds (907kg) each in its attack on the al-Tabin school in Gaza City’s al-Daraj neighbourhood.
The attack has killed at least 100 people by the most recent count, with that number expected to rise as al-Ahli Hospital struggles to cope with the severe injuries that resulted from the attack.
Al-Thawabta added that Israel was aware of the presence of displaced people inside the school.

‘No place is safe’ is the ‘understatement’ of war on Gaza
The situation is Gaza is absolute desperation.

You have a population of over 2 million people. Half of them children. They are starved as a matter of policy, as we have seen from several independent UN reports.

Israel has systematically decimated the health infrastructure in Gaza by targeting hospitals, by targeting health workers, killing hundreds of doctors and nurses, detaining many of them, some dying of torture in Israeli detention camps.

And because the civilian infrastructure has been decimated we have seen the outbreak of polio, which was eradicated from Gaza in the late 1980s. We’ve seen almost endemic levels of hepatitis A affecting children and the elderly, with some dying because of the lack of medication.

We are talking about a situation that is beyond desperate.

In that context, you have the entire population – almost – displaced several times over the past 10 months. Moving from one place to another and the bombs following them from one place to another.

So, ‘No place is safe’ is the understatement of this war.

‘Deliberate’ attack during morning prayers shows nothing ‘can limit Israeli military’
Even from an aerial view, it’s clear that people were doing nothing but performing prayers.

So, it’s a deliberate attack.

Not only is it deliberate against civilians but it is a violation of people’s religious rites as they were in a time considered sacred time while performing prayers at this particular time of the day, in the early hours.

It gives an indication that there is nothing that can limit the Israeli military from continuing its attacks.

Al-Ahli Hospital cannot cope with injuries streaming in from Gaza school attack
There is a huge influx of people pouring into the hospital after the attack on Gaza City’s al-Tabin school. Many of those arriving are in critical condition.

But [al-Ahli Hospital] lacks enough staff and medicine, so it cannot provide adequate medical care. It’s on the brink of collapse. Among the people arriving are children and women. Many are arriving either soaked in blood or already pronounced dead.

There are over 100 dead and the number continues to go up.

Meanwhile, paramedics and volunteers are still working to remove bodies from the bombed site. They are struggling as the bombs that were dropped on the school also set fire to the facility.

Such bombs are packed with nails and shrapnel. When they explode, they not only cause a fire to break out, but their flying pieces cut through flesh.

Footage of the attack that we saw showed people being picked up from the ground in pieces.

Here's the latest email from CJPME (August 7):

"You won’t see it in the mainstream media, but the boycott of Israel is working! Earlier this summer, the BDS National Committee (BNC) – the Palestinian organization which coordinates the boycott of Israel internationally – published an article citing dozens of boycott successes, all of them since Oct. 7. Among them:

  • In June, Intel halted its construction of a new $25 billion factory in Israel!
  • In February, Norway’s $1.6 trillion oil fund divested entirely from Israel Bonds!
  • A June 2024 survey of 15,000 consumers across 15 countries has found that 1 in 3 people are boycotting brands over Israel’s #GazaGenocide!
  • In April 2024, Samsung Next, the innovation arm of the Korean technology giant, Samsung, announced it will shut down its Tel Aviv operations!
Basically, the world is outraged by Israel's brutality, and is expressing its wrath at the cash register. See the full BNC article for many more of the recent boycott successes, whether at the UN, with national, provincial and local governments, with companies, and with academic institutions.
Time to be active in the boycott of Israel!
CJPME has ardently supported the boycott of Israel for almost 20 years. Earlier this year, we invited people to sign up for BDS sticky note pads, and we’ve already sent out almost 4300 of them! We're happy to say they're popping up all over the place!
If you didn’t already sign up for a sticky note pad, sign up now! You can get English sticky notes here, and bi-lingual sticky notes here. We’ll be doing another mail-out of the pads in September.
If you’ve already gotten your sticky note pads, or if you’re just wondering how to participate in the boycott of Israel, see below. Also, our BDS Hub lists dozens of Israeli products and complicit companies which can be found in common Canadian stores. Our BDS Hub also highlights the priorities of the BNC in regards to products and Canadian companies to boycott.
As the BNC article said, “Since October 7th, more than 80% of Israeli start-ups have suffered damages, with over 50% of start-ups left with less than 6 months of cash. The number of ‘angel investors’ dropped by 75% in 2023, and growth capital investing in Israeli companies was down 32% year-over-year in Q1 2024.”
Now is the time to get involved!

