Been there. I manged to quit, but literally failed dozens of times before i was finally successful.I'm a nicotine addict. The thing is I don't really want to quit.
I would prefer to reccommend to quit entirely.I'm a nicotine addict. I tried different ways to quit smoking, like changing cigarettes to vape or e-cigarettes. Also tried nicotine gums from Canada Drugs, but no result. The thing is I don't really want to quit. I think it's all in our head. If I don't make my mint to quit, I won't stop smoking.
Vaping is not quitting. You are simply replacing one nicotine product with another. Its like the nicotine patches. People think its easier to wing themselves off nicotine but it doesn't work that way. Imagine an alcoholic trying to quit but has a beer or two a week.I would prefer to reccommend to quit entirely.
But if that's how you feel.
You should at least give vaping a shot to replace it.
Is there probably some long term side effects with vaping as well we don't know of yet? Probably yes.
But we know that cigarettes are extremely bad.
Vaping is a much better option.
Taste better, cheaper, your clothes/apartment doesn't smell and it's almost guarenteed to be much healthier.
The guy said he didn't want to quit, so I reccommended vaping since it's less harmful. Damage reduction.Vaping is not quitting. You are simply replacing one nicotine product with another. Cold turkey may seem the hardest, but its definately the fastest solution. You got about 3 bad days and thats it. Compare to that someone trying to quit for a month on the patches or other products containing nicotine.
If they can do this to cigarettes, why not to other things that are considered unhealthy? And by the way, why would a company deliberately make his own product taste bad? And the following may sound odd or very unlikely to be true for many, but I think the nicotine is actually a good thing. From what I know and what others have said too, is that a significant amount of people that have never had ‘covid’ are smokers (nicotine also naturally occurs in other plants like tomatoes, but in much smaller amounts).I smoked since my teens until early 20s, not super heavy, just about half a pack to a pack a day.
When i started reading about food and ingredients and stuff like that, i quit. What finally did it: i read somewhere that cigarettes were artificially flavored to taste like crap (unless they were flavored to taste good). While i had read plenty about health effects and all that, the fact that they had something unnecessarily added to make them taste BAD just pushed me over the edge.
I realize the way my brain reasons is not typical lol. Just putting this out there in case it helps anyone.
It's been over a decade now, i still get the occasional craving but not enough to actually do it.
It has been over a decade since i read about it, but from what i remember it had nothing to do with health or discouraging people from doing it. It was kind of the opposite, something about how people expected it to taste bad, so they were giving the consumer what they expect. As well as each brand having its own proprietary taste, once again about giving the consumers what they expect from each brand. If they can do this to cigarettes, why not to other things that are considered unhealthy? I'd read that the nicotine naturally inhibits something related to c0vid or the v@x and cig smokers tended to fare better. And the following may sound odd or very unlikely to be true for many, but I think the nicotine is actually a good thing. Y'all might be interested in this articleI think there is a conspiracy against tobacco for many reasons. One is monetary to make as much money off taxes. Tobacco is an herb and without additives is actually fairly harmless. And you notice the government promoting deadly vaccines and food additives etc and yet they discriminate against people who smoke and rake in the money off taxes. Also it is another way to take away freedoms. I'm also suspicious of why marijuana is now being promoted as the greatest thing since sliced bread.
My thoughtsDuring a segment on his show, Tucker Carlson says the regime pushes weed and goes after tobacco because THC makes you “makes you compliant & passive.”
He said that, unlike weed, nicotine “frees your mind.”
I could be wrong but I think it is legal to grow tobacco but it isn't as easy to grow as marijuana is. Plus you can buy a pound of various kinds of organic good quality tobacco leaves fairly cheap without paying taxes. A pound of marijuana is over a thousand dollars for good quality stuff whereas the best tobacco leaves can be had for as little as twenty to thirty dollars a pound and no taxes either.I'd read that the nicotine naturally inhibits something related to c0vid or the v@x and cig smokers tended to fare better.

My thoughts
- there is ONE huge reason why they want everyone on weed and it is because under federal law it is illegal to get a gun license if one admits to using it. Conveniently this reason is never mentioned.
- i call bs on marijuana not freeing people's minds. Many of the conspiracy researchers i've known in real life smoked weed.
- there absolutely IS a conspiracy against tobacco, or else why can't people grow it themselves? Being allowed to only buy a processed version at the store and never produce it ourselves means in a way the freedom has already been lost for a long time.
You're right, apparently it is legal to grow for personal use, but when it comes to selling all the licenses and taxes come into play. Interesting, i had been told it was illegal to grow and didn't check it out before.I could be wrong but I think it is legal to grow tobacco but it isn't as easy to grow as marijuana is. I tried searching for the article i had read but either it has been scrubbed from the internet or my searching skills are off. This is the closest i found to confirmation of what im talking about. It has been over a decade since i read about it, but from what i remember it had nothing to do with health or discouraging people from doing it. Regarding the push for marijuana while banning tobacco, looks like the gov of ny has been called out on the hypocrisy.Of course. There are different kinds of tobacco and additives.
Most American cigarettes are made from the less expensive Brite tobacco which is a kind of burley tobacco that has very little flavor. The companies add flavorings to give it its unique taste profile. They do this with glycerine, sugar, chocolate and any number of ingredients that probably shouldn’t be inhaled even if they sound innocent in their natural form.
Some expensive imports like Balkan Sobranies use a natural tobacco with a unique natural taste profile. The same with Turkish. Even Zimbabwe has some pungent, naturally flavored Virginia style tobacco.
For the most part, American cigarettes can be divided into the following categories: dry (Marlboro) wet (Winston) some like Kent, which uses a charcoal filter have a kind of chemical taste and then there is menthol.
The governor’s action smacks of hypocrisy, merchants and tobacco advocates charge.
“Blaming flavored tobacco as a vehicle for underage smoking while promoting flavored cannabis is bizarre and contradictory, and will only impact the lives of retail employees who will see their jobs eliminated,” said Kent Sopris, president of New York Association of Convenience Stores.
He added that “prohibitionist policies such as the flavor ban will have no impact on the availability of the products as they will remain readily available to consumers in nearby states and on the flourishing criminal underground market just like banned flavored vape products are.”
Hochul’s office defended the proposed flavored tobacco ban.
...
Westchester County Executive George Latimer last month vetoed a similar bill to ban flavored cigs, saying there was a disconnect between the tobacco prohibition and the state’s promotion and licensing of recreational cannabis.
The intersection between making certain tobacco products illegal at the same time we are allowing cannabis products to be legally sold, creates a societal concern that must be more fully addressed,” Latimer said in his Dec. 12 veto message
