I was just reading that on the Juan Cole site,

Here's something that was posted back in March where Ralph Nader gave his appraisal of the death toll at two hundred thousand.

I do remember your old post actually but this raises a sobering question. If, according to Nader, 200k were already dead by March what's that number at now 3 months later?? Is it double, triple? Perhaps we'll get an answer when the Israeli gov't starts to make moves on resettling Gaza or constructing the Ben-Gurion canal or their other plans....then we'll know that the Palestinian population has been vastly reduced.

The article below was posted in an old thread of mine but i decided to re-read it and the excerpt hit me like a rock, putting my mind in a spin.

Even though they have threatened to exit the country, could it be that the Haredim conscription move isn't just a necessary measure to fill the gap of man-power shortages but rather it is a long-game power play on the part of Netanyahu and his handlers? We know what TPTB want....from the Nile to the Euphrates...and who better effectuates that than the religious fundamentalists thinking they are conquering territory in the name of God or under God's orders? Granted, it is unthinkable right now but what about under the "right" circumstances or with the "right" push (think psyop)?
Voices in the evangelical space are presently animated about how God intends to rescue Israel from her enemies, they are literally expecting fire & brimstone to rain from the heavens. I can't put anything past the Establishment, they'll do whatever it takes to achieve their goals.

Once the Haredim were openly hostile, or at best ambivalent, towards Israeli state institutions, believing that a Jewish state was sacrilegious until the Messiah arrived to rule over Jews.

Now, for the first time, young Haredim are serving in the Israeli army, adding to the pressure on the military command to accommodate their religious fundamentalist ideology. A new term for these hawkish Haredi soldiers has been coined: they are known as the “Hardal.”

Brachyahu and rabbis for the Hardal are among the senior rabbis who have endorsed a terrifying book, the King’s Torah, written by two settler rabbis, that urges Jews to treat non-Jews, and specifically Palestinians, mercilessly.

Dozens killed in Israeli attack on a school in Khan Younis

Dozens of Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli attack that struck a school sheltering families in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis.
Local medical sources say Israeli fighter jets targeted the entrance of the al-Awda school in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis. Several others have also been wounded.

Death toll in school attack expected to rise

It’s another Israeli air strike, and it targeted an entrance, a gate of a school in Khan Younis in Abasan.

The Israeli forces called people in Rafah when the ground invasion started there, they asked them to move to Khan Younis. And most of these people evacuated to shelters, like UN shelters and schools.

So especially before night hours, Palestinians in shelters, in US schools start getting, moving around, finishing all their stuff for the day because they do not move during the dark.

So it’s very obvious that the number of casualties is to rise because it’s an entrance – it’s where everyone is moving around, children are playing around.

This is the fourth attack on a school in the past couple of days. This is happening every single day now, and no one is sure why the Israeli forces are now directly targeting schools and UN shelters.

They (Israeli forces) justify that every time they target a school that there is a Hamas base and that Hamas fighters are in there, but we see that most of those who are injured or killed are Palestinian children and are Palestinian women.
