Well where to begin... in the Quran Jesus Christ was not crucified but in the Bible he was.
So what's up with that ?
In the context, it says
those jews who boasted about killing him, didn't kill him or crucify him, it only appeared as if they had.
The way I personally understand it is that it does not contradict the bible at all but presents a different take on it.
The sadducees were a group of literalists who strictly only believed in what was written in the old testament.
Words like Gehenna, were not mentioned in the bible. There was no real mention of an afterlife the way Jesus spoke, so they rejected him. They obviously did not believein the resurrection so to them, this physical body is all you have and when you're physically dead, you're dead.
The Quran also says
"think not of the slain as dead, no, they live" referring to martydom.
There is a book called Wisdom. In that it explains how Death is only an illusion created by our carnal/sinful nature. That "God did not intend death" "he made the soul everlasting".
It was a book that foretold the story of Jesus (Wisdom chapter 2, is one of the best prophecies ive ever read).
in that chapter it actually spoke of the sadducee's, their denial of the afterlife and thieir belief only in the material world. That they would hate Jesus and want to kill him because he calls himself the 'son of God' and they want to test God ie 'will he let us kill his 'son''
so they put him to death......or so it appears (this is what the book says)
in otherwords, it only appears like they've killed him
it says 'to the unenlightened they appeared to die, but their hope was rich in immortality'
it even tells us they (all the martys) will return one day to judge everyone.
it basically foretold the whole thing but it's end game was to explain exactly what the Quran has done, in more detail about life and death. This is important given Jesus is not 'dead' but living.....
IF the Quran had started talking about the resurrection/crucifixion, that would have been a huge topic in it's own right, considering there's an entire new testament and an old testament with so many prophecies connected to it.
though i doubt you will look at my answer with any deep thought and honesty.
