OK -

You know when you have spent too long in VC land when a car logo seems to take on sinister overtones...

I just read an article this morning on a vehicle that bears the following badge.

CADA8933-5056-B725-6B795736300AFBBA-logo.JPG.png

Apparently only ten kings will ever be made, and the six tonne versions will be made to be bullet proof.

The world's most expensive SUV goes on sale for £1.56 million - and it looks just like the Batmobile (with an even more extraordinary interior)

"The car weighs 4.5 tonnes, however prospective buyers are offered to upgrade their chassis to make it bullet proof, which takes the weight up to six tonnes.

Only ten Karlmann Kings (?!) will ever be built, according to its Chinese maker, and when looking at the outside, the black four-wheel drives seem to have come straight out of a DC comic book.

The car is named after a 6th century king of a part of modern-day France - Carloman I - a younger brother of Charlemagne, the first Holy Roman Emperor.

It is unclear why Carloman was chosen to give his name to the vehicle, as he appears to have had a short and troublesome reign before dying of natural causes in 771 aged 20."

By Nic White For Mailonline12:20, 10 May 2018, updated 19:42, 10 May 2018

  • French President Emmanuel Macron awarded prize in German town of Aachen
  • Ceremony lauded his work 'in the service of European unification'
  • German Chancellor Angela Merkel praised him for defending values of freedom
  • Selectors noted his 'decisive stance against nationalism and isolationism'
  • However, Macron has failed to make headway with many of his EU reforms
  • Prize is named after Frankish king who united much of Europe in the 9th Century
Emmanuel Macron has been awarded the Charlemagne Prize for his work 'in the service of European unification'.

Interesting ten Karlman kings connected with the Holy Roman Emperor. And both the German empire and the Third reich considered themselves the continuation of the Holy Roman Empire.

And in the book of Daniel the panther had four heads so... anybody up for a fourth or resurrected Third reich ?
