We can work towards an "equal" society, but there is no such thing as True Equality. In Nature, there is no equality. Your thoughts?
Equality is such an ambiguous word, one should first clarify on their use of it. To me, equality simply means everyone has the equal right to compete,
not equal qualifications, capacities, physiques, characteristics, etc.
We arent impulse driven animals man.. we have a way more advanced brain then anyother animal, with an advanced brain SHOULD come advanced behavior. Stop seling yourself and humans in general short
It's not our brains that distinguish us from animals. There are plenty of intelligent animals. It is also very erroneous to think we always remain at a constant, "advanced" stage of development. The world wars demonstrated the absurdity of that view. People gave themselves over to their base instinct and behaved like brutes, perpetuated horrors, etc. when they should have known better. The Germans were a race of idealists. While Britain was going around colonizing nations, Germans were dominating the mental and the "spiritual". They should have been, above all, safeguarded from such ideologies, but they let their guard down.
Equality is the objective default. The only thing getting in the way is ourselves.
I've heard that excuse before. "It's a basic fact, but the reason we can't see this is due to our stupidity." Not quite. Equality has never been correctly understood.
Equal is a value judgement.. it does not denote sameness, just equality in value. You can have a two pound potaro or a two pound lump of coal. They are equal and also clearly different.
This argument loses it's charm if you substitute one of them for gold. Gold has no inherent value or practical use. People merely assign a value to it.
People can be different but still inherently equal. Equality means no group has a right to dominate or suppress the rest. We are all individuals but we are also all human beings .
Every aspect of life is governed by hierarchy. The more capable take charge and the rest follow suit.
So it is with god, so it should be with man.
Chrysippus:
If anything exists that man is not capable of creating, he that creates that thing is superior to man; but man is not capable of creating the objects that we see in the world; therefore he that was capable of doing so, surpasses man; but who could surpass man save god?
