Archaeologists unearth first evidence of Julius Caesar’s invasion of Britain
The first Roman invasion of Britain by Caesar in 55BC is a historical fact, with vivid accounts passed down by Tacitus, Cicero and Caesar himself. Yet, despite a huge landing force of legionaries from 800 ships, no archaeological evidence of the attack or physical remains have ever been found.

The title made me take notice...
I guess we have not grown up in a culture where anyone has had an axe to grind about Julius Caesar invading England. No angry forum posts proliferated stating he never existed. Even so, if you were so inclined you could have held out against the "unreliable secondary sources" and staunchly denied that the invasion of England by Julius Caesar ever happened.
