Marvel's Dr Strange Occult Symbolism

Watched Dr Strange on Netflix over the weekend and noticed two things I missed when I watched it in the theater. First, when the ancient one was telling him the he needed to look beyond his senses, she poked him in the forehead and told him to open his eye, not eyes. And then during his psychedelic journey, a monarch butterfly prominently flies by him. Is there other occultic symbolism that I missed?

I remember that... I don't know what it really means though.
I also noticed this one eye sign type thing on the movie poster.

That movie was such a disappointment.

The storyline reminded me of a shadow government with superpowers and the ability to astral project. Can't help that this is where my mind goes when I watch anything anymore.