The need to apply economic pressure on Israel
Since 2008, CJPME has supported the international Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, and is one of many Canadian organizations doing so. The call for BDS was initiated in 2005 by 170 Palestinian civil society organizations and has had many successes in the past 20 years. Supporters of BDS try to highlight the priorities of the BDS National Committee (BNC), the Palestinian organization behind the movement. In light of Israel’s horrific oppression and brutality against Palestinians these past eight months, Canadians' interest and support for the international BDS movement has surged.
Many Canadians don’t pay attention to Israel’s human rights abuses, and many don’t even know when they’re buying products from Israel. The BDS movement is designed to identify Israeli products, raise awareness about Israel’s abuses, and convince consumers to avoid Israeli products. Identifying boycotted products in stores was a key step in the boycott of Apartheid South Africa – it can also be a key element in the boycott of Israel.

How to get involved?
The first step is to inform yourself, your friends and your community about when and where you might inadvertently be buying Israeli products. Basically, if you’ve ever shopped in a Costco, The Bay, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Walmart, or Staples, you’ve shopped in a store which is selling Israeli products. Once you're familiar with the offending products, one option is to mark the products with the BDS sticky notes, and thus discourage other shoppers from buying these products. On our Website, for the products and brands listed below, you can also download social media posts you can use, as well as letters you can mail to store owners and execs.
Our BDS Hub lists dozens of Israeli products and complicit companies which can be found in common Canadian stores. Our BDS Hub also highlights the priorities of the BNC in regards to products and Canadian companies to boycott.
We’ve also published several new factsheets highlighting the need to boycott certain products, brands, or companies. Check out the new factsheets below to understand how certain companies and products are tied to Israel’s oppression and killing of Palestinians.
Sodastream. SodaStream is an Israeli company specializing in an at-home carbonization product. SodaStream's exploitation of Palestinian labour, complicity in settlement expansion, and continued violations of Palestinian human rights have prompted ongoing BDS efforts. Despite the closure of its factory in the occupied West Bank, the boycott persists as SodaStream's practices perpetuate Israeli occupation and discrimination against its Palestinian workers.

Ahava. AHAVA Dead Sea Laboratories Ltd. is a cosmetics company specializing in products composed of minerals and resources drawn from the Dead Sea shores of the occupied West Bank. Despite ownership changes, including a majority share held by a Chinese investment group, Ahava's historical association with illegal settlements has consistently raised ethical and legal concerns.

Sabra (Hummus). Sabra is a US-based company which produces Middle Eastern-style food products including Hummus. Sabra is jointly owned by PepsiCo and the Strauss Group, an Israeli multinational food and beverage corporation. A boycott of Sabra has been called due to the Strauss Group's financial support for the Israeli military, particularly the Golani and Givati Brigades, which have been implicated in human rights violations against Palestinians.

Aldo Shoes. Founded in 1972 in Montreal, Quebec, by Aldo Bensadoun, The ALDO Group is an online and brick-and-mortar retail company specializing in shoes, boots, sandals, handbags, and accessories. Its subsidiaries include Call It Spring, Aldo Israel LTD, Aldo Accessories, Aldo Group International AG, and ALDO U.S. Inc. Due to its operation of stores in illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory, there are global calls for its boycott.

Aroma Espresso. Aroma Espresso Bar is an Israeli coffee chain established in Jerusalem in 1994 and has about 200 locations worldwide, including southern Ontario. Aroma Espresso Bar operates a cafe in the Ma’aleh Adumim settlement in the occupied West Bank and sources its goods from farms in illegal settlements. The company also engages in discriminatory practices within its operations and materially supports the Israeli military.

Starbucks. Starbucks is an American multinational chain of coffeehouses and roasters that has been targeted by the pro-Palestine boycott movement, particularly in light of allegations of mistreatment of Starbucks Workers United following a solidarity tweet with Palestine. Though Starbucks' claimed neutrality, its legal actions against the union, and indirect economic ties to Israel through major shareholders, have sparked debates about its complicity in Israeli apartheid, prompting conscientious consumers to consider their patronage of the coffee chain.

Can you support our work?
CJPME's ability to provide these free pads of sticky notes is only possible through the generosity of private donors. We're spending almost $15,000 for this campaign: roughly $8000 to print 5000 pads, $5000 for postage, and another $2000 in other costs. If you believe in this campaign, please consider making a gift of financial support to CJPME. Monthly donations are especially helpful, as they sustain our ongoing work and make it easier for us to strategize for the future. If you don't like to donate by credit card, you may donate via email transfer, over the phone (438-380-5410), or complete and mail in this form.
Thank you for supporting our collective efforts. Every added voice makes a difference!
Warmest regards,
Tom, Michael, Jason, Lynn, Alex, Fatima, Mary Ann, Wissam and the rest of the CJPME team (CJPME Email)"

Interesting fact:

A colleague of mine used to be a manager of barista cafe and attended a workshop where she learned that Starbucks' beans are actually 3rd rate beans. I mentioned to her that I never liked the taste of Starbucks coffee due to it's bitter taste and she said that's probably why. The beans they use are over roasted, and explained it's also reasons why they developed a lot of flavoured drinks to their menu. It's to mitigate the burnt taste of them.
